Not to bad rooms are up to date clean and my room came with a balcony which was nice.. If you want a decent room for a reasonable price this is your hotel close to everything

We really enjoyed our one night stay here. Our view from the 14th floor was awesome and very quiet. It was close to the airport and we were leaving for the Grand Canyon the next day. But it is along way to the middle of the strip where everything is hoppin'.

Would not stay here again. The hotel has a long way to go to keep up with the other hotels on the strip. The room location was a distance from the main check in area. The room was not very extravagant in fact the TV did not work and the shower was setup very low intended for people taking a bath rather than taking a shower. We were upgraded (without asking) upon arrival to a small suite. We had a corner room with a beautiful view of the strip. The room was very clean, newly decorated and the maid service was "tops"! Only complaint....wish there was a coffee pot! We had a long walk to get our morning cup of coffee.

Our stay at the New Tropicana was great. Close to everything we needed to get to and very clean. Casino is small and offers several $5 balckjack tables which was nice. Only downfall of the Trop is that the food selection is not great. No buffet but across the walkway at Excalibur they have a big one. Would definitley go back.

This place is referred to as the New Tropicana. But it didn't appear to be any newer than before. The room was okay, nicely decorated. We arrived early and my wife was so anxious to get into a room even though the one I ordered wasn't ready, the woman at the front desk was nice enough to put us into another room. Negatives: TV reception sucked, the light switch for the bathroom was behind the door, our sink backed up and we had to call maintenance (he arrived quickly, but left a mess on the floor), no fridge or micro, no hot water in the shower, ugly wallpaper. I found it very unfriendly, lack of service even with less people in the hotel at the time I was present I could not get anyone to give me service while playing slots. This was my second time at the hotel, and I think it will be my last.

I usually stay at the MGM Grand when I visit Las Vegas, but the rates at the MGM were outrageous, so decided to try the Tropicana. The room was as good if not better than the MGM, especially the spacious bathroom. However, the registration process was horrible. I tried to check in around noon, but our room was not ready yet. I also tried around 1:30. […] Finally, checked in around 3:30 and had to wait nearly 30 minutes to check in. They only had 2 people working the registration desk at their busiest time. Later in the evening, my key was not working to my room. Once again, I had to stand in the registration line for nearly 15 minutes to get my key fixed. Upon check-in the front desk person was rude ! The room smelled musty! The towels ( only two) were damp! I bought a can of Lysol and sprayed everything in the room! The room was noisy! No curtains, just shutters and was blinded by lights outside on the wall! There were picketers outside promoting deplorable hotel conditions! The room was middle-of-the-road, the bed not particularly comfortable, and the bottle of water in the room was a nice touch since LV hotel tap water tastes horrible. But the reason I will never stay here again is this: at about 3:15am, after several hours of uncomfortably drifting in and out of sleep, I awoke to the hotel's alert system. After a few […] minutes, I called the front desk, and before I could ask what was going on, they told me "we're sending a team to resolve the alarm." For all I knew there was a fire or an active shooter on the loose. After half an hour of the alarm blaring, interspersed with a pre-recorded "please stay in your room, the hotel response team is working to resolve the situation" in English and Spanish, it finally ended. How could I sleep after that? I packed up, went downstairs and checked out shortly thereafter. During checkout, I asked what the alarm was about. The front desk staff told me someone had pulled the fire alarm. Half an hour to resolve a false fire alarm at 3 in the morning with no communication to the hotel guests indicating it wasn't an emergency? There was no offer to make up for the inconvenience, either. I ended up sleeping for a few hours in a parking lot in my rental car before the long workday ahead. I will not be staying at the Tropicana again. Read more

Was a little slower with only one person at the front desk checking guests in. Somehow my buddy who I paid for and our room got mixed up sonthat took even longer. Hotel room is fine. Pool area is mostly in the shade early and late and the bit in the sun is closed off. Speakers blare everywhere to the point it is notbeasybto talk or read. The Tropicana hotel definitely looks cheaper than the other hotels, with the casino dealers having advertisment t-shirts on instead of something nice. Not really much happening there at night, we wound up going to Planet Hollywood and Cosmopolitan instead. It's a bit of a tacky Florida feeling there. The pool area and breakfast restaurant are nice though. […] The rooms were definitely not very well cleaned, however we complained about this several times and they waivered our resort fee and gave us free breakfast, which was nice. Room was clean but located in tower long walking distance from entrance. Pool was very nice. Music from pool was very loud and even on 17th floor could be be heard. Wish there was a buffet breakfast and lunch at Tropicana. At least MGM and other hotels are close by.

However, the rooms were nice and I liked that it was a little bit off the main strip and there were a ton of people surrounding the entrance. The Italian restaurant, Bacio, was delicious. Overall, my stay was excellent. The food was good, the room was nice and the service was even better. My one complaint was the resort fee charged at check-in. If this fee is not optional, it should be stated up front so that the value of what we are being charged can be fully evaluated.This only ethical and fair.

We were in the bungalows and the first room they put us in was missing one of the 2 partition doors to the room next to us so we could walk right in to someone else's room! There was no way to lock that door! Then they put us in another room that had no toilet paper and we had to call twice before someone brought it. The tv's in both rooms were not […] working and we had to unplug everything and plug it back in so it would stop randomly shutting off and changing channels. The bungalows are on the ground floor and we heard noises on the floor all night like something big was rustling through our bags! The room itself was fine. The room/hotel is very nice, however, we arrived on Friday and left on Sunday and the room was never serviced by the maid. Also, the water is not hot, but warm in the shower. Otherwise, property very nice, valet personnel very friendly.

Overall the hotel was nice. The bed was extremely comfortable. The common areas of the hotel appeared to be really well maintained. The problem was the bathroom in the room. Tile on walls was coming loose. Floor was in rough shape. Not what I expected for the rating the hotel received.

We loved the smaller boutique-vibe of the casino and the rooms were nicely remodeled and spacious. Loved the bedding, which I'm a stickler about. What a let down, we arrived at 3pm to check in and our room wasn't available. The sweet girl at the front offered us a pool key so we could hang outh there while our room was getting cleaned. The pool that is showed in the pictured at Hotels.com is not the one you get to use. Most of the pictures that is shown is of the 21 and over pool with a cover […] charge. Two hours later the pools getting ready to close and we still haven't heard from the hotel letting us know our room is ready. Finally 3 hours after check in time our room is ready. The room was suppose to have a view of the strip, the view was of the MGM parking. Breakfast at the restaurant was horrible both our meals were made incorrectly and by the time they corrected the eggs the rest of the greasy "hashbrown" and under cooked bacon had gotten cold.
