What a let down, we arrived at 3pm to check in and our room wasn't available. The sweet girl at the front offered us a pool key so we could hang outh there while our room was getting cleaned. The pool that is showed in the pictured at Hotels.com is not the one you get to use. Most of the pictures that is shown is of the 21 and over pool with a cover […] charge. Two hours later the pools getting ready to close and we still haven't heard from the hotel letting us know our room is ready. Finally 3 hours after check in time our room is ready. The room was suppose to have a view of the strip, the view was of the MGM parking. Breakfast at the restaurant was horrible both our meals were made incorrectly and by the time they corrected the eggs the rest of the greasy "hashbrown" and under cooked bacon had gotten cold. The location of the Tropicana is at one end of the strip. I would suggest getting a bus pass (less than ten dollars for a 24hr pass) because there is a stop right outside of the hotel. I am so glad we chose the Tropicana. The staff was super friendly and went out of their way to help me find a picture I had left the night before. Pool was comfortable. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Good location to get to the other casinos. Not as fancy as some of the other hotels but that is great for me. Would highly recommend it!

The club tower in the Tropicana is quite a hike compared to the other tower. Our door lock didn't open twice, but then maintenance came and fixed it. But it was still a pain to wait for security to come let us into our room late at night. All staff was polite and helpful.

My friend and I went to Vegas for a girls getaway weekend and chose to stay at the Tropicana based on the positive reviews and good price. We were not disappointed in our selection. Our room was clean, spacious and comfortable. We had an excellent view of the strip and the pool area below. The only negative was that they start playing music loudly at […] the pool around 11am and it lasts till about 4pm preventing you from sleeping later (which is sometimes need in Vegas ha ha) or taking a mid-day nap. The outdoor pool area is nice and relaxing with plenty of space and lounge chairs for catching some sun. The casino area in the hotel is small, but accomodating. Also had a problem with a pipe bursting and not being able to use any water for a couple of hours. So, I will first say that I stayed here because of the price (and the fact they honor Hilton points). I also know that generally (especially in Vegas) you get what you pay for. Having usually stayed at Wynn/Encore/Caesars, I knew going in that this would not measure up. That said, I do expect a minimum level of service that they fell short on here. […] My biggest gripes were: 1) The maid service only came ONCE in 4 days. We had to track down a housekeeper in the hall and get towels for 3 out of the 4 days. (Though it was not too hard to find them because they were often in hotel rooms, with the door open, sitting on the bed, watching TV.) Further, 2) They had the brilliant idea to do maintenance on the water lines on a Friday night at 7:30PM! Therefore, we had NO WATER. No shower, no sink, no toilet... for 2 hours! They offered nothing to accommodate us and seemed surprised that I was upset. After getting a manger, they offered us a room in the other tower to shower in... All in all, an unfortunate ordeal that will make me think twice about booking there again. Read more

Stayed 2 nights after staying at MGM. Nice room. Great pools. More for a laid back friends weekend kind of hotel. Didn't see many kids. Small casino but very well done inside. We chose the Tropicana for it's proximity to the Mandaly Bay and being in very close proximity to the strip without all the hussle and bussle with trying to get in and out of your hotel, we also wanted to check out what it looked like since the remodel. We got a good price on the room so that was a plus. Unfortunately, upon check in, they didnt have […] our selected room type available and offered us a smoking room. We nicely declined. They said they could give us a room of our type in the Bungalow Tower. We accepted being that we were tired, and needed to get ready for our evening event. I asked if it was an exuavalent to the room I had origionally booked and with hesitation, she said yes. The room was OK, it was right off of the Beach cafe and you need your room key to access the tower which made me feel safe but at the same time felt like it was the "projects" of the Hotel (according to my BF). Room was a lot smaller than expected but clean. There was an akward balcony that over looked what seemed to be a loading dock or utility parking lot. But if you looked up you had a view of the Mandalay Bay, which was nice. We didnt utilize any room service this time or even gamble in the Hotel but the whole new look is fresh and nice. We ate at the Beach Cafe, which is 24hours, and thier food is pretty good. Service wasnt all that great but it was 3am. Valet service was awesome and very helpful. All in all we enjoyed our stay. A friend of mine and I are both students and went to Vegas with a lower budget than many other people.. Tropicana was absolutely great! Cannot remember the last time I slept that well, the beds were great. The location on the Strip is great too, I think - easy to move everywhere. The walls and windows are paper thin thus a lot of noise from people and the outside all night. Was on a high floor but still heard all the police and ambulances going by. The free workout room is ok with a few cardio machines, free weights and some exercise weight machines, but if using during the day it gets very hot as there is no A/C and all the glass overlooking the pool gets really hot.
