Hotel was being remodeled on part of the ground floor. The staff and completed renovations were awesome. Perfect location if you want to be in the best part of the Quarter. I would definitely stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Love this place! But want a different room"
This place was great, perfect location for my trip - a conference at the Marriott three blocks away. It was far less expensive than the Marriott but the room was really nice. It's old world charm, modern convenience. Even the pillows were good. The only reason I gave a low mark on comfort is because of the air conditioning - which is a must in NOLA. […] The vents were aimed right at the bed so it was windy all night. If you like that, pick a room that ends in 15 or 16. I mentioned it to the clerck and she said both those rooms have that problem. But overall, the place was perfect. If I go back, I'll check this place first. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good place to stay"
My experience at the French Market Inn was far better than I was expecting. The place was clean and my room was spotless. It wasn't a big room, but big enough for 2 people to be comfortable. You could tell it was recently renovated and there were a few things that still hadn't been updated, like some tiling in the hallway or the funky carpet in the […] elevator. The staff was also incredibly polite and helpful. I had to interact with the front-desk clerks in the daytime and evening, as well as the bellman and housekeeping. They couldn't have been nicer. The location of the place was great - in the French Quarter and close to Jackson Square, but also enough of a walk from Bourbon Street (only a few short blocks) to not be able to experience the...um...bouquet emanating from Bourbon Street. The area around the hotel felt safe, too. I would stay there again the next time I'm in NOLA. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very large room"
However they did not carry soap, so when you go in make sure that you have all the toiletries you need.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The French Quarter In could not be better placed for a vacation to the French Quarter of New Orleans. Staff were friendly and attentive. Very comfortable beds. Old world charm at a reasonable price.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We were very satisfied with our stay. Great location with New Orleans charm. We will be returning here in the future.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Love this hotel"
Had a great time. Staying at a hotel with this character, in the heart of the French Quarter, made the New Orleans experience authentic. I did not need to use my car. I walked or took the trolley Staff was very wonderful. I can't say enough about them. Be aware the rooms are small, but they are quaint and wonderfully furnished and clean.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
It was really quite terrific. I wish that I had been informed that the room was not an exterior room; thus there was no natural light, which made it a bit dark during the day. Everything else was great.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Quaint, Historic Hotel"
My husband and I stayed here in April for an event in NOLA and absolutely loved it. It is far enough from Bourbon to be removed from the party scene, but close enough to walk or take the trolley. The room was very small, but I loved the historic aspects the hotel has encompassed. Bed was very comfy and hotel was clean. Planning on staying here again […] for future trips. The only downside is valet. It took nearly an hour to get our car out of the garage. Make sure you request the car far enough in advance. Other than that, we loved French Market Inn! "Great deal in a great location"
the hotel was in a great location, really cool old building that was updated. we were 2 hours early, the lady at the desk got us checked in and made sure we had a ground floor room since she noticed i was quite pregnant and said she wouldnt feel right making me deal with steps. the best part is that when we walked out of our room, there was the pool! […] and conveniently located by the ice machine etc. i definitely felt good about the stay. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Fantastic hotel, great location"
This was my first trip to New Orleans and the hotel and location were great! We had a room that was in the courtyard which kept the noise out at night. The staff was so friendly and the room was very clean. It was steps away from Boubon and Frenchmen. Oh, and there is an amazing old yellow cat who resides in the hotel. I am guessing the bad reviews […] came from while the hotel was under renovations. They are finished now and it is beautiful. I will defiantly be back! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good location, mediocre service and comfort"
The hotel is convenient to the quarter, clean, and has a nice courtyard and very small swimming pool. Elevators are slow. Service was pretty much non-existent. It took 15 min to check in and we were not allowed to check out until we turned in card keys, making us late leaving. Bell service talked on his cell phone while we struggled to get our luggage […] into the hotel and to room. Parking is expensive at $28/day. We were awakened Friday morning by hotel workers replacing a door just outside our window with lots of hammering and drilling. There's a friendly hotel cat. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Amazing boutique lots of charm NEWLY RENOVATED"
The French Market Inn is without a doubt my favorite place to stay in New Orleans NOW. I've been in Nawlins many times and have used spare bedrooms, casino suites, and everything in between. This place was charming, clean, newly renovated, and quite peaceful. The staff was simply wonderful, prompt, and courteous. The location is close enough to the […] bulk of French Quarter to easily walk there but far enough away to provide a respite from the Bourbon Street noise and smell ;). I will stay there again, definitely. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Beautiful older hotel right on Decatur Street....close to EVERYTHING right in the middle of the French Quarter. Easy check in. Rooms are very nicely renovated/updated. Extremely comfortable bed. Awesome bathroom.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Great location, nice hotel, friendly staff."
Great location. Right on the edge of the French Quarter so easy walking distance to restaurants, bars, nightclubs, trolley lines, and Frenchmen St. Staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms were nothing special, but quite nice (especially if you get courtyard room, which I had). Certainly a great value for price.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Would definitely stay here again!"
Great location! Our room was newly remodeled and very clean. Air conditioning wasn't so great. We were on the third floor and the elevator only went to the second so we had to walk up a large flight of stairs to get to our room. The stairs would have been acceptable if the room was properly air conditioned so there was a little relief from the humidity. […] Other than that the experience was great, the staff was awesome and accommodating. The central location allowed us to walked to several hot spots but was still quiet enough to enjoy some down time. This hotel has many modern conveniences but still has the charm of a historic building. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"My new go to place"
This was a definite find. I know on other reviews they have complain of the size and the no windows but it was perfect for us. It was charming and even had its own cat mascot "Patrick". If there was anything that we would want to improve it would b a refrigerator and a shelf in the shower, other than that don't change a thing.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Was wonderful. Staff was great ... i would definatley reccomend it to ppl and would def. Stay there again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I expected traffic hassles because of this hotel's location, however, I didn't expect the problems with parking. No info was given prior to our arrival re: where to park to check in. The hotel is right on the street and there wasn't any place to park so we parked across the street in a pay lot. Upon checking in we were told we could valet park, but we […] had to pull up front. Problem was there were cars there already. We circled the block a couple times before we finally saw a valet attendant who helped us down the street. When we checked out we were told to walk to the parking garage around the corner to get our car. The garage wasn't just around the corner but a block away. Not exactly valet parking. Very disappointed with the front desk staff. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location and setting!"
At least 1 chair to sit in would be nice. Great courtyard to enjoy! A party above us, Friday night, after people came in about 12:30, made it difficult to sleep.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Excellent location, nice rooms! Will be staying there from now on. Service was great.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We were very pleased with the room. Small but very nice. Our only concern was the noise level. Being such an old building, insulation wasn't in existence then -- so you could hear everything from people talking to people walking above you. Small problem with the bed sheets not being changed before our check-in, but they immediately brought up fresh […] linens. Excellent hotel that I would definitely book again. "It is apalling"
I did not stay here, I had to walk out due to the rudeness of the reception counter. Even though I was showing the lady at the desk I had a room booked she would not even bother looking it up in her computer. She simply refused to acknowledge I had a reservation and only said there was no room available. Then when I asked if she would check to see if […] there was a booking error and they help make another arrangement she refused. I have never been treated so poorly at any place and I do not recommend it at all to any one. I then had no problem booking myself at the Hilton where the service and staff were great. "Great Hotel on Decatur"
We just got back from 5 days in New Orleans. We've stayed at a few hotels closer to Bourbon, but decided this time to stay a little further away from the all-night noise of Bourbon. The French Market Inn on Decatur was chosen, based on reviews, and we got two rooms....one for us and another for my parents-in-law. Both rooms were generously sized, nicely […] decorated, with updated bathrooms and comfortable beds. The courtyard was perfect for relaxing early morning with coffee (with excellent coffee house next door to hotel), or evening relaxing before heading up to rooms. The staff were helpful and friendly. The best part of the stay was we never heard any outside noise from the street while we were sleeping. We requested a courtyard view, and were so happy with it. We will definitely stay at this hotel again! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Very polite staff, great location, clean and comfortable rooms.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We loved this hotel. The location was great, once we parked the car, we did not get it until time to leave. Parking the car cost $25 per day, but was less than some other hotels. Location was nice and quite, but only a few blocks from Bourbon Street if you are interested in going there. Location was also close to the streetcar, Café Du Monde and Jackson […] Square. Some rooms do not have windows, when making reservation they gave me lower price and when I asked if it had a window they said no. I was willing to pay more for a window. If you do not want a room without a window make sure and ask. Has a very small pool in the court yard, but we did not use. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Book this hotel! You won't regret it."
Great location! Great front desk personal! Everytime I walked by the front desk I was acknowledged. This hotel is right across from Jax Brewery & right down the street from Jackson Park. About a 5-8 minute walk to Bourbon St. There's no bar or place to eat at the hotel but lots and lots of places to eat and drink close by. The rooms are not that large […] but you don't at all feel cramped. I love the black out drapes that cover the doors. Makes the room good and dark! Bathrooms are typical size, with a very nice stand up shower. My room didn't have a tub. Not sure if all of them are like that. No fridge or microwave in the room which would had been nice. I was right next to the pool which got pretty loud around 1 a.m. but it didn't bother me. Something to think about when your checking in. Valet parking was 31.00 dollars a night. Theres a self parking area right across from the hotel but i think its just about the same in price. I really enjoyed my stay. Had no problems and will definitly stay there again. Everything is within walking distance in french quarter. CC's coffee is next door. Emeril's NOLA is around the corner. As is Johnny's Po boy and Pierre M restaurants. "New Orleans Charm"
We surprisingly had one of the newly renovated rooms which was incredibly charming with exposed brick walls and decor. It was small, but perfect for our needs. Bed was surprisingly comfortable. Only complaint was the valet company that took 50 mins to retrieve my car when we were told 20 mins.Genuine Expedia guest review
The hotel staff was amazing, they were thoughtfull and very attentive. They had a fair bit of construction going on and some of the areas were a bit rough to see. The room was nice accept for not having a window was a bit closed in. But the staff made up for any short comings that I found with the hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
