The best weekend of my life. The service was excellent and they went above and beyond to make this visit special. Offered to help us with our luggage, gave us free internet even though it usually costs 12-15$ per day. The staff was overly nice. The furniture (chairs) in the middle lobby need to be removed. I saw several guest, leave the bar, next to the middle lobby, get in the chair and fall out of it. The maids to […] clean the rooms have very little English skills and need to be able to communicate with the guest. I asked for something several times and eventually just gave up on the request. I did not like the lack of communication during the check in process but notifying guest of the possible hold for incidentials. I had a hold on the card for 10 days and it took approximately 5 calls to the Accounting department to ensure they faxed a letter to my credit union to release the funds. It felt like Maria/Marie purposely did not fax the request until I had my customer service representative from the credit union on the phone with her. After telling me it was faxed 4 times, between 9:00 to 4:20 PM. I conferenced in the Accounting department with my credit union and finally the fax came through with no problem. I live in Atlanta and will visit Charlotte every month for 3 to 4 nights for 8 months due opening a new office. "Excellent hotel in upscale (South park) Charlotte"
A very pleasant stay in a completely refurbished hotel that is very convenient to upscale shopping and excellent restaurants. Many are within walking distance. From arrival to departure we were treated with utmost courtesy and respect. They appeared to really appreciate our business. Our room (one king) was immaculate, well decorated and with all amenities […] that were needed. Bed very comfortable, carpet clean, bathroom spotless. Very good shower. No plumbing or electrical problems. No hall noise or noise from adjacent rooms. AC and heat, room specific, easy to use and personalize and worked well. In room safe. Our room was on the second floor so there was some mild background noise (music) from the lobby. Unfortunately, In room Wi-Fi was an option that had to be purchased (we declined). The staff from the doorman on up were quite pleasant and very helpful. Breakfast in the hotel restaurant was included in our pkg. and was quite good. Apparently the standard rate does not include bkfst. Be sure to ask about this. Many excellent restaurants, bakeries and cafes are in the South Park area. Parking is convenient and plentiful around the hotel and in an adjacent garage. All areas around the hotel are well lit and we were assured were safe.
