The hotel room (a double) was very small, and although adequate for a two day stay would prove to be very claustrophobic if staying there any longer. More than one piece of luggage in the room might prove problematic too. The location of this hotel close to the tube station is excellent. If you plan not to spend too much time in the room during your stay this a good hotel to stay in for a weekend break.

The Best Western Cromwell was a bargain given its location. For those travelling with USDollars, its one of the better deals you can get. Yes the rooms are quite small but they do help create intimacy and warmth. The whole place feels like a house as opposed to a large hotel. For those who want to spend the whole day in the room however, it is not a good idea. Everything is nearby and hotel staff are extremely helpful with accommodating guest requests for extras.

The location of the hotel is great - so close to Gloucester Road underground station and within easy walking distance of Kensington High Street ( go and have a look at Whole Foods Market, turn left at the top of Gloucester Road), Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park, the V and A, Harrods etc. The hotel is clean, the beds are very comfortable and the showers fine. Rooms at the back are quiet. The rooms are small but are fine for one person; if you're part of a couple then you'll need to co-ordinate your movements about the room. The breakfast is nothing special but there are plenty of places nearby if you're paying for bed only. There's a great Waitrose just across the road. The window boxes are very attractive and well maintained. The staff are helpful and will look after your luggage for a few hours after you check out.

However the reception staff were helpful and friendly, the room was clean and modern with good facilities. Having said that I think it is a lot to pay for a small room without breakfast. The location was excellent, central with restaurants and tube station not 50m from the hotel. In conclusion, an average, clean, comfortable place to stay, good facilities but very small rooms and there is better available for the price.

My sister and I recently spent a week at this hotel. We would recommend it to others as long as people are aware that they cannot count on the staff for anything. While the staff are very friendly, they were essentially worthless with basic customer service functions. They couldn't give restaurant recommendations (we asked for restaurants near a theater where we were to see a play, and a staffmember said "there are lots of restaurants inside the underground station"--who wants to eat there!?), their idea of helping us book a tour was calling a number on a brochure, then handing the phone to me; asking for help mailing a postcard resulted in being sent to a post office. I actually ended up using the concierge service of one of the nicer hotels in town where a friend was staying (that person gave me his card and gave top notch restaurant recommendations and even helped provide advice for traveling to Heathrow very early in the morning). The hotel facilities are adequate and clean(what you'd expect for the price) and the location is excellent being so near the tube station...however just plan on the hotel being run by the equivalent of college kids and you won't be disappointed.

This hotel, which is in an ideal location, is undergoing an extensive refurbishment programme which is being done to a very high standard. However our brief stay in room 403 was marred by the tiny proportions of the actual bedroom. It really is inadeqaute for two people to move around without permanantly being in each others way. It was also very hot indeed during the night and it was impossible to sleep without having the a/c on which was quite noisy. Another consequence of the lack of space is that there is insufficient room for the storage of ones luggage and clothes, so there is a constant shifting around of luggage when one needs a change of clothing and when dressing/undressing. The bathroom is just about adequate in size and is very well appointed and finished to a high standard.

The bed was made in such a way that it was impossible to seperate the sheet from the blanket so it was no covers or a heavy blanket with the sheet. The staff was friendly but gave us the wrong directions regarding the use of the tube. Nice to have a choice of newspapers. Location near the tube station was a plus as you can get right off the Picadilly line from the airport with no changes. In better weather or maybe a room on a lower floor this would have been a much better experience.

Room was small (no place for luggage) but comfortable. Not great if you were looking to lounge in the room. Fully functional, free wifi and large safe for computers and things. Great location near Gloucester Road tube stop with a large grocery store across the street. Easy walk to museums and great restaurants. Good value for money!

We found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. They cheerfully held our bags for us and offered to let us check in early as soon as our room was clean. The had great ideas for restaurants and good advice for getting back to Heathrow at the end of our stay. The room was small, but the bed was comfortable, the bathroom was modern, and everything was clean. The location was very close to the Gloucester Road tube station which has the District, Circle, and Piccadilly lines. It felt like we were in a small hotel with friendly and personal attention. We had a room that faced away from the street and it was very quiet. We loved it here and would definitely recommend it to others!

An excellent little hotel in a beautiful area of london. There were works taking place to the facade of the building (nothing you can do there) and the breakfast was overly priced. Apart from that it was a comfortable stay.

I stayed in a single room on the second floor and the room was clean and modern with a double bed but very very small (I had to put my suitcase on the bed in order to shut the door). For a solo traveler it was fine, but I'm not sure I would recommend it for a couple. The location is fantastic, with literally everything you need within two blocks. Some staff are very friendly, others are not. Free WiFi and hairdryers in every room were great! This is an excellent hotel for the business traveler, but families/couples may want to look at some of the larger chain hotels on the same street.

Like most London hotels the rooms are small, especially compared to hotels in the United States, this however is really the only complaint I can make. Location is extremely convenient with Gloucester Road tube station one block away and the surrounding neighborhood is lively (quiet at night though) with lots of restaurants and cafes near by, there is also a nice grocery store directly across the street. The hotel is in an old housing complex (extremely common in London) that appears to be very recently renovated. The inside is clean and modern. Our room was on the 4th floor and had a great view of the street with windows that opened. The room it's self was very clean and had a contemporary style. The bathroom was excellent, clean, had a nice shower, and well lit. Free WiFi is available in the lobby and the hotel rooms. The service was amazing, the staff was always extremely polite and accommodated all our requests. Our flight didn't leave until 10 at night the day we checked out and the hotel held our bags so we could enjoy London during the day.

Just returned from here a couple of days ago and had a lovely stay. I was expecting the hotel room to be small but it was TINY (about three foot around the bed). However this didn't detract from our stay as it was very well decorated and the space was well utilised. I do think we got one of the smallest rooms there as the others looked bigger on the fire map on the wall. Our rate didn't include breakfast but there are plenty of places around to have something to eat. The hotel is really well located for all the London sites and if you don't fancy walking the tube is just across the road.

The Cromwell is a good hotel with an absolutely excellent location. The Picadilly Line tube station is under a block away and there are a couple of really good restaurants just across the street. It's a smaller hotel though, and that means they don't have many rooms with two beds. If that's a big concern then it may end up being a problem. We reserved a room a couple of months in advance and requested two beds. We arrived very early and were able to leave our bags with no problem and checked in, although no room was assigned at that time. When we returned later in the day, we were assigned a room with one double bed and told there they were fully booked and it was the only room available. We made it work but it wasn't as comfortable as it could have been and did bring down our satisfaction level. Luckily for us, we're friends!

Very nice hotel, although rooms are small. Lobby and lounge area are great, and the overall facility is in very good shape with free wireless internet. Bathroom was very well appointed! For a short stay, this is a very good hotel with a great location (near the Gloucester Road tube stop). Areas to improve - lift only goes to 4th floor (and we were on the 5th floor with 6 bags to carry up) and wireless internet doesn't work on the 5th floor. Also, the rooms on the 5th floor were very hot, and thus we had to run the air almost nonstop to keep it livable.
