"Meh. I've stayed in better for the price."
The room was clean, and the hotel is right across from Gloucester station, so it had that going for it. Otherwise, it was hot, stuffy, tiny, and altogether uncomfortable. I knew it would be small, which is fine, but it was basically a bed with 1 foot of space between each side of the bed and the wall. The television had 4 channels, 3 of which were fuzzy, […] and it was very hard to get the tv to turn on at all. Only soap/shampoo combo dispenser is provided in the shower (which was a nice a stand-up with a good shower head); no hand soap for the sink. There is a shelf over the bathroom sink for your toothbrush, water glass, etc., however, the shelf makes it very hard to wash your face or spit out your toothpaste into the tiny sink. The desk staff were not exactly rude, but they were definitely an unfriendly bunch - no hello's, no smiles, no warmth. Housekeeping only made the bed, but didn't bother to take away the dirty tea cups. Even though we were barely in the room (which is why we were ok with the small size), I really didn't want to come back to the room after an exhausting day of sight-seeing. Perfectly comfortable hotel. Loved the shower as I am tall and it had a high shower head and good pressure. Even with a desk and small table in the room it wasn't cramped. Liked that the WiFi was free and worked well. Easy walking distance to a number of good places to eat and take city tours from.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Lovely old hotel in convenient location"
We only stayed one night here but found the hotel very satisfactory. It's located in a great neighborhood that is close to shopping, the underground, and many restaurants. Our room on the second floor was not ready when we arrived but we were shown a larger room on the bottom floor which was perfect--no steps and one of the recently renovated rooms. […] The staff was helpful and friendly, eager to make our stay pleasant. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"great location, mediocre service"
The hotel is in a great neighborhood, safe, and right by the tube, which was crucial for us. Howere, we received little to no help on finding transportation to London Southend airport, even though we asked for it. Thankfully, the residents of London are much more friendly and helpful than some of the staff at this hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Very good location"
Nice hotel with easy access to most of sightseeing. Breakfast is a bit expensive, but there are a lot of eating places near. staff was very helpful.Genuine Expedia guest review
Room was standard, small for american standards, had outdoor balcony, good for warm weather, two minutes from underground, plenty of restaurants near by, grocery store and mini mart across streetGenuine Expedia guest review
The location for transportation is excellent. 1 minute to Underground station with 3 lines (Piccadily, District and Circle lines), easy to get to and from Heathrow airport. The room is not that big, beds are comfortable. The only downside is the hotel is on the main street, so it is noisy at night.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Vacation in London"
This is a nice hotel with an excellent staff located not too far from the sites in London. It is close to the tube and it made seeing the sites easy. There were some good restaurants within walking distance. Room was small, but adequate. If I go back to London, this hotel will be on the list.Genuine Expedia guest review
Nice Hotel, amazing staff work, room was perfectly clean every time we got back, close in town, beautiful walk around the city!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Overall great stay"
Great place to stay if you are visiting some major attractions in town. Clean, convenient to Underground and to Heathrow. Room a bit small comparing to US standards, but that is the norm.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
My room was exceptional quite. It was a pleasant week's stayGenuine Expedia guest review
"Beautiful location, small cold room."
Front desk were helpful and flexible. We were early and had just gotten off the "red-eye." At first they told us it would be several hours before we could get in a room but they called housekeeping and had the room ready in an hour. Although they considered it a "larger room" it was very small. Had to move single file in the room. Bathroom was spacious […] however. Main complaint about the room would be temperature. It was very cold all the time even with the thermostat set at 30 C (86 F). Needed 2 extra blankets which they were happy to provide. Location was ideal very close to many restaurants, Gloucester Road tube station, Hyde Park and museums. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Great location, friendly staff. Very small room and shower room, but a lovely little decked terrace in the greenery!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The first room I was given was on the main floor. Room was good but up in the ceiling was a vent open to the pipes above for the other rooms sinks and toilets. It made rushing water noise all day and night. It even sounded like there was a leak, dripping water. I called the front desk and requested to be moved. The trainee at the front desk was very […] courteous, kind and helpful and found another room for me. Right across the street is the Gloucester Station. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good reliable Wi-fi"
Good location. Room small. Bus stop in front. Tube underground transportation across the street. Big grocery store across the street. Lots of eateries around the hotel. Perfect for vacationers who are out all day due to accessibility. Bathroom clean.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Great hotel in a great location."
Clean and functional. Great location and close to tube.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel was nicely located for the attractions we were interested in seeing. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and very comfortable. Our room had a lovely terrace which I can imagine would be a great place to relax in warmer weather.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very good location"
Overpriced, like most places in UK. Staff quite friendly and willing to help.Genuine Expedia guest review
Pricey rooms and especially the cost of breakfast. Very disapponting in paying 12.5 pound or $20.00 US dollars per person.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
the Cromwell was wonderful! In a great area andnright next to the underground! We got upgraded since our room wasnt ready which was awesome! When we visit London, we will stay here againGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very nice location"
I've never before stayed in this part of London, but was looking for something on this side of town to help me get to know a new area. The hotel is right across the street from the Gloucester Road tube stop, which makes it very convenient. The hotel is, like many in this area, a bunch of townhomes that have been consolidated to form one larger property. […] Due to that, there are lots of tight hallways, stairs and quirky corners which may be a problem if someone in the group has mobility issues. (Also you must climb three tall stairs to enter the hotel, and it didn't seem to have an accessible entrance.) Our room curtains were broken, meaning that we couldn't completely close them, and our bathroom was always incredibly hot. That being said, I would still consider staying there again, as the proximity to the Tube, a Waitrose & Boots, made for a convenient location. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Best Western Cromwell"
As stated rooms are small but no smaller than most you'd find in NYC. It was very nice. Best part is the tube is literally just across the street. Perfect location to everything!! My parents had a great air conditioner in their room. Unfortunately ours didn't work at all. They came up to take a look but agreed it didn't work and offered a fan instead. […] Not the same as air conditioning at all! All rooms were full so that was the only solution. The staff were somewhat helpful but seemed more annoyed at times than anything. I would absolutely stay here again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good Location and Service"
We spent 3 nights there and we were very happy with the hotel. Location is excellent! Rooms are nice and clean, bathrooms seem new and have really nice showers. Our only complaint is that we were on the bottom floor and our small window made the room feel a little dark. Overall it was good!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"EXCELLENT END TO A GREAT TRIP"
After touring, visiting friends, shopping and a quick trip to Paris, this hotel was an excellent place to wind down and prepare for the flight home. The room was small, but adequate in size, quiet and comfortable, best we encontered on the trip. The service was outstanding. The location was great, restaurants closeby (within one block), both upscale […] and family stye. Shopping was in the same distance range. We were surprised when on Sunday the big cycling race came directly past the hotel and we had front row seats. We will definitely begin our stay there next time we go to London. "Great room for vacation"
The room was great. Pillows were fluffy feather pillows and very comfortable. I really appreciated the coffee, giant coffee mugs, and coffee accessories. We even got little jam cookies with coffee in our room. Bathroom was a good size, although the room itself was a little small, but for the price, you won't find anything bigger in London. It was just […] fine for sleeping. We were on vacation so we didn't spend much time in the room anyway. Overall a great place to stay on vacation for the price range. "hotel close to underground, centrally located"
standard room is small, hard to image two people in it, let alone one.Accommodations fairly basic, very small gym, hallways narrow, elevator small. Had a/c which was a blessing since it was warm and humid. Underground around corner, plenty of food options close to hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review
I stayed at the Best Western Cromwell earlier this month. We requested a room with two single beds as I was traveling with my sister. Our room was in the basement, which wasn't ideal but also was not the huge issue that I thought it would be. Our window provided plenty of light, and noise wasn't an issue at night. The cleaning crew took great care of […] our room and provided everything we needed. The best part of this hotel is its location. It is perfectly located in Kensington, so you can walk to Kensington Palace/Hyde Park, the Natural History Museum, the V&A museum, as well as great access to the Gloucester Road tube station. There are lots of food options around the neighborhood. There are also two tour bus companies that stop right in front of the Gloucester Road station that provided a great tour for your money. "Hotel location is the high spot, not the room size"
Very small quarters for two people, trying to move about. No drawer space for clothes. We couldn't unpack. We understand that rooms are generally small in Europe, but this was ridiculous for the price. We did request an upgrade at time of reservation. "Close to Everything"
Our stay made getting around London easy. You are right across the street from a major Underground station that will take you wherever you go (if you are going to be more than a couple days make sure to invest in an Oyster Card--much easier than paper tickets). Between the Underground and nearby bus stops, you can get to all the major attractions within […] 15-20 minutes. In addition, many of the tours pick up within a block or two and dropped us off right in front of the hotel. My only complaint was that the rooms were stuffy and the air conditioning unit VERY noisy when it was on. Good value for the cost (we got a deal of only about $200 per night American) considering other hotels in the area can run over $500 per night. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Central location to museums and easy access to underground. King sized bed a plus, but bathroom lacked basic good planning. Toilet in an awkward space but tolerable for one night.Genuine Expedia guest review
rooms were nicely and neatly furnished. Practical and very well situated to a nearby tube station. Only complain was a funky smell in the lobby, but the rooms were nice and clean.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I would recommend this hotel. The staff was helpful and pleasant. The hotel is very close to the tube station as well as two markets and numerous restaurants. The rooms were quiet and larger than rooms at a nearby hotel that we had previously stayed at.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Good Value; Great Location"
Had an eight night stay in mid-June. Comfortable and accommodating. Rooms are a bit small and no restaurant, but plenty nearby. The price was really right and we slept well despite being right on busy Cromwell Road. No problem. Probably wouldn't be realistic for a family with kids as the rooms didn't leave much space. We squeezed in and it worked perfectly […] for us, but we didn't spend time in the room but to get ready to go out and to sleep. Nice modern bathroom with big walk-in shower. "Good value in the heart of London"
It was tough to find a well rated hotel in London for less than $250/night. The Best Western Cromwell hotel foot the bill. Though the room was small, and in the basement, it was clean and comfortable. The shower was great; large, good water pressure, and consistent temperature (something that's we didn't find on the rest of our 2 week trip). The staff […] was friendly, and helped up find an airport transport after our car cancelled on us at 3am. It's not the most glamorous hotel room we've had, but it was a great value, especially in London. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Steps from the Tube"
The hotel was located in an older building - so the lift was small and older too. The room itself was clean and larger than I expected for London. The bathroom had a rain shower and then a hose. You can only work one at a time - which was annoying because the rain shower didn't really wash off soap and holding the hose was tough when rinsing off. Overall, […] the bathroom was nice but just wished that the shower was sorted better. The room was comfy with lots of outlets for charging our devices - especially near the bed which made setting alarms on our phones easy. The location couldn't be better, being close to Kensington Gardens, Tube stops on the Piccadilly/Circle and District Lines and lots of great restaurants. Really happy with the experience here and would highly recommend to anyone needing an affordable hotel in London. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Hotel is OK, but freezing room"
Hotel well located near Gloucester Rd. Room was freezing, even after leaving the heating on at max temperature for hours. Buffet breakfast is very overpriced for what it is, go to Garfunkel's across the street instead. Other than that, no worries.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Rooms need work"
Bathrooms: Towels looked and felt like 20 year old towels. Face clothes: Why aren't face clothes provided? Toiletries: No body lotion, mini shoe shiner, cotton facial rounds, q-tips, which were standard at my 3* hotel in Paris. We did always have a shower cap, which was silly. The multi-tasking in-bath tube, does not constitute toiletries. Lighting: […] room lighting terrible, we could hardly find things. Curtains: the inner curtains are filthy with city street soot. Mini Fridge/bar: why not have this available? Iron: ? TV: Where was the channel guide? Trash: trash liners so thin and cheap that you couldn't touch them without them ripping. Finally: I was expecting better for 4*. I will not book this hotel again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great place to stay for single travelers or couple"
This hotel is in a great location. A few shorts yards from Gloucester Road stop on the Piccadilly line for the tube. There is a pharmacy and a grocery store across the street. And it is just far enough out of the crazy part of London to be a place to relax after a hard day of trudging through London. It is also a short walk from the Albert & Victoria […] Museum. The room I stayed in was small, but functioned well for me as a single traveler. Had a double bed which is very rare for single traveler rooms. Bathroom was good size and everything functioned great. Staff were courteous and helpful. Everyday there was a breakfast available, full or contential, which was nice. However, there is a Starbucks and a Paul (fabulous pastry place) across from tube station which great to get some quick breakfast stuff. All in all this is a excellent option and I will stay there again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"NIce hotel in the heart of London, near Tube"
This hotel was great, close to the tube station. We had a leak in our bathroom sink faucet and the staff was very quick to respond and even offered to move our room for the last night of our stay but it wasn't really necessary.
