The Corus was a good value for the money - especially after walking into some of the other private hotels in the area....the room was clean and spacious by European standards. The towels were a little worn as was the carpet and the upholstered furniture - but the bed had crisp linens and the bath was very clean. With little time spent in the room, I would consider staying there again for the price.

"Location, location, location"
I guess that it is just the european standard of small tubs and shower facilities. There were some light fixtures not working, few towels, no washcloths, and the in-room coffee and tea provided was for one person only. One desk clerk was outstanding, the rest of the staff only average. And lastly, it would be nice to have at least one person on staff […] who speaks english as a first language. "Great staff, great location, small room."
Two things made this a great hotel, and neither had to do with the room itself. The room had problems with the AC and the shower (and it is small, but this is part of being in Europe, and we spent very little time in the room). The great things are the staff, and location. The staff took care of every problem we had the first day, while we were out. […] They even went out and bought a fan for us just for the white noise (we weren't used to the traffic noise). They also let us put our stuff in our room before check in, so we could start sightseeing right away. And you cannot beat the location. Right across the street from the underground. And best of all, this station is connected to THREE lines, one is direct to Heathrow (we rode the regular tube from the airport and saved nearly $100 on a taxi ride). Very easy to do. Plenty of places to eat nearby. All round a great experience, but don't expect a large room. There were only three of us and it was CROWDED to walk around in. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Great service, great location, easy access to the tube. No complaints. For the price, really great for London.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location"
Excellent location. It's a two minute walk to the subway. There is a market across the street where u can stock up on water and snacks. Free Wi-Fi was a plus. The room is small but clean and we spent most of our day doing touristy things anyway.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Short London Visit"
Friendly staff, great location. About 50 minutes from Heathrow via the tube. Tube station across the street with access to 3 lines. Natural History museum short walk exit left from hotel. Good eating and drinking in neighborhood. When in London we are staying here.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Right across from Glouster station and very close to museums, Hyde Park, Harrod's, etc. Quiet, clean, cozy room and very nice front desk staff.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location, friendly staff, clean room."
Had a great experience at The Cromwell. Staff was very friendly and helpful... recommended a fantastic Indian restaurant when we checked in after 8pm (Memories of India, 5 minute walk around the corner on Gloucester Road). Location is perfect... central London, across the street from the Gloucester Road tube station on the Picadilly line. Can take […] the tube from Heathrow to Gloucester Road with no changes... very nice after a 10 hour flight. Room was small compared to what Americans are used to, but it served it's purpose... clean, comfy bed and a shower. If you're in London and you're doing anything more than sleeping and showering in your hotel, you should rethink your priorities. I stayed at The Cromwell on a recommendation from my brother and I have to pass that recommendation on... great place to stay. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Nice mid-range hotel at a convenient location"
This is a nice hotel with comfortable and modern, albeit quite small (which is typical for London) rooms. The staff was always very friendly and helpful. This hotel is suitable for midrange budgets, with a great location in South Kensington - very close to the Gloucester Road underground station and several shopping and dining venues. Also within walking […] distance of Harrod's. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"BestWestern, the Cromwell.."
Overall the hotel was very good. I knew going in the room was small and could deal with that. What was annoying was the lack of storage, the mini closet had hangers too wide for it which made it almost useless.. One drawer on thre desk and one shelf in bath.. Even in such a limited space there is a way to add storage.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Good!"
We were very happy to choose this hotel. ( my husband, my son and I). The tube is across the street, coffee and restaurants are very close to the hotel, also the museums. Very nice neigbourhood. The price was reasonable. I mean if I would go to London again, I would definitely stay in this hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review

New, updated rooms. Comfortable bed and píllows. Sheets super clean. A few things were a little dusty like the remote control and toiletry. Other than that the room was spotless, clean sheets and towls. The staff is nice. Super close to subwayGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Cromwell-- Good Value, Great Location"
The location across from the Gloucester Rd tube station is great, with direct access to three lines. South Kensington is a good neighborhood, though Cromwell Rd is a very busy street. Restaurants, groceries, drug store, etc all right there. Well-run hotel with a nice staff. Some rooms are very small; I basically had a single room with a double bed crammed […] in. Hints: 1) Don't buy hotel breakfast-- same thing at half price half a block away; 2) The Change Bureau next door has some of the best rates in town for changing cash. "Lovely suprise"
I really enjoyed this property. It was so close to the tube and it was Picadillly Line which is the line from Heathrow. It was only 2.70 to take tube to airport. Loved that feature. Staff was very friendly. I was very impressedGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Best Western The Cromwell in London - Good bet."
It was certainly a small room, but not unusably so, and I only needed a place to shower and sleep. One block from the Gloucester Road tube station (Picadilly, District, and Circle lines), walking distance to the Natural History Museum, and a nice neighborhood overall. Bathroom was in good shape, the carpet could have used a cleaning, and there were […] a lot of scuff marks on the wall, I'm assuming due to suitcases being hauled around in tight quarters, but I've definitely stayed in worse. The price was right for the accomodations and location, I will be happy to stay there again and recommend it to my friends. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Best Western the Cromwell"
First stay here. Got a good price next to other hotels in the area. Have stayed at many others in area. This hotel is very good. Lobby not that exciting. Room was newly updated in a modern style, with free wi-fi and very nice. Only had a limited room service menu and only continental breakfast served in room. A minor complaint, and not noticeable if […] you are not interested in that. Had a double bed, and one mattress, obviously the one most used, since nearest to bathroom, etc. was saggy, but other mattress was like new. Otherwise, a fine place to stay. Staff very helpful as well. Would stay again for the right price. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location -- good value and attentive staff"
Our room/bath were small but had everything we needed. It was clean, and the bed was comfortable, a/c worked well, and it was remarkably quiet for its placement on a busy road. "Best Western The Cromwell--London"
The hotel staff is friendly and efficient, and the building was recently refurbished. The location in Kensington is convenient to sites like Kensington Garden, Royal Albert Hall and the Victoria and Albert. The Gloucester Road tube station is a block away, and there are shops, grocery stores and restaurants in very close proximity. Great location! My […] only two complaints are minor: the lift only goes to the 4th floor but there are 6 floors in the hotel. The bell staff is helpful with luggage. The other issue was that my room was so tiny I could barely move in it. The bathroom sink was too small to fill up the tea kettle, for instance. It was clean and well-decorated, but I must have bumped my head on the dormer window 10 times in one evening trying to navigate around the room. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Excellent location, decent room by London standards"
We stayed just one night and were lucky enough to get a room on the top floor facing out on Cromwell Rd., so we got plenty of light from the street. The room was Executive Standard size, which is big by London hotel room standards but still small by US standards. It was clean, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom had one light out but was otherwise […] fine. The room was a bit stuffy when we got there but we turned on the a/c and it cooled things down enough. The only problem was that one of the two elevators was broken so we had to go through this maze of hallways to use the other one, and I was worried it would break down, too--it's really tiny and kind of slow going up and down. Breakfast i s not complimentary here, although they do have serve it, it was 9-12 pounds (about $15-20), so we skipped it and got food from the Waitrose supermarket right across the street. There are also bakeries a block away and a 24 hour Tesco Express if you need any food. Overall, pretty good hotel, for a decent price, in a great neighborhood. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Fantastic stay"
We were pleasantly surprised with our stay! The room decor and cleanliness was top notch. The surrounding area is wonderful with tons of amenities. Our room was next to the elevator, but we didn't hear it at all! So quiet. Right next to the tube, and on the piccadilly line, so it's easy to get everywhere, including Heathrow airport! We are a family […] of three, so the "family room", was one double bed and a pull out leather sofa. My nine year old enjoyed the novelty of the sofa bed!! Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. "Never again."
Unless you're a buisnessman with a suit and 2 shirts in your lugagge, for a 2 night stay, don't go there. Rooms are so tiny i couldn't open my lugagge. Stayed in the 5th floor, the elevator goes up to the 4th and the recepcionist asked if i wanted someone to help me if i needed so... i had 2 very heavy bags... The shower flooded after less than 2 min. […] Not a figure of speech, less than 2 min! And the shower delivered a ridiculous(very little) amaount of water, it was unbeliavable! Location is good, there is free wi-fi and that's all. I'll never go back. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Clean but Miniscule Rooms"
Yes, this is England and as long-time travelers to Europe we know rooms are generally small, but the photographs on the hotel page are deceiving; the room (or should I say closet) we had for 2, on the 5th floor, was tiny; only one person could be standing in the room while the other had to either be in the bathroom or laying on the bed. The room was […] quite clean, and the bathroom, although again very tiny, was modern and also clean. There is no air conditioning in the room and the small window opening allows for only a small amount of fresh air; not ideal for travel during the warms summer months. One person would likely find the room sufficient, but it's simply far too small for two nearly six-foot tall adults. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Functional and clean at best"
The hotel is conveniently located and clean, but that's it. The rooms are excruciatingly small with the bed only a knees space from the wall. You'll be lucky if your room has a window! Lastly we had a run in with the staff who charged us additional money because we couldn't get them off the phone to get downstairs fast enough to check out.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Best Western - Cromwell; easy location"
Travelling with kids and appreciated the location (grocery across the street and on/off tour bus 2 blocks away). Heavy drapes to allow for sleeping in day light. Rooms were small, but we pretty much just slept there. Front desk held our bags before and after room availability which we appreciated. Metro 2 blocks away. Safe, clean, air conditioned room. "Best Western The Cromwell - perfect!"
Perfect! Perfect! Perfect! Location, cleanliness, hospitality - the best yet! My only concern, because it is not a complaint, was the size of our room. I was a bit surprised to see that our bathroom was just as large as the sleeping area. I'm not sure of the size of the room we had, but there was no picture showing how little our room would be. Normally, […] it is not a big deal for my husband and I as we usually travel light. But, the hotel was a stopover for us on our way to a three week holiday. Needless to say, by the time both of us settled our two suitcases each with carryons to match, we were a bit cramped. Overall though, as I said, location, staff, and hospitality were top-notch. Just wish our room was a bit bigger. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Five minutes from the tube station with shopping and restaurants across the street. The room was very small, but still a good deal in London. My only complaint would be the desk staff when we arrived. He acted as though we were interrupting him to check in.Genuine Expedia guest review

"London, June, 2011"
The only problem we encourtered was that our room # was 501 and the elevator only went to the 4th floor. You had to walk and carry luggage one floor. For most people that is okay, but some Senior Citizens, a problem. Thank you.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

The Cromwell is in an ideal location to take the Underground to just about anywhere in London. The staff was pleasant and efficient. "Best Western The Cromwell - Comfort and Convenienc"
At first I thought the hotel was a little out of the way, but it's actually very easy to get anywhere in London from there, as the Gloucester Road tube station is right across the street. The neighborhood of Kensington is beautiful and clean, and the Natural History Museum and Victoria and Albert Museum are only a couple of blocks away. There was also […] a pretty good variety of restaurants within walking distance. The service at the hotel itself was good - the staff members were friendly and went out of their way to answer questions, make restaurant recommendations and help me get a taxi to the airport. Since I was traveling alone, my room was tiny, with a single bed, tucked away in a corner on the 5th floor. FYI the elevator only goes up the the 4th floor, so if you have heavy bags you will definitely need assistance! As small as the room was, it was enough for me, and I was really impressed with the efficient use of what space there was. Plus, it was modern and spotless - nice toiletries too! My only complaint was that I was unable to set the temperature of the room to be as cool as I would have liked - it stops going down at 19 degrees celsius. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay there and would definitely stay at The Cromwell again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"The Cromwell"
One bus stop at the entrance, 1 a block away along the tube station, making it easy to access transportation to different areas in London. The hotel is easy to get to from the major station & airport. Requires tube changes from the train stations, the tube from the hotel location - does not require any changes and takes at least 30 minutes. Peak travel […] hours may require additional time. The tubes get very busy and crowded making it difficult to bring language. Walking distance to Hyde Park, Natural Museum, Albert & Victory Museum, Harrods, short walk to a main street lined with shops & places to eat. A 10 -15 minute tube ride bus ride to Whitefield a huge major shopping mall. Rooms were clean, roomy, staff exceptionally helpful & friendly. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice but very compact"
The hotel was nice and the people were great, but beware of the compact size. My room was very small, which was not a problem on a short visit, but the bathroom was tiny and awkward. In particular, the only place to put anything in the bathroom was a shelf above the sink. When I tried to wash my face or brush my teeth, I found the shelf between my face […] and the faucet. And I had to shave in a shadow -- the only light was a small spotlight directly overhead. I wasn't enough of a contortionist to position my face where the light was shining. A little bathroom redesign would go a long way! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
