"Great Option for London"
The Best Western Cromwell was clean, quiet, comfortable, and very convenient. I have stayed in Knightsbridge a few times & this is my favorite hotel. It is directly accross the street from the Gloucester Road tube station. The gym is small, but clean and modern. The room I had was small and in the basement, but it has been well updated and the bed was […] very comfortable. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. "Great location small rooms"
Not unusual for London but the rooms are tiny. Everything is clean and the staff is very helpful and polite. the Breakfast was very good and it's in a great location.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Overpriced, but did the job"
Great location, clean room.... I have stayed in a lot of hotels in Europe, and this hotel room was SMALL even by European standards. The room was freezing cold when we arrived and didn't actually feel warm until the next morning even though the heater ran all night. We stayed two nights, and we asked for more towels on the second day and were met with […] reluctance, but other than that the staff was very helpful. Probably wouldn't stay again, as there are better, more inexpensive hotels in the same neighborhood (they were all unavailable on our travel days). Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Far from best Western"
The elevator did not go as far as the floor with the room. The Internet did not work properly. This was most frustrating as it was a main reason for booking this hotel. The Internet was useless and the hotel should not claim to offer it!Genuine Expedia guest review
Great staff, very efficient, free wifi. Would stay there again.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Dank, windowless basement rooms"
Fairly shocked to find I'd been assigned a basement room, but kept an open mind. The room never got warm, as there was a continuous damp draft, the carpet had large bumps underneath, which you trip over when walking on the floor, and several light bulbs were burned out. The room featured curtains over a fake window- basically white-spray-painted glass […] installed into a picture frame, to make one 'feel' as if there was a window. The rest of the hotel is fine, service was friendly, and the location is fantastic as it's right near the Glouster Road tube station. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Good location for walking to appointments; fantastic breakfast; quiet - even if you open a window! For NYC that's a big plus.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Dirty room with no heat"
I have been to London many times and this was by far THE WORST experience ever. I was initially shown to a room with hair on the sheets, dried blood on a bathroom towel, fingerprints everywhere, and dirty walls. When I complained, I was shown to a new room with little apology; the staff seemed to think I was just being picky. Upon returning the next […] evening, when the outside air was -1 Celsius, I entered my room to find it at 8 degrees! When I reported the problem, I was asked if while I was away, I had left my extra room key in the slot just inside the door. I had not. I was told that someone should have informed me when I checked in to do so in order to have constant heat. When I pointed out that a system which requires a room key for lights (and in this case ALSO heat) in intended to conserve energy, and like most hotels guests take their key with them. I was met with a blank stare. So, at 2:00am, with no maintenance staff on call, I had to wait almost an hour to get the heat back on -- which is why they leave it on all the time. I asked the desk for a an herbal tea to warm me up; I was brought an unwrapped teabag in a bare hand and told to heat some water in my room. This hotel is poorly managed and, as an American, I assure you that it does NOT live up to the standard this U.S. franchise is known for. I urge anyone to consider other options... especially in winter. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Great value for money. Very friendly and efficient staff. Very good location in West London. Good restaurant choices around. Across the street from tube station.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Perfect for a weekend getaway"
Excellent friendly staff Great location Affordable With a friend, we stayed in a two twin room. While small, we had ample closet space. Bathroom was adequate size. During the night there was noise from the pipes that would be a problem for someone that is a light sleeper.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Not bad for the price"
The room was small but that is to be expected in London. The bed wasn't overly comfortable (kinda hard) but was clean and we had a private bathroom. The window would not open so we were unable to get fresh air in the room. They said it was a non-smoking room, but there was definitely a "smokey" smell in the air. The staff was extremely friendly and […] helpful. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Not bad, but odd floor plan"
Kensington is my favorite part of London so this location was outstanding. The hotel was expensive (it is London). The room and the staff were nice. We were upgraded without request to a garden room. It would be a good room in nicer weather. It was REAL confusing to find the room. In fact we never came to our room the same way twice in two days! It […] involved some up 1/2 stairs, down 1/2 stairs, then up 1/2 stairs since the lift could not service this room. Nevertheless, we enjoyed our stay. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

I was super impressed with how friendly the hotel staff was especially guest registration. As an ignorant American I booked a Double Room expecting it to be 2 beds but in UK Double means double bed not two beds. Fortunately the nice staff changed it. Thank youGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great location but do not depend on wifi"
The hotel was in a great location. In keeping with European standards, the room was small but comfortable. The halls and elevator were narrow but again very typical for Europe. The place was very clean and tidy. Our only complaint was the wifi. They advertised free wifi but the signal was terrible. It only worked in the reception/lounge area but not […] in the room. Even in the reception area, it worked spottily because their service under-served the demand. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
We stayed at the Best Western for 3 nights when visiting London. Good location, very close to the London Underground. Room was small, but clean. TV blurry, but did not care because we were there to sight see. Elevator slow at times, but again just a minor detail. Would stay here again if rate was less expensive.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The room was ridiculously small... We expected small, but this was SMALL. It was pretty clean. The staff was very friendlyGenuine Expedia guest review
"Very convenient to museums, etc"
Single room.. up in 'attic' on 5th floor. Elevator only went to 4th! Room Very tiny. Sloped ceiling. High small window. Claustraphobic. Bathroom very nice...remodelled well. Wifi problems in room...to lobby. Very convenient but will not stay here in single again!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"So-so At Best"
Informed the front desk that wifi wasn't working for me - up on floor 4 -and was given an " oh well" answer and told to come down there or at the bar for a stronger signal maybe. Plus an elevator/ lift went out and they hadn't repaired it for the whole three days I was there. Probably also had an " oh well" attitude to that. This just isn't a four star […] hotel. The best part about the hotel is the location. Just south of Hyde Park and across the street from a tube stop. Great restaurants in the area too. The room was very small but clean. The shower was great but we had no hot water one night. The hotel staff was horrible, unhelpful and rather rude. Had they been nice and helpful I would recommend this to […] someone...but they ruined it for themselves. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Close to Tube Station"
The room was small, but was very nice. We liked the small balcony off our room that looked out on the garden. It was really close to a tube station on the Piccadilly line, which is what we were aiming for.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good location and pleasent staff."
I was at this hotel for one night. I used the gym which you have to get a separate key card and sign a waver prior to using it. Room is small. But I didn't spend much time in it. It was clean and adequate for my purpose. Breakfast had a buffet of hot foods.Genuine Expedia guest review
"We'll be back"
The location is great, Hyde Park, the Vic and Al, Royal Albert Hall, Herrods, nice cafes and restaurants, all only a few minutes walk. Attentive staff. Considering London costs, it was a good deal. It would have been nice to have had openable windows, however.Genuine Expedia guest review
The location was fantastic, the room extremely small (to be somewhat expected in Europe, but still small by European standards). The worst thing was their wifi which practically did not work most of the time. Also, VERY limited tv channels and no fridge in room... All in all an ok hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This is a great hotel in Central London. Check in was very easy, we arrived early in the morning and the staff was able to hold our bags until we checked in later in the day. The staff was very helpful with all of our needs and questions we had regarding the city of London. This hotel is in a great location, within a five to ten minute underground (tube) […] ride to all main areas and attractions in the city. The underground station ( Gloucester RD) is very close, across the street from the hotel, We took the underground from Heathrow Airport to the underground station. The area is very nice, super market, drug store, and nice restaurants and pubs very close by which was nice to walk to. The rooms are very clean and comfortable, Very quiet at night. The rooms are on the small side like many European hotel rooms. It was just fine for my wife and I during our stay. We were out exploring most of the day and night, we mainly used the room for sleeping and showering etc. Who goes to London to sit in a hotel room? We booked the standard, or smallest room at the hotel. We will definately stay at this hotel again when returning to London. The price is great, it is in a nice, safe area, and close to all attractions in the city. I greatly recommend this hotel when staying in London and trying not to spend a fortune on a hotel. "So-So stay at Best Western Cromwell Road"
The room was very small, especially for a 4 star "AA" rated hotle and the price paid. The decor and styling were modern but the room had a musty almost moldy smell that I assume was from the lack of ventalation and possibly an air conditioning unit that was not properly drained. My luggage and clothing reaked of this smell upon departure. Luckily that […] departure was a return to home were I immediately washed and sanitzed everything. The location is OK but I think you could stay closer to the city for the price paid and probably find a larger room as well. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great hotel for families, convenient location!"
Very central location - just 2 min walk from Gloucester Rd station. 2-5 min walk to Bureau de Change, pubs, popular restaurants, museums. Loved the location!! I took the underground straight to Heathrow without problems. The concierge and staff were very helpful in calling taxis for us, giving us directions and tips on local eateries...Genuine Expedia guest review
The first problem was a dangerous narrow staircase to the cellar, there was not enough room to carry your luggage beside you I had to let my luggage fall to the bottom on its own. We requested a room with two beds and got a room with one bed for myself and my adult daughter. The window did not open and it had bars on it. I would have never thought that […] somebody would try and make a motel room that small. After calling the reception we were moved to a nicer room upstairs that had two beds and enough space for our luggage if one of us put ours on the counter with the TV. This was the smallest room I've ever stayed in. On the bright side, it was clean and very close to the tube station. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great hotel for family or couples."
Our recent stay was very nice. The couple we were with had a much smaller room, however. The hotel staff was superb. There was a mix-up with our airport transportation when we were leaving the morning of August 30. However, this error was totally our fault, and not that of the staff, and I want to make that perfectly clear.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great Choice for a Weekend Getaway in London"
As other reviewers said, the room is kind of small, but it is not unbearable. It is great for the cost and it is in a great location, so really people shouldn't be complaining. Maybe it would be cramped for a family, but for a couple it was perfect. It is right by the tube station and a good tube station at that. Several lines run through it, and you […] can go directly from Heathrow to the station at the hotel without having to transfer lines (and it only cost 2.90, but just fyi: it will take about 30/35 minutes). You are also in a good neighborhood, plus close to the museums, plus only a 10 minute direct tube ride to all the tourist sights (ie Westminster Abbey). The staff was nice and super helpful. Check in and checkout were a breeze. I'd recommend it. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Nice hotel for the price"
Room was tiny, you can't open the door all the way because it would hit the bed. Bathroom was nice but small, the shower was probably the best feature of the room as it is really nice with strong water pressure. Bed was comfy but definitely not what I would consider a 4* hotel because of the room size.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice and convenient."
The room was very nice. Initially the wifi was not working, but the issue was resolved quickly. There was a problem with the airconditioning, however, that was never resolved. The location is superb. Close to the bus and underground. Nice neighborhood. Close to the Victoria and Albert Museum and walking distance to Hyde Park.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Worst Experience Ever"
We were placed in the basement of this hotel. If you like to hear the roar of traffic all through the night, then this room would be for you. The biggest problem we had was the urine smell in the bathroom that had not been cleaned in a long time. I pulled a staff member aside the request a clean, however, my family had to remain in this room and smell […] this for our stay. I stay in many hotels, and I would have thought that someone would have moved us or made an attempt in helping with this BAD ISSUE. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great location - everything else, not so much."
The stay at this hotel was absolutely terrible, I will never ever stay here again. Everyone who worked there had difficulty speaking English and it was a task to communicate with them on even a basic level - check in and out was a disaster. The power went out more than once in our room while there, the internet went out and was so bad that I had to […] go to the nearby Starbucks to access my work emails! And this was not a cheap hotel stay, you would think for the price per night night they would at least have working internet! The gym was disgusting, and the housekeeping did a terrible job cleaning the bathroom. One day housekeeping came and I was still in the room, I told them I would be leaving in a half hour and the housekeeper gave me the most disgusted look and said "oh my god, another half hour?" and then sighed and just walked away. After that I called the front desk and let them know I no longer wanted housekeeping to come for the rest of my stay - who knows what she would have done to my things! Also, the elevator went out and was unavailable for the last 2 days - I had 3 suitcases that I had to walk down 4 flights of stairs when I checked out. If I was staying at a really cheap place, OK, that's fine - and yes, Best Western isn't luxury, but basic power and internet you would expect for what I paid. Trust me, stay clear of this place! There's plenty of other hotels in the area that I'm sure are MUCH better! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Miniscule freezing attic room."
Very disappointing. As a single traveler I was put in an absolutely tiny, dark attic room with a minute window in a sloping roof. I could stand on the (single) bed and touch both walls easily - the wall was 1 foot from the bed on one side, and about 1.5 feet on the sloping ceiling side. I think this is the smallest hotel room I have ever stayed in, […] and I have stayed in some pretty small hotel rooms in capital cities all over Europe, so this is saying something. It was impossible to change the setting on the air conditioning from anything other than freezing, but I suppose it was good that I even had air conditioning. Lighting was poor - lamp by bedside didn't work. Internet was hopeless - signal seemed strong, but couldn't actually get to any webpages to load. Avoid at all costs if you are on business travel. Location is great, the hotel overlooks Gloucester Road tube, but I suppose that is what you are paying for. Staff were helpful. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Good hotel, small rooms"
The Cromwell is in a great loction near Hyde Park and very close to the underground. We really enjoyed our stay but for some reason I was expecting the rooms to be a little bigger. This was the last hotel we stayed at during our two week European vacation and it was one of the smaller rooms we stayed in. "Good Location, Friendly, Not sure about Value"
Staff at The Cromwell is unmistakably friendly and will go out of their way to greet, help, and service your needs. Staff kept soft drinks in their fridge for us. During my 5 nite stay, WIFI at hotel was useless, I heard other guests complain, it only worked in lobby and at speeds slower than a turtle. Room was clean, bathroom very clean, room was small […] but functional. The only minor complaint, occasionally you could hear hallway noise. At the time I booked the room, this hotel seemed to be a good value for the location. After check-in and encountering the WIFI issue, I looked for alternative local options and discovered better value. The walkup room rate at four star hotel next door, for 3 of 4 remaining nites was 28% cheaper than what I had pre-paid. All said and excluding WIFI, I left The Cromwell with a positive experience. Pro – Staff, location, clean room. Con – questionable value, hallway noise, don’t count on using WIFI Neighborhood is safe and clean, but I did witness and stop an attempted pick-pocket by a 10 year old boy. Location is great, a block from the Gloucester Road tube station and if you like to walk you are 1 mile to Harrods or Kensington Whole Foods, Kensington Palace, 2 miles to Piccadilly Circus, Oxford Circus, <3 miles to Westminster Abbey/Big Ben or Charing Cross/Trafalgar Square, and 4.5 to St. Paul's. "Amazing Customer Service"
Well this review is a bit unusual. We booked a garden view room at this hotel, but when we went to check in they said there was a problem and they didn't have a room for us at this hotel. My first thought was that we were going to be put up at some cheap hotel, but much to my surprise they said that they booked us a room across the street at their sister […] hotel. They promptly helped my wife and I with our bags as we walked just five minutes to the hotel across the street. We were greeted there and promptly got checked into our room. This is where we were very plesed. They booked us a junior suite at a 4 star hotel and when we entered our room there was a bottle of wine from the Best Western as a small gift for the mixup and wishing us a pleasant stay in London. The room was absolutely amazing and much more expensive than the one we originally booked. I have never had a hotel go so far above what was necessary to fix a problem. It was a pleasant surprise and I will definitely stay at Best Western the Cromwell during my next trip to London. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
