I am giving a rating of 1 only because I have too. this motel had the worst staff I have ever faced before in any customer service outfit. I had a tiny little 20 something little girl begin calling very horrid names for no reason. She began yelling and screaming at everyone in our room. By far the dirtiest, nastiest, most run down place I have ever stayed. Stains on the carpet and upholstered furniture. Dirty/stained sheets, pillowcases and bath towels... I had to dry off with a hand towel because the bath towel had black spots all over it. Lots of vagrants hanging around, my husband and I called it the vagrant bond. I reserved 3 rooms and each one was disgusting and dirty from the sheets and towels being stained to the walls being dingy and holes in the walls that had been covered up with a very poor job. We even had duct tape covering a hole in our bathroom door - that wouldn't shut. If you are a serious chain smoker, this is the Motel for you. In fact, you could find the place just by the cigarette smoke in the parking lot. We booked two nights here because all the other hotels in Chico and Paradise were filled. We should've tried Oroville. The "non-smoking" room reeked of cigarettes. The furniture and towels were all stained. There was no maid service during our stay, so we had to ask for replacement towels for the second day. Our door-key cards stopped working after […] the first day and had to be reset. Only two positives: the WiFi worked fine, and the pool looked OK. There were dust webs in the shower. The room was very shaby and run down. There was no one at the desk when we arrived and the sign pointing to a bell to ring was very unclear. The night clerk was unhelpful, however the day clerk was nice. I would not stay there again and would rather sleep in the car.

When we pulled up to the motel, it was dirty from the outside- I wish we would have left then. In the office area where we checked in, it stunk like someone had been chain smoking- not sure if it was the actual office, or the person behind the counter. There were stains on the sheets, the sheets had a grey tinge to them, there were stains (poo?) on the side of the mattress and something splattered on the inside of the curtains (blood?). I should have read all the reviews. It definetly is in a convenient location, a name brand, but not clean. I didn't walk on the carpet without my shoes. The room (#107) was designated non-smok'g but it smelled of smoke.....we had a really bad night....the room "stunk" so bad that our PJs, etc smelled & had to place in separate bag 'til we got home to wash......we checked-in late & checked-out "early"....the room & beddings, including bedspread, need real "cleaning"...we requested a clean bedspread nite […] clerk said it was clean but it "stunk" --if not smoke than lack of cleaning....I' wonder if the owner/mgr ever sleeps in these "stinky" rooms...Totally ugly!!! The people were nice and hospitible. The room was in dire need of repair. My bed frame was missing the middle support and had sway-back, the exaust fan in the bathroom was missing the grill and did not work, there were a couple of light bulbs burned out and the bathroom sink poured out onto the floor whenever used. You get what you pay for here. The rooms are not the cleanest and are pretty run down, but the location is great for visiting the kid at college for the weekend. On the plus side, the motel staff was friendly and the AC worked great. It's a serviceable place to sleep for a night, just don't set your expectations too high going in.

I believe this hotel also rents out on the monthly basis. This is a very dirty sketchy hotel. Lady in the office was nice but that was the only nice thing. Cracks in the wall, TV color was green and purple, stain drips down the walls, I didn't not sit on the furniture because they were covered in stains, loud neighbors, homeless neighborhood.

I had to ask 4 times to have my room looked at for a malfunciton, They could not fix it so I was given another option. Lots of shady folks in the hotel area. Staff is in and out of rooms smoking non stop.

We arrived on a Friday night to attend my nephew's Nat'l Guard award event the following morning. We could not get any sleep due to the noise in the parking lot all night.
