Signage could have been better, drove past it twice before we spotted the tiny sign almost hidden. No restaurant on site, but number of family restaurants nearby, which was convenient. International is VERY busy roadway. The shuttle to Universal was nice, but only once daily each way. Ended up taking a cab back because it was raining and 3 hours before […] the shuttle came back. None of the ice machines worked, except one on the the second floor, which was very irritating. Did not appear to be any attempt to repair as they looked like they had been out of service a while. Water was turned off due to a plumbing problem, and were unable to shower before going out. Breakfast was bleak. Would have been nice to have some fruit and yogurt, and a better vareity of cereal. The hotel room was reasonably clean but poorly maintained with cracking plaster and missing trim. The hallways and under stairs was particularly filthy. Towels were not available on 2 occasions even after we requested them. Breakfast consisted of bread products, cold cereal, milk, juice (when the machine wasn't empty) and coffee. The location of the Hotel is fantastic, the front desk service is very friendly and respectfull, however the conditions of the rooms were very poor. the tub was clog and the water had a bad smell, the mattresses were very old and unconfortable.

We found our room clean but very old and in great need of an upgrade. There were not enough outlets for our phones unless we wanted to unplug a light or the TV. We chose this hotel for the location and were very pleased with the convenience, our room was clean but shabby.

The hotel is in a great location, we enjoyed our short drive to Universal Studios which was only about 3 minutes away. However, our t.v. didn't work and we requested for it to be checked out and nothing happened. House keeping was terrible, our bedding was just piled up. I was very disappointed to come to our room after being gone all day and finding […] our window curtains wide open and everything so messy. The breakfast was very disappointing, we only went to it once and then decided it was best to buy something elsewhere. The pool is pretty big but unfortunately we only had time to go swimming once. Our room had no fridge or microwave. I guess you get what you pay for. Since our main focus was to spend all day at Universal Resort we really just needed a place to sleep. Beware of this place!! The loacation great, however the area is very noisy!!! The room was terrible and bed very uncomfortable, when we asked for extra towels there were none!!! The water pressure in the shower is awful!!! Also none of the outlets worked except for the ones behind the TV!!!

The MOTEL is in an ok location. Not worth $100. The staff was ok. If it's last minute and you know you want spend a large amount of time in the room, then it'll do. But, if you have several options, this shouldn't be one of them.

Ok if you are needing a place to sleep but not much more than that. Beds are kind of hard in my opinion as well as lumpy and sag towards the middle. Internet is not great and if there is a problem you have to call an 800 number to fix it yourself. Location is somewhat with in walking distance but with all the walking you do in the park you may want […] to forgo walking to universal. Other hotels are nicer looking than this one and most likely closer to universal. Lots of close by souvineer shops and other fun little shopping places. The front desk staff was OK. The cleanign staff was OK...even the Continental breakfast was OK.... But the only thing that stood out was that I had to shower one body part at a time, and then rince it before the soap could dry. That sounds odd doesn't it? Well the water pressure was below that of any other time in my life where I tried to take a shower.... […] the bath tub pressure was OK, but when I flipped it over to the showerhead barely any pressure was transfered. The price was great, but when we arrived from the parks tired, and wanting a nice shower, we had no hot water, no one tried to accommodate us, I traveled with two eldery, and a child.

This hotel/motel charges "resort fees" for amenities that are not available. They explain the "resort fees" are due to their location on International Drive. If the room is booked through a third party, it appears they put you in Building C which is closest to the freeway. Don't expect a quiet night. HJ is not highly recommend for looks but the location is great. They need a serious upgrade. I asked for a late check-out, I was told 11am was the latest. Most hotels allow you to check out at 12pm.

We booked Howard Johnson International Drive ( Orlando ) thinking we would experience the same level of customer service we have received in other hotels of this same chain. But this was not nearly true, we had the worst experience ever. Since we checked in we realized that there was a deck where we could smoke and chat, we asked the frontdesk about […] the rules for the use of the deck and they said that as far we were not being loud,we could stay there all night, however the night auditor "Paul" didn't like this idea,one night he came up to the deck, kicking chairs and screaming at two of the guys in the group in English(these two didn't speak english to well),when I went down to ask what was going on in a calm and respectful way, he started to scream at me and to give me attitude, when I asked him why he was acting like that he said that no foreign was going to tell him how to act and if we were not going to follow rules we could get the .... out of his hotel, at this moment he called the police on us saying that all of us were at the front desk making trouble, when the only one at the front desk was me, a girl.I think he needs medical treatment,that's no way to treat customers,specially because the guys were just smoking and all the rooms near the deck were being booked by us,therefore the only ones listening to the guys outside were us and we can assure that they were not making any noise.He should not be in the hotel business or in the customer service business at all.
