I enjoyed my stay. Staff were very helpful. I didn't have a room with bathtub but they did move me to one when I asked. They helped to get a taxi, which arrived early and gave info about the train station. They said I could print off train tickets but I couldn't get the computer to work in the downstairs lobby. I couldn't skype on the free internet […] (too slow) so had to pay several euros per hour for faster internet connection and could only phone skype not video call. Connections not very strong. Room was beautiful, very clean, good bedding and furnishings. Water was hot and bathtub very modern and clean. I was able to walk to the William the Conqueror fort, tourist center, the downtown shops/restaurants and even up to the university. It was just a short way from the train station. Had a great stay! We had a stopover on the way to Normandy and this is a good choice. Clean and well placed. Down near a harbor and on Sunday there is a huge market out front. Use the parking (10EU) as it solves a lot of issues. Breakfast is ok. There are restaurants nearby but we did not use them. With the exceptions noted below, the hotel was OK. I personally would not stay there again but the reasons may be issues only I would have: 1) It is tour bus central. It looks like at least 4 bus loads arrive each afternoon/evening. Other than the masses on bus arrival, I did not see or hear the bus folks again; 2) The staff answered any question I […] had, but didn't go out of the way to make sure I wouldn't have a question; and 3) The floor vibrated for up to 6 hours at a time but not 24 hours a day. At its worst, the vibration could be felt while in bed. I never figured out the source. I suspect this afftected most of the second floor rooms (rooms 200 to 299). Hotel located within walking distance of city center; lots to see and many good restaurants nearby. Rooms were large and comfortable, with a nice bath and shower, duvets and an elevator for luggage. Underground parking 10E per night; none available on the street. We stayed two nights and I would choose this hotel again for its location and comfort.

The Mercure Port de Plaisance is located right in the center of Caen, Courtone Plaza. You are close to restaurants, cafes, and on Sunday, the farmer's market. We were lucky with the weather. the room was very comfortable and had a great shower. The reception staff friendly and efficient. Good ameneties eg. kettle, fridge. however noise from both outside and inside the hotel during the night mean't only 2 hours sleep. Shame as better soundproofing would have made all the difference.

Staff very good but hotel a bit tired. Washbasin leaked and bedside light not working. Staff promptly changed rooms for us. in new room, fridge didn't work, shower door leaked. Maintenance clearly poor. Expensive hotel parking. No restaurant. Bed comfortable, room v clean but quite small because it is an old building.

We had an upgraded room which was very nice. Bath tub and shower were good. In our room we had a safe, free soft drinks and bathrobes. Staff were very pleasant and spoke good English. We were travelling as a family of 4 adults. We had two standard rooms which were small but clean and comfortable. A convenient location for many of the attractions in the Normandy/Brittany region. Parking in the hotel carpark was an extra charge per day.

Det här är ett mycket bra hotell. Läget är perfekt med bra parkeringsmöjligheter. Rummen var lagom stora och mycket fräscha. Servicen var utmärkt. Frukosten var dyr men det fanns gott om caféer runt hotellet som hade bra frukosterbjudanden - så det var inget problem.

Nous somme arrivée à l’hôtel vers 4h30 du matin en tenu de mariage pour notre nuit de noce et pourtant notre accueil à la réception à été déplorable, pas un sourire pas un petit mot en homme antipathique au plus au point que nous avions vraiment l'air de déranger. Pour couronner le tout en arrivant dans la chambre il faisait un froid de canard la climatisation […] était à fond et la TV ne marchait pas. Hôtel tout à fait correct, rien à dire. Le parking de l'hôtel (qui est souterrain) coûte 10€ la nuit mais il faudra peut-être noter qu'on peut se garer gratuitement devant l'hôtel (parking le long du quai en épi).
