The receptionist seemed disappointed to need to break off her conversation with someone in the back office to greet us. Then she told us how generous she was by upgrading us to a harbor view room since the place was almost empty. Except for the fact that we'd reserved a harbor view room, that was nice of her. xxxxx The following is what i remember: 1) Online ad was misleading. 3 days gets a 15 or 20 or 25% off of daily rate. This simply was not true. It was said the listed price was already the discounted rate. Numbers above are approx, as i remember. 2) Like the other comments online, the hall way had a musty, dusty smell. Why don't you periodically steam […] clean the hall carpets or buy a new and more effective vacuum cleaner. Depending on conditions, you may have to do this more than once a year. 3) The young cleaning person would stack the clean towels on the dirty hallway floors. i have pics, should you want to see. On the weekend the older grey haired lady with pigtails had the common sense to first lay down a protective fabric. So the above produced a bitter feeling, that i still retain. xxxx On the plus side, the staff was very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was superb. You must try that crab, shrimp, salmon omelet, mmmm. The location cannot be better. Simply walk across the street from the ferry. Moreover, we were only several blocks from the locals grocery store. Location location! This hotel was just where I needed it to be, right across the street from the ferry landing from and to the State of Washington so I didn't have to take my luggage far; I had left my car in Pt. Angeles, knowing I wouldn't need it in Victoria. Days Inn was on the promenade, with the Strait of Juan de Fuca on the other side and government […] buildings and Empress Hotel on the near side. I easily walked through interesting streets downtown to do business, and also to visit my favorite tea and coffee purveyors. The hotel had a casual restaurant and lounge, along with a patio bar. The room and bath were on the small side but still fine, nice bed with extra top sheet over the comforter. I was in Victoria for just one night. Negatives: a light was out at the door of the room, a bit of carpet was torn at the elevator door, but nothing unreasonable. It worked so well for me, I certainly WOULD stay there again, and have recommended it to other people. Read more

This is a great hotel. There were only 2 problems with the stay: 1) The first morning it was impossible to get hot water in the shower. The room was very nicely maintained, clean and clean smelling. When we showered, the tub would fill up with water because the drain was extremely slow in draining. The bed was not comfortable for us because we have back problems. We were on the 4th floor and even though high above the lounge, the noise from there kept us awake much later than we normally […] sleep. We like the location because of it so close to the ferry dock and other activities around the Harbor. The cost of lodging per night was acceptable. The location couldn't be topped for the price. Our room was small (corner room). Suggest one chair be taken out - takes up too much of the little space available. Right across street from ferry, attractions -loved the ease of walking to everything we wanted to see.

I can not say enough about the front desk help, which I rated as superb. We had a problem with our rental car trunk and Danielle went way beyond the call of duty to help. She asked a hotel maintaince worker, I'm sorry I didn't get his name, but he fixed the problem when the local Enterprise rep said it wasn't his problem. We were just staying one night in Victoria. We had spent the day at Butchart Gardens and were going on a whale watching trip the next day. We just needed a clean place to sleep and a shower. This place is nothing fancy but very clean. The TV reception was fuzzy. When we called the desk clerk he said every room had the same problem because of their cable. […] The staff was very nice. They let us leave our car parked in the lot the day we checked out until late afternoon when we returned from the whale watching trip. This small hotel is quite old, but is very well situated, right at the Ferry arrival. Too pricey for an hotel of this category, but I guess you also pay for the location. The is overall a reasonable place to stay if you are not too picky. Also, their wireless internet was super-slow, I was not happy with that. The staff working there was great.

The hotel is conviently located directly across the street from the MV Coho terminal (ferry from Pt. Angeles, WA). The staff are courteous and efficient. Drawbacks: the bed is just a bit hard, and the plumbing is a bit noisy when used in adjacent rooms. Otherwise, a good place to stay.

Finding the hotel was a bit of a challenge, since the address on Belleville Street is fronted with a pub and restaurant, with the hotel entrance hidden between. No signage inside to lead one to the front desk. The more appropriate address would be on the street behind where the parking lot and prominent "Days Inn" sign and entry canopy are located. Check-in […] was easy. The coffin-sized elevator gave an unsettling lurge as it stopped at each floor. Room was neat, but had a musty odor. Too much furniture for the samll room. Few amenities in the bath. Bed, however, was comfortable. Free wi-fi internet service, but I never had more than 2 bars, so I gave it up as it took 30 minutes to do a five minute job. The staff were gracious and gave us an upgrade to a room on the waterfront side, which accepted with hesitation because we thought the traffic noise would be louder there at night. The room was nice and had a wonderful view of the harbour, but the next time we will try a room at the back, as we had to shut our window in order to sleep, due to the traffic […] (we are admittedly light sleepers). Our rate included a continental breakfast coupon which we could also apply as a credit to a regular menu item. The food was delicious and very ample. The outdoor pool was closed for the winter but we did see several guests using the hot tub. The Victoria Athletic Club is next door - it has great facilities and is open to the public. this was the trip of a lifetime with my daughter! We walked from the Clipper ferry dock in 3 minutes to the hotel, Expedia had handled the check-in, and we were in our room unpacking in 5 minutes! Very convienient off the ferry. Front desk very pleasant, smiley and helpful. Sink in bathroom backed up first time we used it, but they moved us to an upgraded room/kitchenette which was nice of them. Bathrooms are very small, can hardly sit on the toilet without the door hitting your knees. Nice view of the harbour, sometimes a little noisey with […] the water/planes taking off, but could put up with that for the view. Nice and close, could walk to most places. Right beside the parliment building, and opposite the Empress hotel, pretty lit up at night.. Super location we had a room in front looking over the harbor lights .. wonderful . the restaurant was excellent ... good food and prices , quiet enough so you could have a civilized conversation. we were close to the elevator but there was no problem with noise or traffic. This is a nice affordable hotel with a great location. It was a block from the ferry that we took from Seattle, and within a few blocks to downtown Victoria. They have a nice indoor/outdoor bar area and separate restaurant overlooking the harbour. Very clean and friendly staff! The bathroom was a bit small, but we weren't in the room all that much.

Superb location right on the harbor next to all the attractions. Quiet. VERY nice bar and patio lounge overlooking the water. Parking is free but first come first served so don't leave in the evening. You wouldn't anyway.

We stay at hotels for location, convenience and to sleep. Stayed for three days and enjoyed being near the sights at the end of the evening when we wanted to still be out, but not far from 'home.' It is not the very best for just enjoying the elegance of the room, but that's not what we wanted. (Though the bedding and bath linens were nice!) And the […] bathroom was actually cleaner than the Vancouver Marr*ott we'd been in the night before. One thing to note: no a/c. Evenings are cool and fan is provided, though.
