We were very happy with the hotel. It was clean and new. The bed was comfortable and large. The bathroom was enourmous and a window that could be opened. Breakfast was good as well even though we don't eat wheat or sugar we had a few options (fruit, natural yogurt, eggs, etc.). The fitness room didn't have much, just two cardio pieces and a multipurpose […] weight machine (no dumbbells or free weights) and it was very small. Staff was excellent, spoke great English and were very accommodating. Hotel itself is modern and clean. The location is very close to a subway station (Mundet Green Line) but overall is quite far from downtown and the beach. You must pay for wifi in your room. Overall had a good experience at this hotel, great value for the price.

I chose to stay out of the downtown mix since the nightlife wasn't what I was there for. Alimara is in the Northeast, in a suburb but the subway stop is in the same block making it extremely simple to get to and from the heart of Barcelona. Not much nearby except a few stores so get your meals downtown while exploring. It's light til 930p (May 11) so it's easy to eat late in the heart of the city and still come back and feel safe walking to the hotel by yourself. A small repair issue in the bathroom (the wall grab bar was about to fall out of the wall!), the bed was very firm (hard) which I've come to expect in hotels in Spain and an anemic air conditioner were my only issues with the hotel. All in all I found it convenient and affordable as a base to explore downtown and came and went taking advantage of the siesta after a long morning of exploring, then returning downtown in the afternoon. There are nice grounds outside in case you like to relax in a parklike setting with drinks. Buy the unlimited subway pass and the town is yours. I spent 4 nights here and would definitely come back to use the Alimara as a base. Read more

I stayed at the Alimara after reading several positive reviews and I agree it is a very nice place. I had a good sized room on the 8th floor with an amazing view. The hotel has 9 floors. The staff was very helpful with directions and recommending restaurants and entertainment that provided authentic Spanish food and Entertainment while avoiding the […] overpriced tourist traps. It is only a block away from the Metro. I found Barcelona to have an excellent train system. The best deal was someting called a T10 tickect. This allowed ten rides for 7.95 Euros. A single ride is 1.40 Euros. They have countdown clocks to when the next train arrives, which is rarely more than five or six minutes. The trains run from 5 a.m. to Midnight weekdays and 24 hours on weekends. There is also a taxi stand in front where cabs are always waiting. A taxi ride to the airport is about 30 Euros, while it is about 12 Euros to Cataluyna (the city center), which is also the start of La Rambla. The only problem was the location. First, it is next to a highway, so the noise may be an issue for some. Secondly, it is in a residential area in the Northern part of the city, meaning very few services nearby. There is a supermarket (supermercet) about a block away, but it was closed while I was there (Christmas week). However, most places could be reached by Metro in less than half an hour. There was also plenty of street parking if someone wanted to come by car. The hotel also has a garage for guests (though I have no idea how much they charge). Although it would have been nice to stay closer to the city center, I am sure it would have been significantly more expensive. Read more

We have stayed here 4 times. The 10-story hotel is modern and very nice and is operated by a hotel training school which is located next to it. It is about 10-15 minutes from La Ramblas on the Metro. The station is one long block from hotel. Very convenient

The hotel was fantastic. It was a very short walk from the Green Line Mundat station on the Metro. Very comfortable room and great staff that spoke English. They held our bags for free while we went sightseeing before the cruise. Not much to eat around the hotel but just a few stops on the Metro and there were lots of choices.

The room was lovely. Modern and comfortable, with a good sized bathroom and good toiletries. The restaurant served some of the best food I've had in Spain - try the croquettes! It's right on a Metro line that's very easy to use and brings you right into the centre of Barcelona with no traffic or delays.

I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights and must say that was very pleased. Even though it is not central, the tube station is a short walk away. The only down side is that wifi is not free in the bedroom however you can access free from the lobby. The location is somewhat outside of the City centre and in a residential area however it is adjacent to the Mundial tube stop and a 10 minute ride into the centre which really does not present a problem. The hotel Alimara is a metro ride from the town centre, there is very little in the way of shops around the hotel which is located in a residential district. We knew this from the reviews on Trip Advisor before we went. The hotel is very nice, clean, modern and the rooms are of a decent standard. The cost was very reasonable. There is a coffee shop […] at the Metro station (Mundet) so you can get a coffee and a pastry before heading into town. Mundet station is on the green line which was very handy as this line takes you to Catalunya (town centre), Drassanes (Ramblas) and to the three stations closest to the Nou Camp. Hotel lag wel ver van centrum, maar goed bereikbaar met Metro ligt 5 min lopen ervandaan. Medewerkers waren behulpzaam als je wat vroeg. Het is duidelijk een zakenhotel, het enige minpunt was slechte wifi verbinding, in een zakenhotel verwacht je hier wel een goede gratis verbinding in de lobby. Verbinding was zeer gebrekkig tot niks.

Le camere sono moderne e confortevoli, l'unico difetto è il rumore delle strade vicine che in estate rende difficile dormire con la finestra aperta; a questo problema si può facilmente supplire attivando l'aria condizionata.
