Hotel has no non-smoking rooms,. First reeked of cigar with burn holes in the bedpost, but reception was kind and understanding to give me a new one. Decor is semi-clean, old world classic, but run down. Breakfast is excellent. Location is excellent for walking into old town centre.

Despite the fact that there was an option for non-smoking rooms, the manager said that there was no difference between smoking/non-smoking room. Therefore we had to sleep in a smoking room, with a bad odour. Moreover we booked a double bed and we got 2 twins! At night we asked for two extra pillows and the manager said, after 3 hours, that there were no pillows left in the hotel!!! The staff did not care about our problems!! They were completely indifferent and rude!

not ready and we had to wait until 2pm, i was visting the boat show and wanted to freshen up as did my partner, it would have been so easy to have provided us a room to change in. Thia is supposed to be a 4 star operation. at 2PM we approched the desk to be told the room still was not ready and after explaination we were allowed access, the beds still unmade and the room uncleaned. At least were able to change. I was told that there was a hotel shuttle to and from the boat show which started at 2pm, at 215pm the driver could not be found and in frustration after being told it was their lunch hour, we took a taxi. In the evening we returned and asked several staff about where we could find a small restaraunt in walking distance, we got blanked by most of the reception staff and finally we took the matter into our own hand and found a taxi driver who took us to a fabulous little place by the sea. At 530am ( we were in room 134) we had a the sound of Stilletos on the ceiling walking back and forth for several hours, upon complaining the next day it seems the floor above us was marble and a breakfast room. So the girl in question making uo the tables needed to wear high heels at 5am!!! Ther is more but this web site wont give me more typing area

I imagine that the Bristol Palace Hotel was charming in its day, but it is now in need of dire improvements. The rooms are very large and spacious, but the decor is extremely dated and worn. Cleanliness was also an issue. Don't be fooled by the photos, this hotel has seen better days. (They do offer a nice breakfast though and the location is convenient.)

Small "grand dame" of a hotel. Super clean, great location to the old town Genoa, marinas and many outstanding restaurants. The guest rooms are gigantic, well appointed with high ceilings. Friendly restaurant and bar. Just a great place to stay and will surely go back.

We arrived by car from Bellaggio and the signs to the hotel were excellent. It was right in the middle of a shopping street and we were able to walk to the Duomo, the Opera House, upscale shopping and restaurants. Good Gelato on the street, too. Lovely staircase is the focal point of the lobby and the breakfast room was very well appointed-- worthy of a photograph. The staff was very helpful with our car
