Excellent hotel for a night or longer stay
I loved my stay at the Indigo. I was only there for one night, after having traveled around Scotland, and flying home the next day. I sprung for a junior suite - and it was fantastic. The whole style of the room was great, the bed was very comfortable and I loved the bathroom. Lots of room to spread out and just enjoy. I had a drink at the bar, and ordered room service. The food was excellent and prompt. The staff was very helpful and friendly. On my way to the airport the next day, I tried the tram for the first time - it is literally right across the street from the hotel. So convenient! It was a great and inexpensive way to travel to the airport. I would absolutely stay here again. I don't usually stay in this part of Edinburgh but liked it a lot and would try it again the next time I return, which will hopefully be next summer.

Not enough seating in room. Wifi was a BIG issue! They seem to know it was a problem because they asked for a survey about it immediately after our stay. Friendly staff. Good location.

Charming and fun with some small downfalls
I stayed at Hotel Indigo after seeing a deal on Hotels.com and seeing the great reviews. I was traveling alone, but thought I could splurge a bit--it's my vacation! Overall, my experience with Indigo was great! The reception desk was warm and helpful and my room was always in great cleanly condition when I returned. The complimentary minibar was also a really appreciated added perk. It's nice to be able to always come back to some bottles of water and some snacks, especially after a night of drinking (or to nurse the hangover the next morning). The bed was comfortable, the shower was great. My drain didn't work all too well, but that wasn't a big deal. A few minor complaints; for the price, I was hoping my room would be a bit bigger. The bed was extremely comfortable, but basically took up the entire room. The doors could do with a little more soundproofing as I could hear everything in the hallway--even full on conversations. My biggest complaint was the WiFi--it was very fickle and would disconnect often and was quite slow if you used their complimentary connection. It was way too slow to do any work that I had to do so I had to pay an extra 7 pounds for workable internet speed.
