lobby said there was coffee in the morning, wasn't there at 7:30. They said come back at 8:00. Wasn't there at 8:00. We checked out at 8:30 no coffee yet.

We stayed in the lodge building, which is the original resort right on the lake and about a half mile from the newer building called the Galleria. The lodge is fairly old but has been kept up nicely. The pool area in the lodge is very nice with a nicely heated indoor pool with a nice hot tub and sauna. The TV in our room was an old tube style and way […] too small for the room. The beds were not that comfy, but I have slept in worse and everything was very clean. There is no room service but there are two restaurants in the lodge, and Italian restaurant and a sports bar. I did not eat in either so I have no comment on them. In the Galleria building there is a pizza place which supposedly delivers to your room, but when I called and told them I was in the Lodge, they said they didn't deliver, so I had to drive over and pick it up. The pizza was not that good and reminded me of frozen pizza. It was April and cold when we were there, but outside it looks like they have an outdoor bar and docks where you should be able to rent paddle boats. Read more

My family and I were looking for a not-so-far getaway for spring break that would offer lots to do within a small vicinity. Split Rock offered so much and all on the location! Everything was reasonably priced with the exception of the restaurant where our service was lacking. The room was neat and clean, but a bit outdated. We have a 6 year old and […] a 2 year old. Since our room door did not have a security latch at the top, our 2 year old was able to open the door and we had a bit of a scare overnight, but thankfully all was well. The overall service was acceptable and everyone seemed somewhat happy to help (with the exception of the teen arcade attendants, but that is to be expected with teens). The only other somewhat complaint that I have is that some of the planned activities just didn't happen. Not cool, but we still had a very nice stay. I would definitely recommend this location for a quick family vacation as long as you are not used to The Ritz Carlton and can make some of your own fun. Read more

I'm not a complainer or real particular person. However, my one night experience at Split Rock was awful. My original room was supposed to be in the Lodge. This place is nothing but an old and outdated dump. TV was from the 80's, faded color and barely visible. We found food on the floor and the bathtub drain plug was full of hair. The Galleria is outdated […] and overpriced. Horrible service at the Pizzeria. We did get moved to a room in the Willowbrook section after I complained about the room conditions in the Lodge. These are newer condominium type places which are very nice. However, I cannot ever recommend this place to anyone. Buyer beware!! Read more

No live entertainment on the weekends . Girl with black hair that worked the bowling ally was very rude and ignorant. This will be my last time going there . I have been going there for over 30 years . It was a family tradition . They need better activities,and bring back doc .

Mixed bag. The rooms in the Willowbrook are great. New, roomy, fireplace, nice decor. Main Building is outdated. Location is excellent. Hotel is great for families with kids. The biggest problem is the food and service is horrible. Stay in Willowbrook where you have a kitchen.

If you are looking for flat panel TVs, DVD players, granite counters, stone floors and other modern amenities this is not the lodging for you. The $1 toll on the way in is for using a private road. We stayed in the lodge. It is old and hasn't been remodeled for 25 years plus. The room was clean though. the beautiful lake view was spoiled by the fact that the windows haven't be washed for some time. The hotel is very very noisy. Night 1 we were kept awake first by people partying until 2am in the room above and then by a fire alarm set off at […] 3am where we were forced to evacuate the room. There is surely room for improvement in terms of some needed renovations to be had for the resort area itself (esp for the Galleria). Though, luckily, our trip was not a total disappoint as we stuck with the Willowbrook suites which eased most of the concerns I held based on other reviews. As Willowbrook is new, it made our vacation much more relaxed […] - it was clean (although the bed looks on the cheap side, was hard). There's not much around the resort, other than their main Waterpark, and within the Galleria, movie theater, a small arcade area and right next to it, small bowling alley (4 lanes I think). Overall, this is good if you are on a budget and want a lazy vacation. Stick with Willowbrook suites for your room type and at least, you will have some positive experience to take away if you decide to just enjoy the suite only (note: Willowbrook to the main Galleria, where everything is at, is about a 3-minute drive away, so, if you want entertainment, you will have to go to it as there's nothing around Willowbrook area, other than the suites itself). We stayed at the Lodge. Our room was on the third floor. Great lake view!. However most activities like the bingo, game room, bowling, movie theatre, and the water park were at the Galeria (the main building) which is quite far away from our building. We had to drive back and forth several times a day from the Lodge to the Galeria. There is also one […] ice machine on the first floor at the lodge... so we had to walk down 2 floors everytime we needed ice. We had an ancient 15 inch "Cathode Ray Tube" CRT TV in our room. It was quite funny as it was the same brand we tossed away like 4 years ago when we switched to LCDs. Anyway, we didn't book our trip to watch TV... we did enjoy everything else though.. oh, forgot to mention that the reception area had had this insane CHLORINE smell coming out of the indoor pool !!!! they need to install some vents or do something about it. The resort was conviniently located and close to main attractions sush as Bushkill Falls, Rafting, Hikingm, etc. The rooms are spacious and the suite I stayed in had a complete kitchen set. There is a supermarket and liquor store less than 2 miles away and that helped a lot! definately will go back!

The staff was very friendly. Rooms are clean but dated. Overall enjoyed the stay, a lot to do for the whole family. But the main reason I went to this particular hotel was because of the indoor water park, which was very disappointing. It was geared more for younger children, the photos made it seem like it was for older children, it wasn't.

This is lodge and feels that way. The building rambles by the lakefront. The trim is all real wood and overall things are well cared for, in spite of the age of the hotel. We liked the real wood trim and furnishings. Our room was very comfortable and spacious. Moonrise on the lake was awesome. The staff were helpful and extremely courteous. Walked in to front desk and see lady slamming key on desk and checking out a day early. Front desk reception was on phone with other customer who wanted another room but was told Hotel was at full capacity. Was given key to room 113, It's located on a lower floor, ground level. It faces a lake that was close, due to high bacteria. My room smelled awfull, […] it was almost unbearable. Had to go to Rite Aid to get menthol for my nose, and spray room with deodorant spray. It appears room must heve been flooded by lake. Rug was also dirty, walked with white socks on floor and they turn black from dirt. This resort has a LOT to offer all and is very reasonably priced. The grounds are beautiful and well kept which makes it somewhat of a "hidden jewel". A very relaxed setting, with plenty of entertainment for adults and/or "the kids". HOWEVER, be prepared....the hotel definitely needs updating! But the "lodge style" still makes some of the older decor […] seem fitting if you are okay witha clean but old room. If you want an up to date room be sure to rent something at their WILLOWBROOK bldg. as I am told has recently been redone. And if you like a lodgy style rustic look, go with A RUSTIC CABIN. You will likely NOT be disappointed with that. It is a great deal, hotel is clean, staff is friendly and professional. If you however, find yourself in a lodge room (a building there called the lodge), you'll be close to the beach & lake and have restaurants/bars close by, but, these rooms are seriously D A T E D, in desperate need of new carpeting furniture, etc. (but again, it IS CLEAN) and your TV will be ah....MAYBE... a 24", OLD STYLE TV... This resort is a 1 1/2 star at best. The rooms have not been updated since the 70s and the service was weak. Their best restaurant had the worst service and food was not that good. The water park was nice for the kids, but that's about it.

We stayed in the lodge which we nicknamed Hotel Transylvania. Very old and outdated. Kind of creepy. No elevator. Old Tv's with vcr's. Nice staff. A wide variety of activities on property besides water park. I would stay in the galleria hotel attached to water park in future.

We had a really great relaxing time and were shocked at how big the room was for the price. We had an excellent view of the lake and the staff there is not all over you every time you come in the lobby which was key for us.
