Overall we really enjoyed our stay in this hotel. However, having booked a double room we were disappointed to find two single beds made up separately and pushed together. They were not joined and moved apart very easily. There was no no air-conditioning, just an air circulation system and the weather was particularly hot. The staff were very obliging […] though and put a fan in our room which really helped. If you want to really feel the old imperial glory of Vienna then the Regina Hotel is the place to stay. It has a lovely colonial feel to it, especially notable if you breakfast al fresco out on the terrace. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and in keeping with the fact that the hotel was originally an old palace. Lovely hotel in an historic building. Close to the city, parks and sights. Close to public transport but also walking distance to main city sights. Excellent service - very friendly and happy to offer advice and extra help (eg. bag storage, somewhere to have a shower before a late night flight out, help with IT problems, public transport, and tips on […] the best concerts etc). Comprehensive breakfast in a nice restaurant/courtyard space. If staying in summer, try to secure a room with air-conditioning. The hotel is in an excellent position and very classical in appearance. The staff are helpful. There are still porters to help you with your luggage but then there is an expectation to provide a tip. Overall the hotel is very good. The breakfeast was excellent.

Our room was a bit small but we were offered a bigger room on request.The pillows were very soft and extra ones did not help.the bathroom lacked spare toilet rolls and tissues.TV was old. The hotel is a bit past its prime. Although the building is nice and quite old, the furnishings are a bit shabby. However, the staff are quite helpful and even changed my room after I called down to say it was just too small for two people. A truly wonderful stay at a truly wonderful hotel. For an added dash of opulence ask about an upgrade to a Deluxe room. In the off season it could turn out to be surprisingly affordable. Our room was gorgeous and immense. Free WiFi was very useful. The Hotel Regina is not an identikit 4 star hotel, but retains so much of Vienna's gentle imperial character […] that it is worth staying there for this alone. It can set the tone for a whole holiday in this marvellous city. The extent to which Austrians use it as guests is a strong indicator of its quality. Don't be fooled by the Strauss music as you walk in, it is not twee, but proud of its identity. The hotel has been run by the same family for 150 years and it shows. The food is fantastic. Particularly the Regina Rindl dinner dish washed down with a glass of Esterhazy white. The only niggle we could find was that room service stopped at 11pm. There's little point to room service if it isn't 24 hour, and this does matter as Vienna is far from being a "late night" city. Asking for the mini-bar to be re-stocked with a few items at 2 am shouldn't be a big request; but apart from that this hotel is a smasher. Read more

without a doubt I would stay at this hotel again. is it a modern hotel? no, but who wants modern when you can stay in a hotel with character but have modern convienience. (i.e wireless internet , tv and refrigerator in your room). the rooms look to have been recently renovated and have appropriate period furniture that fits nicely into the overall atmosphere […] of the hotel. the rooms are a bit small but who needs a lot of size when you spend most of the day and night visiting the sights of the city. the room and bathroom were very clean and in great repair. the buffet breakfast was wonderful, a real bountiful hot and cold buffet. the location is not exaggerated as it is actually less than a five minute walk to the metro station, maybe even a 2 minute walk. it is actually in walking distance to the center of the inner city. it is right on the ring next to the most beatiful Votiv Church which I think may actually be my favorite in Vienna. we also were allowed to check in early as one of our rooms was available. the staff was very helpful and nice. planning on visiting Vienna in the spring again and will definitely check to see if the Hotel Regina has rooms available. The Hotel is placed vis-vis Votivkirche, I had a room with view to the church and the square, just wonderfull. But the rooms need to be renovated (old furnitures, no desk, small rooms), and every day there was a loud ventilator-sound frem the bathroom. The Regina Hotel has seen better days. Although the room was clean and the staff were very kind and helpful, the place is in dire need of redecoration. The lobby and hallways were very dated with old, old, old carpeting and furniture (and not in a classic way). La camera piccola anche se la visuale dalle finestre(votiv kirche) era ottima. En varausta tehdessäni tiennyt, että Hotel Regina on yksi Wienin perinteisimmistä hotelleista. Tämä näkyi yleensä positiivisena eli palvelu oli kaikin puolin ystävällistä. Sinkkuhuone oli kohtuullisen kokoinen ja tv:stä löytyi jopa muutama englanninkielinen kanava. Kylppärissä oli epäkäytännöllinen istuma-amme, jonne nouseminen saattaa huonojalkaisille […] olla vaikeaa. Kerrankin huoneessa oli myös kunnon valaistus ja kaikki valot sai näppärästi sammutettua sängyn vierestä. Hotellin remontista on jo aikaa, ehkä päivitys nykyaikaan voisi lähivuosina olla tarpeellinen, mutta kodikasta "perinteistä" tyyliä en toivoisi menetettävän. Muutama sata metriä hotellista oli U-Bahn-asema ja ydinkeskustaan kävelikin alla puolessa tunnissa. Huonehintaan kuuluva aamiainen melko monipuolinen. Read more

Vi oppholdt oss på hotellet noen dager i mars i forbindelse med en skoletur. Hotellet har tradisjoner tilbake til slutten av 1800-tallet, og interiøret er elegant, klassisk og godt vedlikeholdt. Personalet var hyggelig og serviceinnstilt, og det var ingenting å utsette på renholdet, verken i fellesarealet eller på rommet. Badet til rommet var flislagt […] og holdt god standard. Kan kanskje pirke på at det var badekar istedenfor dusjkabinett (men dette varierer fra rom til rom) og at temperaturen på vannet var noe ustabilt. Rommet var lyst og trivelig, med komfortable senger. Vi bodde i fjerde etasje, og hadde god utsikt utover Votivsparken og Rooseveltplatz. Selv om hotellet ligger ved relativt travle bygater, var det lite støy - og vinduene var nye og godt lydisolerte. Beliggenheten er et godt utgangspunkt til Wien's severdigheter, og om man ikke ønsker å gå (noe som er mulig siden den historiske bykjernen er kompakt, og hotellet ligger like i utkanten av denne) ligger stopp for offentlig transport i form av t-bane og trikk bare et steinkast unna hotellets hovedinngang. Frokostbuffeten var alle tiders, med noe for enhver smak. Alt i alt var hotellet sine 4 stjerner verdig. Anbefales! Read more
