"Beautiful neighborhood near Stanley Park"
This hotel has the best location you can imagine - near beautiful residential neighborhoods and Stanley Park. Many wonderful resturants are within an easy walk. It was great being upgraded to the 34th floor with a small balcony over looking the bay and park. Coffee maker and bottled water with turn down service were nice suprises.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"A Great Easter Weekend At The Coast"
We spent a wonderful extended Easter weekend at the Coast at Stanley Park. We have been coming here since the late 1980s and will continue to do so. The staff is wonderful and the location can't be beat. If you haven't been here before try it out. You'll enjoy it. A very good value and an easy walk anywhere.Genuine Expedia guest review
The hotel was very conveniently located which more than made up for it's somewhat outdated finishes. The pool is a little weird in that it is shared with the connecting gym. I'd stay here again because it was so well located but would like to see some updating (especially to the bathrooms). While the room was generally clean, a little more attention […] to detail would have been great. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Old and outdated"
The location was perfect but the hotel itself was pretty run down. Everything was old and falling apart. After struggling to get the luggage up to our room, we found out that our room key didn't work. No apologies or anything from the front desk at all. The only good thing about it was the location.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Vancouver Coast Plaza 1 BR 2 Doubles Suite"
We, a family of four, found the 1 bedroom suite to be very spacious and comfortable and were pleased to have been upgraded to a beautiful water and city view. The bathroom tile and counter was outdated and the kitchen a little dingy (e.g., found mildly used dishes in the dishwasher), but hotel staff responded apologetically and quickly replaced dishware […] as requested. Beds were clean and comfortable and sofa appeared clean and new. Proximity to Stanley Park and lots of restaurants was a big plus. Kids enjoyed the indoor pool. Parking felt relatively safe. We would definitely stay there again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

The hotel and service was very good. Free parking and the view from the 29th floor was the best part. Would be nice if the room had a microwave. Over all very very good.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Perfect for our young family"
The hotel was in the perfect location, near the waterfront and Stanley Park, and had many yummy shops nearby.an The price was affordable and has many nice amentities, including kitchen in the suite, pool, hot tub, sauna, etc. The concierge was very friendly and helpful getting us to great food and travel advice. "Great view of English Bay"
Paid for a room with a view and it was not available when I got there, so the staff upgraded us to a fabulous suite with views from the bedroom and living room. What a treat! It is an older hotel, with a squeaky bed, but the view and size was worth it. Great place to stay with a short walk to Stanley park along English Bay, the little ferries to Granville […] Island and many restaurants! "Good location, friendly staff, hopelessly dated"
The hotel is located convenient to Stanley Park and the Robson St. corridor, connected to a small mall, and with many shops and restaurants in the surrounding blocks. It's pet-friendly, with a reasonable per-night cost for pets, which is why we chose it. The check-in process was efficient and the front desk staff was warm and welcoming. They've got […] self-parking and the Expedia VIP process took care of the cost, which was a nice change from the $30-50 at other downtown hotels. We had a one-bedroom suite, with a large living room and small kitchen. The view was excellent from the large balcony. The common spaces of the hotel are small, but reasonably well appointed. Thus ends the good. On the downside, the room décor was utterly, hopelessly dated. The stove looked like it was older than I am, the entire room was appointed with mauve wallpaper and ugly poor-quality brown carpet. The bathroom was cramped, had an airplane-sized mauve toilet, plastic shower liner, and a second-rate shower head without enough water pressure to fully activate the massage setting. All in, if the price had been in the double digits, it might have been passable just because my expectations would have been appropriately low, but I don't think I'll be back. Better to shell out the extra few dollars for the Pan Pacific or Westin. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"weekend to go see UBC"
It had been a good many years since we were last at the coast hotel at english bay. The hotel, while always clean, polite staff and very active, seemed worn and tired. for the price plus for parking, no breakfast, i would have expected a fresher feel to the place. Its location is stunning, and one can always just look out the window to see why their […] location is so exclusive. Not much has changed except the lights and the beds. The beds are comfortable. but the rest was a disappointment. At least one can avoid looking at the interior. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Its not a 3 star but a 2 star rated hotel"
I thought this was a 3 star hotel. It's grubby. Not filthy, not dirty but dingy. The carpet is stained, the furniture is old and the elevator is extremely small, if you don't like tight spaces take the stairs. The electtic heaters take a while to warm up the room, and the air unit is extremely loud. the Bed was comfy.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Decent hotel. Friendly staff. Great location."
Good experience overall. Only suggestion is that hotel is in need of some upgrades but the location is great. Close to great restaurants and Stanley Park.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Good hotel in a nice part of town."
Our room could have used an update, but we really can't complain. It was quite spacious, had a very comfortable bed and a full kitchen. We had a lanai and sitting room. It's on a quitter side of town, away from all the craziness of the shopping area, bars and what not, but it's still close to several pubs and restaurants. And being right next to Stanley […] Park it was easy to go for a jog. Definitely a good value (we did the mystery hotel thing so it was half price). Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great choice for families"
A bit outdated and not stylish but very practical choice, as it is very spacious, great location, nice and clean, and not too expensive. we loved the fact that we had full kitchen (old but very well maintained) and a separated bedroom. the room didnt have A/C and although it was August, most of the time we didnt feel its missing.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Nice hotel close to English Bay."
A no fuss place, efficiently run. On the 25th floor great views of the mountains and over the bay, the sunset over Vancouver Island. "Terrific location, highly supportive staff"
From a logistical view, this hotel is ideally located in downtown Vancouver several blocks off a lovely beach -- very much a different part of Vancouver than other more citified areas. This area is young, upbeat, much more of a beach town, and perfectly situated for easy travel to such "must" places as Graneville Island (a wonderful public market, theater),the […] infamous Grouse Mountain (my family barely survived climbing the thing, but "grinding the Grouse" is a wonderful challenge) and, of course glorious Stanley Park (bigger than Central Park and just great for any activity). Normally, I don't rate my travel experiences but I am indebted to the staff at the Coast Plaza for assisting us during a family crisis. My son was taken in for emergency surgery a day before we were to leave, and the hotel was most generous in terms of its support and in extending our stay (8 days). I'm sorry I don't have the name of the hotel manager, but hopefully this review will convey my sincere thanks to her. Regardless of our particular situation, I would rate my family's stay at the hotel very positively -- this is a facility with a fantastic health club (two entire floors) and just a great swimming pool, sauna, hot tub, separate facility. Rooms also accommodate larger families (we are five) with some coming with a kitchenette, so very family-friendly. Parking is not included ($25) but I found the price point for Vancouver hotels quite reasonable. Would definitely choose to stay there. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Ok for family of five"
The Coast Plaza Hotel & Suites are in a nice location. We were able to walk to Stanley Park and catch Bus #5 to take us everywhere downtown. The attached mall and grocery store were really convenient. We made breakfast every morning before heading out, so I can't comment on any of the in-house restaurants. I wish there were more plates and utensils... […] just 3 or 4 of any one thing. My husband and I traveled with our three children, ages 15, 13 and 9. It was a comfortable fit even for our family of 5. We didn't have time for the pool. After making a non-refundable booking, I read some unflattering reviews that the place was dated and awful. It was better than expected. We were satisfied, but if we ever return to Vancouver in the future, we will probably try another place. Serviceable, but not special. "Nice hotel in good area"
We visited Vancouver in August, 2013, and stayed at this hotel. Fortunately, we had read reviews about it so were not too disappointed by its signs of age. The hotel is in a great area and I enjoyed my stay. They really should clean and spiff-up the balconies as they were not at all inviting. "Great location! Close to everything."
I have stayed at this hotel 3 times already. I travel to Canada for business and will now only stay at this hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review
We stayed one night each before and after a cruise. The hotel is is an excellent location for walking around, seeing Stanley Park, and near good not expensive restaurants. The room was comfortable, although older and worn in places. However, rooms were spacious and the second stay we even had a nice balcony. Both had a stocked kitchenette, which was […] a big plus (although no dish detergent, so we left the dirty dishes in the sink!). The hotel has parking, which wouls havebeen very useful if we'd rented. Which, if you are a family of 5+, I highly recommend you do because it was very difficult for us to get around Vancouver because city law only allows 4 passengers per cab (or so we were told).
