Two popular forms of recreation and ways to explore Amsterdam are cycling and boating, both of which can be found a block from the hotel.
The recreational activities listed below are available either on site or near the hotel; fees may apply.
The classic Amsterdam image of stately canals, the Canal Loop is principally the Herengracht and Keizersgracht, lined with gracious tall 17th and 18th-century houses. Some of these are now museums, most notably the eccentric Kattenkabinet. The Amstel is a more down-to-earth waterway, lined with houseboats and famous for its classic much–photographed Magere Brug (Skinny Bridge). The floating Flower Market is also a much-loved canal feature.

Friendly, welcoming staff! Pamela met us & came out from behind the desk to greet us & aqquaint us with the hotel. There was a welcoming fire in the fireplace and while housekeeping did a last minute check on our room we had welcoming bottles of water. We were shown to our room within minutes even though it was only 11am & no extra charge. This is an all inclusive hotel. The drinks, snacks, coffee, cookies, apps & breakfast are included. Beds were great, bath was wonderful with soaking tub & seperate shower. The bath was private, no glass wall. Brandy, whiskey or gin in decanters on a small bar & snacks/drinks in the minibar. Patrick, pointed us in the right direction for shopping. Very nice staff at this hotel. We had a brandy before walking to a small restaurant just out the door and to the right called "Get toGether". Very nice staff, food & reasonalby priced. Great location. We had breakfast in our room and called down for a taxi when leaving our room. When came into the lobby, the cabbie meet us at the desk & loaded our luggage. Taxi to & from airport 51 to 52 Euros. To sum it up in one word, "Excellent".

Banks Mansion is an excellent hotel in a great location - between the flower market and museum district. The staff were very helpful, recommending good restaurants and making reservations. The free minibar and complementary drinks/snacks is a superb idea and ideal after a long day of sightseeing. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a friendly and relaxing place to stay in Amsterdam.

ALthough I can' fault Banks Mansion for the service or clealiness I must admit I was very underwelmed by the whole experience. We were away for my husbands birthday and I had spent a long time trying to find an intimate boutique hotel with a great location. From the description I thought Banks Mansion would fit the bill perfectly, however the experience was like any other bland hotel experience, just with less rooms and free drinks in the'living room' (actually the lobby!) Our room barely had a window and looked out over a wall, the bathroom was massive and very well appointed but the room fel cramped and dark.

Amsterdam is full of hotels but nothing else is as stylish as Banks Mansion. Situated just around the corner from Rembrandt Square, this small, boutique hotel is a haven of stylish calm. The rooms are not huge but are beautifully furnished with fabrics and furniture that has been thoughtfully selected to complement unusual retro touches such as the mirrors and wall clock. The bathromm, while compact, was spotlessly clean, beautifully styled and offered a n excellent, drenching shower withoptional steam and eucalyptus oil. Drinks in the room, in the mini bar and in the tiny foyer lounge are all free of charge, a nice touch to make you feel at home. All in all, an excellent choice and while Amsterdam seeths and surges outside the windows,Banks Mansion is a haven of charming service and peaceful relaxation.

The staff was extremely nice, the rooms were very comfortable, and the location of the hotel made walking the city and getting to the train station very easy, and the free breakfast was GREAT! The complimentary bar, snacks and internet were a nice addition. Would recommend this hotel and will definitely stay at this hotel again if ever in Amsterdam.

The Banks Mansion is in a great neighborhood, an easy walk to anywhere in the city. The lobby bar, snacks, mini bar and breakfast were great. -- Such a great deal. The computers in the lobby were great for checking email and for printing tickets to area museums etc.. DVD's at the front desk were and free. Air conditioning in the room was awesome and worked great during a really hot spell that is unusual for Amsterdam. The staff couldn't have been more friendly or helpful. I would recommend this hotel to everyone and hope to go back soon! Loved it!

This is an outstanding hotel located in an excellent location in Amsterdam. The hotel is a 15 minute walk from Central Station, 1 minute walk from night clubs and bars, 1 minute walk to the flower market and 1-10 minute walk from many attractions including several squares and the red light. A tram also runs directly in front of the hotel. The staff was very nice and went out of their way to take care of my needs. The room was large for a European hotel and was one of the most confortable beds I have been in at any hotel. I would say that the hotel is comparable to a W brand hotel in the USA.

It was well worth paying a bit more than my usual budget to stay at the Banks Mansion. The staff are its greatest asset, with cheery greetings from everyone each time they saw us. Decor is quite stylised and interesting, the all-inclusive drinks and snacks such a sensible idea- as if you were in your own home. Same goes for the free internet. Breakfast was fine, very friendly lady supervises. We travel a lot, both for business and leisure, and this was one of the very few hotels I would definitely return to (when I am next in Amsterdam)- it felt right. My thanks to all involved in the hotel for creating such a positive and friendly stay. Great location as well!

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights in May on our 20th wedding anniversary. We had a wonderful time and made full use of the mini bar and TV/DVD in the room and the free bar in the lounge which had a good choice of beverages. We chose a room with a canal view and found it to be well designed, a reasonable size, clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was good with a wide choice of cereals. They cook you omlettes, french toast etc to order. Staff were very friendly and helpful with good local knowledge. Although it is situated by a bridge on a busy road noise was not a problem. During our stay the weather was good and it would have been nice to have had an area outside the hotel where we could sit and enjoy the sunshine with our glass of wine but I'm being picky. Overall a great hotel. Not cheap but you get what you pay for. Recommended
