Tirana International Hotel - Tirana

Big mistake by booking this hotel, should have stayed in the cheaper & nicer hotels in Blokku, where all the restaurants are and you feel safer. We checked in and noticed the air conditioning wasn't cooling. Hours later never cooled, reception who said they would send a technician which took ages, who finally said it couldn't be fixed. Receptionist […] wanted to give us inferior room and insisted he could not give us anything better. We said we would check out so then it turned out he did have a better one.This was a big waste of time and happened after 1 am.The toilet kept making noises and the wifi did not work in the room.The ac in the new room did work but never cooled to a comfortable level. The toilet, the bidet and the sink kept clogging, not a nice scene.Manager at the spa was very unfriendly, said it was closed 30 minutes before closing time, we didn't accept this so he got in a very bad mood mistreating his staff who were trying to be helpful. Breakfast was very average, only good thing was the view. The worst thing was the sales manager (as the manager sales seemed to always be busy to talk to us). She didn't apologise but kept disagreeing with us and making excuses. You can forgive the installations and technical difficulties but not the service and negative attitude of the staff which represents management. We were on a 15 night trip to the Balkans, in 15 different hotels, ranging from 3 to 5 star luxury resorts. Needless to say this was definitely the worst! Read more

This was a good deal - and the location was great - only complaint was the bed was uncomfortable and not a king size as indicated in the reservation - and the shower was very small - if they had better beds and pillows this would be a great place

This hotel was in a convenient location in the city, and I was abel to walk to all of my destinations. The hotel staff was extremely helpful and attentive, and the restaurant was really good, as was the free breakfast. Stay Away if you expect a real hotel. Location is good. The hotel a bit old and needs updating. Cleanliness was ok to poor. The real issue is customer service. Staff was a bit cold but the real issue we had was when we left. The hotel requires you give them your passport. We had a difficult day when we checked in and forgot we gave them our passports. […] We checked out and no one reminded us that they held on to our passports. We discovered that we did not have them when we were two hours away. Called them and after a while they "discovered that they still had our passports" We drove back to pick them up. It was late and raining we did not want to drive again because late and since they forgot the passports we expected them to give us a room to stay since the hotel was empty. The offered us a "50 %: discount on a room that was about the same price we paid for the original two nights. They did not care that we lost over 4 hours driving and it was late and roads in Albania are not great for driving at night. No apology, no room for us. We left and found another hotel in Tirana, that was nicer, cleaner and cheaper and did not require to hold on to our passport. Bottom line is they act like a 4 star hotel but customer service is lacking for the price you are paying. Stay away. Read more

The Tirana International Hotel is a Communist-era facility at the best location, right at Skanderberg Square. Overall I would say that the staff were terrific and very helpful. The facility, however, shows its history and age. Very friendly staff in a good quality hotel that is in an excellent location. There is a significant amount of traffic noise for those who like to sleep with the window open, but that is the only drawback. I would have no hesitation in returning there.

Hotel is very much the image of 1980s Marxist ALbania; internet took about one and half hours to get going in my room (no wi-fi); breakfast was terrible and the staff were not friendly. Very argumentative. During my trip I had a meeting at Sheraton, which is much better.

Vom Hotel aus sind alle wichtigen Punkte bequem zu Fuß erreichbar. Der Service ist perfekt, das Personal immer freundlich. Das Frühstück ist auch gut. Bei geschlossenem Fenster ist kein Straßenlärm zu hören und die Größe des Zimmers war ausreichend trotz längerem Aufenthalt.Ich würde immer wieder dieses Hotel wählen.

Tutto molto gradevole, compresa la prima colazione. Non ho utilizzato il ristorante. Consiglio l'albergo anche per la centralissima posizione nella piazza principale della citta'. Suggerisco se possibile di prenotare i piani alti (mi pare fino al 12^) per meglio godere lo splendido panorama.
