It was not far from where my son is stationed and is also only about 20 minutes from the beach. There are a few descent restaurants close by also. Breakfast wasn't bad for a continental breakfast. It had more variety than some others I've had in the past. It was a somewhat older hotel, but not horrible for the price. I would stay there again.

I have been to the hotel several times with the family and enjoy the location to stuff that we are doing. I opted for a king bet this time and it was nice and comfy but it leaned towards the midle and my wife and rolled towards the middle during the night. That is the only negative thing I can say.

The hotel room hallway constantly smelled like smoke. Even though it does have smoking rooms the entire hallway down the length of the non smoking rooms almost always smelled. They tried to cover it up with Febreeze which was appreciated but it didn't completely get rid of it.

The staff was incredibly nice and went out of their way to make our stay pleasant. The hotel is pretty run down but they were replacing all the mattresses when we were there. Hopefully bathroom renovations are next.

We had a brief stay over the holidays, choosing this hotel mainly because it is close to my in-laws, who host the Xmas and New Year fun. I take care of my 80 year-old mom, and so any and all accessibility and staff courtesies go a long way. The staff here is friendly and uniformly helpful. At times, the one person on duty must leave the desk late at […] night, which can delay service from time to time (or even access, since the outside door must be locked after a certain hour). But the staff is always accommodating, the place clean and well cared for, the continental breakfast a nice touch. The bathrooms are large, well lit and functional, the heating excellent. TV channels a bit limited, but we didn't need more. This was our second stay (second year-end holiday in a row), and I would recommend the hotel highly--and stay here again. Read more

The outside of the hotel was very clean, when you walked in the reception area was nice and clean as well. The lady that helped me check in was very friendly. The only complaint I do have is that there was not and elevator to the second floor. I came to the hotel by myself with my three little children and taking luggage up by myself with them was a […] bit difficult. First off, the staff at the hotel was great & accomadating. However, the hotel itself is run down and shabby. The carpet smells old & moldy, the backdoor to the hotel was broke, I couldn't find anyone there who could connect to the WiFi. The entire building just seems to need a complete renovation.

This hotel has no elevator. We arrived late and there were no first floor rooms available. I have infant twins so we have a ton of "stuff" to carry. I was looking for an inexpensive place to stay - nothing fancy. This place was horrible. I told myself that the 2 huge white stains on the bedspread was from bleach. The only reason I didn't complain was because there were 2 beds in my room and when I pulled back the covers of both beds they were very clean. The drapes were too narrow for the window so the parking lot lights shined in - the second night I took push pins and tacked them across the window. This is a typical budget hotel, showing signs of wear. General appearance and cleanliness was ok, but a bit of maintenance would go a long way. In my room 1) the clock radio did not work. The clock worked, the radio and alarm did not. 2) I could not turn off the air unit; the switch was so loose that any vibration turned it back on. 3) the light switch […] over the dresser was about to fall out of the fixture. I screwed it in. 4) the sink drain stopper would not hold water. When I arrived, the two clerks behind the desk made me stand and wait while they tried to print some picture from their ipad. The free breakfast was the basic toast, cool "french toast", bagels, apples, mini donuts, cold cereal and a waffle iron. This hotel is fine. The location is central in Havelock. We ended up staying there as a last minute resort. The beds are very small - so small that my husband and I had to sleep in the two different beds. The hotel was quite run down and does not have an elevator. I think for the online price we paid you could do a lot better - especially if you there for a state conference like we were. On the plus side, it was very quiet and the staff was polite. It did look like that old of a hotel, but once inside...ALL of that changed!! Very dirty, no ice machine even in the hotel, vending machines both had out of order signs. The kicker for me that I knew I'd never stay there again were two things. The first was getting a "smoking" room...I'm a smoker and I still don't like smelling that nasty dirty ashtray […] smell in the room, but I guess it was all they had. The second was kind of a big deal on more of a safety side....when coming back to my room after going outside I noticed not 1, but 2 of the emergency "pull boxes" for sounding the fire alarm were both down n with no fire alarm going off I had to assume they had been disabled!! It was horrible and this is why: The back door was propped open(broken), letting the humidity and bugs in. Our door had been broken into or attempted. The metal by lock was dented and the wood on door was chipped away by the lock. The pool was closed. We walked by the housekeeping room on our way to our room and the door was open. Thought it was strange there was no elevator or if there was one no one pointed it out to me. The pool had a sign that stated "closed for maintenance" yet there were people swimming in it. Either take the sign down or throw the people out. Overall for a business trip it was in a good location for my work purpose and it was a nice, clean hotel.

Room was dirty. The floor had not been vacuumed. When we pulled the sheets back there was hair in the beds. Rooms have not been kept up very well. The lights next to the bed had bulbs out. I found the staff polite but abrupt in manner. Rooms were not ready when needed, The room was clean but there was an odor, like smoke though we were in a non smoking room. The continental breakfast was not very good, some items were stale or non existant and the flow to get the items was tight and at cumbersome.

The lobby is attractive and updated. The room seemed clean. The bedspreads and blankets seem wrinkly and older. The carpeting especially on the stairs is older and matted down. Breakfast was sufficient and plentiful. Nothing impressive but it met our needs.

I think that some remodeling and hiring some descent looking people to work there is in order.....!! The hotel was not clean at all, the maintenance man left tools on the steps, the steps were really dirty, our room wasn't very clean. The mirrors were dirty, the toilet and sink were stopped up, the remote did not work and three light bulbs were blown. […] Also the lady that was taking care of the continental breakfast was very kind but here teeth were gone and nasty looking ....!! Our room was clean and in good condition, complete with a mini-fridge, microwave, and coffee maker, and the two double beds were comfortable.
