"Convenient to Downtown Detroit"
The room was clean and comfy. The staff was outstanding!! I could not find a cab to get to the train station and the valet went above and beyond to get me there on time. I would definately recommend this hotel and will stay there again if the opportunity arises! Love it!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Hotel close to downtown"
The hotel itself is very nice and clean. The staff is exceptional and very friendly and helpful. The room itself is kind of plain and small but was clean. If you are looking for a place to feel comfortable without a lot of frills this is the place to stay. Will return to this hotel next time I go up to Detroit.Genuine Expedia guest review
"St Regis in Detroit was ok..."
The hotel was inconvenient to the downtown area. The staff was very efficient and friendly but there was no place close to go out and the staff seemed to think it would be unsafe. Rooms need a facelift (chipped paint and worn) but it was fine....Genuine Hotels.com guest review
My husband and I were pleasantly surprised upon checking in. We'd read some mixed reviews...and you never quite know what you're going to get. The hotel is beautiful and very clean. Not the best part of town...and definitely don't take side-streets to get there from Comerica Park (we mistakenly went down St. Aubin- eek!) The only complaint is the thin […] walls. People tend to let their doors slam & we heard a lot of it. Luckily, our neighbors were, for the most part, quiet and went to bed at a decent hour. Had that not been the case, it would've made for a long night. The cost was a bit more than we'd like to spend...but it was a sold-out weekend due to the music festival & Tigers/Indians home series so we understand the rate spike. We'd certainly come back. very nice staff, and white castle around the corner, need I say more!Genuine Expedia guest review
there was a centipede in the room upon entry. We had to get the key re-formatted 3 times in 3 days. There was a required valet for your car @ $20/night. All in all ; you get what you pay for and if i were to return id upgrade and not return here.Genuine Expedia guest review

"A mediocre experience"
The room and the bed were good. The housekeeping waking us up by knocking on doors throughout the hallway starting at 9am yelling "Housekeeping" over and over were unacceptable for a holiday weekend. Sound carried well and we could hear everything in the hallway. Given we paid $180, the 11am checkout and post "12pm" fine seemed like poor service to […] me Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Nice place - comfortable bed!"
My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel when we traveled to Detroit for a concert at the Masonic Temple. The concert was less than 3 miles away, so it was convenient. It is also only a few miles away from the Motor City Casino if that's your thing. The bed was super comfortable. We had a couple drinks at the bar downstairs and had a normal experience […] with that. This is the second time we've stayed at this hotel. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Doesn't deserve 4 stars!"
The staff was courteous but either inept or ignorant about things. The valet, first of all. We waited a good five minutes after checking out for them to bring our car around. Finally, he appears and claims the car wouldn't start. As it turns out, he was trying to drive the WRONG car. We called down to the front desk about the room temperature three […] times and the guy was NO HELP at all. We finally had to switch rooms. They only had one person working in the restaurant on a Saturday morning. One person to host, take orders, cook, and serve. CRAZY. Once you get past the lobby, the hotel is badly in need of renovation. Not all the elevator buttons light up. The tubs are so old there's a permanent dirt ring around it. Paint chipped walls. Cracks in the ceiling. Stained carpeting. Torn chair upholstery. Here are the positives. The bedding was soft and clean. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Cleanliness of room was poor. Room needed to be ventilated. Bed spreads were soil and window treatments needed cleaning also The weather changed ( temperature dropped into the 40's) , thermonstat would not adjust to a warmer setting. This was a concerned because I was sharing the room with my senior parent. Requested additional blankets ( condition […] of blankets; torn with holes in them. I finally requested a space heater which provided the comfort that my parent required. The waitng staff of the hotel restaurant are very professional and pleasant. "Some parts were good, some bad."
I was here for the weekend with a friend. The staff was not very helpful with any recommendations and the kitchen was closed on multiple occasions when we just wanted something easy. Getting any information seemed to be like pulling teeth. We felt that we were stuck every time we had to hand over the keys. It did not seem like a safe area when the sun […] went down. Although some of the staff was very friendly and helpful. We were lucky to bump into them on an occasion or two. They were the only few who seemed to enjoy what they do and show it. Overall, not my favorite place. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Not a good business choice"
Room felt dirty, out of date. Barely slept because the lack of working AC. Non attentive staff, given multiple different excuses for lack of air. Highlight of the stay was La Musique Restaurant.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Pretty Hotel in Old Town with friendly staff"
The hotel is actually really pretty inside, and they were repainting when we there. The only problem we had was that when we arrived to our room the thermostat read 90 degrees. Went to front desk and they sent someone up to adjust temp but heating system was changed over to use AC because of time of year. The staff allowed us to view 3 other rooms and […] pick a new room. We ate in the restaurants bar and food was very good and reasonably priced. Staff were great for information and assistance, friendly, and pleasant to interact with!! When we checked out the clerk at the desk actually stamped our parking ticket for free (which is normally$20/day for valet parking) due to the issues with our original room being so hot. We were in Detroit for an educational credentialing course at Wayne State University and would stay here again. FYI if you are looking to be where the nightlife is, this hotel is not close to nightlife and you will have to drive and pay parking or take a taxi for 5-10 miles for entertainment. "Bring a fan...."
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean. The only issue was the heater was on and it was locked by the hotel. We could not use the AC to cool the room down. We called the front desk and they told us to turn the fan off and open the window. That worked for the heat problem but we had to hear traffic and people all night long.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great Opening Day Stay!"
We love this hotel. Use it every time we come down to stay overnight for a baseball game. Short commute to the stadium and the staff is super friendly!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Think twice before staying here"
The building itself has potential. It does look run down despite a sign saying it was newly renovated. Windows were not clean, dust throughout the hotel and especially the room. The neighborhood is not the best and because there is a lack of safe parking you are forced to pay $20 a night to have your vehicle parked behind the property. I was told there […] was validation for parking but when I checked out I was told that was incorrect and was forced to pay. For the price, even at a discounted rate, the cost was not justified. I can honestly say, I will not be staying at the Hotel St. Regis again and I will deter others as well. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Might want to look elsewhere!"
Booked my double queen room approx. 3 weeks before my arrival. When I booked the room it was important to us (2) to have an early, continental breakfast included. At the time of booking that was what was advertised and even printed off onto my confirmation page. Upon arrival, I was told that the continental breakfast was discontinued and with some questioning […] and showing of it on my confirmation page I was given 1 breakfast pass. When asked for 2 , since there were 2 of us in the room, I was told that I was getting "pushy". I was only given passes for 1 days stay and for the entire length of my stay. Went to use them and the restaurant did not open until 8 am, to late for us to take advantage of. The front desk staff were not at all gracious, but the gentlemen that ran the valet service were EXTREMELY nice and very polite and helpful. Talking from the next room could be heard all night and do not get a room by the elevator since you can hear everyone who gets on and off all night. Mentioned it to the front desk upon checkout and they could not have cared less. The reason for a 3 rating of the staff is because the valets were so wonderful, Not because the front desk was accommodating. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Perfect for catching the train"
I was in town for a quick break between trains. The hotel is a super-quick walk to the Amtrak station, which is why I picked it. The service was friendly, though I asked for a 5:00am wake-up call (to catch an early train) and the call didn't come until 5:30. Room was fine, coffee was good. The hotel was clearly pretty snazzy back in the day when Detroit […] wasn't Beirut. The neighborhood is nothing special. But again, if your purpose is to get some sleep before catching a train, this is the spot. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

The staff at the hotel were extremely pleasant and helpful. The hotel was well kept and clean and the room was comfortable and close to the casinos we were visiting. Overall it was a great experience and I plan to stay there again when we visit Detroit.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Lobby and restaurant are beautiful. Rooms comfortable and updated, except for old tub and loose door. Quiet, safe, very close to main attractions downtown. Valet parking quick. "A good stay."
We stayed for one night to attend an event near by. The stay and everything about the hotel was just fine. Its close to Wayne State and the Motown Museum. The surrounding neighborhood does not offer many restaurants on the weekends. Overall the hotel has good quality of service. Thanks!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Location for Henry Ford Hospital"
The location of this hotel is the only reason to stay here. It is so close to Henry Ford Hospital and it's offices. We checked in on New Years Day and found upon check in at 4:00 pm that the restuarant was closed until the next morning. We had to order pizza and have it delivered to our room or venture out to find a restuarant in downtown Detroit! Not […] what we two women had in mind. When we went up to our room we found one bed instead of the two queens which we had a reservation for. We had to call down and have our room changed, which was fine. The new rooms heating system was not working properly and we could not get the temperature below 72 degrees even with the heat turned off!!! It was a very warm night. The continental breakfast which was included with the room was very basic but worked. Again this could be a great hotel with someone to give it some TLC! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Nice hotel - you need a car tho"
I liked the total, it was really good value for money. The free breakfast from 6-8 am sucked really hard though. It is impossible to get around if you do not have a car in Detroit, so rent a car! Do even bother to walk around or take public, you might get mucked!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
