Overall, not a bad experience but they only had 2 bedrooms with 1 king bed in each of it for 4 adults and 3 kids... They provided inflatable mattresses for the first night (but didn't do the bed!) and moved us to two 2 queen beds bedrooms for the end of our stay. Their reaction was really disappointing as we had to ask for everything (inflattable mattresses, […] compensation, move to other rooms...) and they kept blaming Hotels.com for not having let us know that they didn't have the right rooms available... not a great customer consideration and service. Attentiveness of the entire staff was spot on. Fabulous spa facility. Hotel was VERY comfortable in all aspects, the bed was exceptionally comfortable at the end of the day, which is essential in San Francisco. Very clean throughout the hotel. Perfect location.

We still had to move the next day because the additional people didn't stay there the first nigth which is the only reason I agreed to the King Room. The Hotel Manager was most accommodating of my late flight schedule. I had requested an extension of the checkout time and I was graciously given a complimentary reasonably extended time. I was also able to check in on the date I arrived, 25th December, as soon as I arrived at the hotel around 0930H--I did not have to wait until the check-in time.

Perfect location. Good room size. Great views. I was there with my wife and 5 year old son. We were able to walk almost everywhere. It is also conveniently located next to cable cars and the BART. The pool and hot tub on the 5th floor were a great way to end the night. I loved it and will definitely stay here on my next trip to San Francisco.

Stayed on the 25th floor. Room size was small. Forgot about paying to park - valet is 60.00 and i guess we could have parked across the street for 20.00. Proximity to shopping and other things were great!

This is an excellent hotel. The staff, the rooms, the veiws, the restaurants and lounges, the location, are all wonderful. We enjoyed our stay here very much. And the price was reasonable, but relative. If you don't mind paying for internet, parking, use of the locker room, etc., then this hotel is a SWEET place to stay. It's located close to an I-80 […] exit, all kinds of shopping and restaurants, not too far from China Town and the Embarcadero. It's a tad noisy at night if you're near the ground floor - and that's ok if you like the faint sound of street musicians. I thought it was cool. There is also a lot of traffic and hustle-bustle outside the motel. The bar and grill on the 39th floor has 360 degree breathtaking views and a nice atmosphere. Read more

We had a fine stay. There was a convention going on during the dates of our stay, so the hotel was really crowded at certain times of the day. The bar on floor 39 was a great view, just slow service (Friday eve). Our room was quite a long way/walk from the main desk and front lobby.

Our Stay was awesome. The location was excellent for us. I cant say enough about the staff. Always pleasant and always very helpful. The only thing that prevented me from giving the hotel a 5 star was the fact that there wasn't any Internet in the room without a charge. There was Internet in the lobby but extremely slow. And the charge for it in your […] room to me was too pricey. When shopping for a hotel, we were looking for a continental breakfast and Internet. I am not sure if Expedia had it wrong or if the hotel had it wrong or just very misleading. Either way we couldn't find the continental breakfast and wound up using our own data plan for internet.When we did have breakfast in the hotel, It wound up costing us over $60. for the two of us. We should have gone across the street to Denny's ... would have been a lot cheaper. If you don't mind spending money then this is the hotel for you. I have nothing bad to say about the hotel itself and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. Read more

The MARRIOTT MARQUIS HOTEL on 4th Street is conveniently located near the Powell BART/MUNI stations, so you can just take the BART from either Airport (Oakland or San Francisco). The room was very clean and the beds were super comfortable. Hotel staff was very pleasant and helpful, and even though the check-in time is listed as 4pm, we arrived at about […] 2:45pm and were just going to ask them to hold our luggage, but they let us check-in at that time. Another thing that was good was the roll away bed: It's pretty large and we needed it for a friend who was just staying for two nights. The reason it only gets 4-stars is the refrigerator in the room is already stocked with SUPER EXPENSIVE drinks like water and soda, so you can't use it for your own stuff. If you move a drink it automatically charges to the room Another draw back is that you get charged if you want to use wi-fi or wired internet in your room. Even though the guest (free) wifi shows up on the list of options on my iPhone and Tablet in the room, we were on the 8th floor, I couldn't connect. My friend says it works in the lobby. Ice is free and the room comes with coffee maker and free coffee. There's also an ironing board, iron, shampoo & conditioner, face and body soap bars, body lotion, and hair dryer. The room was very quiet; but maybe nobody was booked in the rooms next to us, not sure. The hotel was also in a good location close to Walgreens, 7-11, Mel's Diner, and Denny's. Read more

I stayed at this hotel with my co-workers. It was a wonderful experience! The staff was amazing the rooms were beautiful, and the restaurants and Starbucks inside were a huge plus! I would recommend this place to everyone looking to get away for the weekend or have a business event. Will definetaly be returning :)
