This hotel was wonderful. Beautiful courtyard, great location. Room felt like classic New Orleans. We could walk everywhere from our location. Around a lot of the "go to" restaurants, like Mr. B's, Antoines, ACME Oysters. The only thing that might bother people is the noise. Because the room doors are almost all open to the courtyard, you can hear a […] lot from the room. We were not in the room that much, so it really did not bother us. We also live in a city, so we are kinda used to the noises. But I don't think any hotel in the French Quarter will be "quiet." Loved this hotel, and would recommend it and use it again myself. "Just around the corner from all of the action"
I would definitely stay again. It's a beautiful old hotel with very friendly service. We really appreciated the included breakfast, but the coffee was pretty terrible (sorry). The location was ideal - close enough to the action, but just enough out of the way to have a little quiet. It was worth the cost.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Excellent service and beautiful historic structure.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Absolutely lovely hotel in the center of the French Quarter. We had a courtyard facing room and never heard a thing from nearby Bourbon. The bed was so comfortable and the bathroom was roomy and had a wonderful shower. Beautiful open courtyard in the center where we ate breakfast (buffet breakfast included) and had drinks there at night. The staff couldn't […] of been more helpful from calling cabs to answering questions and I'd go back in a second. We didn't rent a car and the location was perfect for walking and it was very easy to walk to the streetcar or hail a cab. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Perfect hotel and location"
The location of this hotel is ideal, right around the corner from Bourbon Street. So you get the proximity without all the noise (though there will be some noise, it's New Orleans after all). We opted for the deluxe King room and I would highly recommend paying the extra for this. Our friends got the petite King and it was so much smaller. We also asked […] for a room above the 2nd floor and hotels.com delivered! The beds were comfortable, though the pillows could have been fluffier. The floors and bathrooms are gorgeous with beautiful marble floors and shower. The included breakfast buffet is decent, but just the basics like eggs and bacon. I give them a gold star for customer service. One of the lens fell out of my glasses and I was in a panic. When I went to the front desk to inquire about a nearby drugstore, they sprang into action and sent down a maintenance man to fix them for me! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Boutique hotel."
The staff went out of their way to be helpful. They were waiting with umbrellas and bottles of water before we reached the front door for our daytime excursion. The bar has excellent lighting and there are many locals enjoying the unusual drinks. You can also enjoy your beverages in the courtyard. The room doors open onto the courtyard which has a cover […] they put in place if it is raining allowing you to still enjoy the outside. Nice size bathroom with hair dryers. Room was compact, but not too tight. Overall great experience. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Excellent location close to Bourbon but not too"
Very nice hotel, The staff was friendly and attentive. The hotel is a little noisy because of the courtyard and the brick floors outside the rooms. The pillows were hard, but all in all the hotel is very nice..Genuine Hotels.com guest review

My husband can't stop raving about this hotel. They were on top of everything. Very helpful and great advice about NOLA.Genuine Expedia guest review
We love the location and the staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast service and staff outstanding! Don't know the age of our bed mattress but it was uncomfortable -worn in the center. Despite the mattress, "we'll be back."Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"A cozy hotel"
A long overdue trip for us :) New Orleans is just the way we had always pictured it. Great food, colorful city and friendly people.Genuine Expedia guest review
we stayed 4 nights in a third floor superior room that advertised a view of the french quarter or the courtyard. The only view we had was that of a white tarp covering the courtyard. As we had paid extra for a room with a view, we asked to change rooms. Twice we were told nothing available and to check back the next day, on our third day we gave up […] and just "enjoyed" our view of the tarp. The room itself was pleasant, just disappointed that we wasted money on the "upgrade" Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

the hotel Mazarin was a wonderful experience. We were greeted by friendly staff, making us confortable.the rooms were recently renovated and very clean. The hotel is right in the French quarter which makes most attractions within walking distance.they included a buffet breakfast in their price, which is a nice touch.Genuine Expedia guest review
"business conference/vacation combination"
Hotel was nice, however we found out a deluxe room was cramped for two people. Limited closet space, but bathroom was updated, and nice. Very nice bed, and location was excellent, a half block from Bourbon Street, and a half block fromRoyal Street.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great hotel in French Quarter"
My wife and I were looking for a hotel other than our usual Hyatt that did not try to nick us for things like WiFi. We came up with Hotel Mazarin. What an excellent find. We were not disappointed in any respect. Our room was every bit as nice as the big name hotels. Breakfast was super and included I might add. The courtyard was picturesque. The people […] friendly and helpful. It might have been the room we had or just lucky but for us I would have to rank it on par with the best I've had in New Orleans but with the charm the others don't have. This was a wonderful little hotel in a great location, sadly I did not get to explore very long. Ended up being a very short trip. this is in a very close area to French Quarter, without all the noise! Has a beautiful little Continental breakfast, in a peaceful atrium setting. Staff was very helpful & friendly!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good location BUT"
The staff in the restaurants was fantastic. Breakfast was OK. The front desk staff was hit or miss. Night staff was much friendlier than the morning staff. The location is excellent. The CONS: unless you get a room that is not near the courtyard you will NOT get ANY sleep!!! The noise from the courtyard in the mornings can easily be cured with some […] earplugs BUT the noise from the housekeeping staff is OUT OF CONTROL! Each morning I was awoken by the housekeepers not just speaking loudly but screaming. I have never stayed in a hotel where this happened. I have traveled the world including third world countries and I have NEVER experienced this. It is completely ridiculous. Especially when you consider that people who come to NOLA often stay out very late. I would absolutely NOT recommend this hotel!!! By the way the bathroom mirror and baseboard had spots on it which is gross and when I was looking for my other shoe under the bed I was very Unpleasantly surprised a the filth. "Right next to Bourbon Street"
Even though the hotel was built in 1970, it still captures that quaint old architecture that IS the Old French Quarter with a great courtyard and comfortable rooms. Our room overlooked Bienville so it was in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the Bourbon Street madness. There were only a couple of negatives; a musty smell in both the elevator and […] the room especially when we walked in, plus the windows didn't open (which may contribute to the smell), but after a while it wasn't too noticeable. The staff was super accommodating; we asked for an early check in and received it. The guy at the front desk carried our bags and ensured we had my vehicle under the covered area we we were leaving since it was pouring. The complimentary breakfast was great; grits, bacon, eggs, yogurt, cereals, etc. and while the price was a bit steep, I would definitely recommend it, especially if you want to have a bit of calm right in the middle of the Bourbon Street madness. "Close to all we wanted to see"
Our stay at your hotel was a delightful experience. The room was so clean. In fact the whole hotel was spotless. The staff was so professional yet friendly and helpful. The one and only complaint we have is the bed was a little too soft for us. Otherwise we give it a five star.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"EXCELLENT kept hotel with INCREDIBLE staff"
This hotel was extremely nice with a staff of nice and efficient employees. From the moment we arrived and met Larry (who is awesome, by the way) at the front desk everything was perfect. Valet took our car and parked it and made us feel ver comfortable that everything would be fine. When we opened the door to our hotel room we knew it was going to […] be a perfect stay, which it was!! The motel is less than 1/2 a block from Bourbon street but, it was very quiet. The free breakfast was more than adequate and had plenty to choose from. Anything we needed we just asked at the front desk and they were more than willing to help. Help was available all the way up to the last interaction as we left with the valet who asked us if we needed directions to get out of the city. He gave us wonderful , easy, and quickest directions to leave the busy city. This hotel will be my only stay if ever back in NOLA!!!! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Great place, will absolutely book this hotel again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
hotel Mazarin is as close to Bourbon Street as you can get without actually being on it. It was so convenient for all activities that we booked during our stay. As expected, being close to the action makes the evenings a bit noisier but that is a decision you need to make - location or privacy. The rooms were very nice but I found the bed quite uncomfortable […] for some reason and I am normally a very good sleeper. Better pillows probably would have helped. "Good hotel off Bourbon St"
The front desk was extremely helpful. There is a complimentary breakfast everyday which was very good! The hotel has a beautiful courtyard with a fountain that runs 24/7 so if you are a light sleeper it could be an issue. "Intimate hotel located in the French Quarters"
Enjoyed the hotel its location is great but also a curse being conveniently located in the French Quarters close to several attractions but also close to Bourbon St. which is entertaining but stinks awfully. I was extremely satisfied with my stay at Hotel Mazarin. The entire staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I especially liked one of the "butlers" in the courtyard who assisted during the complimentary breakfast, which was a huge plus. He was quick to set up the table for me and open the door for me as needed. The location of the Hotel was spot on, […] although it did get a little loud at night. I would recommend ear plugs so that it wouldn't be an issue. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone interested in staying in the French Quarter. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Fabulous location, great service!"
Hubby and I stayed here for a week for our anniversary and found it exceed our expectations on every level...spotlessly clean and comfy accommodations. That said, let me tell you about the complimentary breakfast...oh, my was it wonderful! A grand buffet of sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs, cereal, yogurt, grits, toast, muffins, croissants and pastries […] (the chocolate drizzled ones were divine!) and the freshest possible fruit and juices. The lady who oversees the buffet operations was so completely friendly and professional (we enjoyed listening to her direct the staff, telling them that every detail was very important!), and she let us know that if we wanted made-to order eggs or omelets, or pancakes, all we had to do was ask one of the staff. Those pancakes, btw, almost floated off the plate they were so light and fluffy! The toiletries provided were fine quality, and service was superb! James at the front desk was greatl, and one more thing that I really appreciated, they didn't charge extra for the water bottles in the room...you really need them when walking around outside in August. Located one block off Bourbon St, and close to everything you come to NOLA for! Fabulous food nearby, Emeril's NOLA, Tony Moran's Italian next door, and my favorite: Get a muffaletta and a bloody mary at Gazebo Cafe on Decatur, and listen to live blues. Hop on the street car a couple blocks away and see the art and history museums...worth the trip. Just $3 for an all day ride pass! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Love this Hotel"
I confess I booked this hotel for our first stay in New Orleans because of its rates, as well as its proximity to Bourbon St. I didn't care much about other amenities. But I was pleasantly surprised to find a delightful room, comfortable bed, great TV and beautiful Bath, along with all the extras like an iron and free bottled water in the refrigerator. […] I actually hesitate to post this review because I'm afraid the rates will go up as a result, and I intend to stay there next summer! It's perfectly located for what we like to do. The staff was great. At around 9 or 10 pm my 19 year old daughter went to the front desk and asked if there was a snack machine. They did not have one, but the staff told her there was a Walgreens a few blocks over and he offered to ESCORT HER! If you know what the French Quarter is especially at night... Hats off to that young man! Breakfast was wonderful […] and surprisingly served until 11 AM. You can request made to order eggs from the ladies in the dining room. Valet parking is a nightmare. On arrival I wasn't sure where to leave my car and no one was outside. It took about 35-40 minutes to get the next AM. One other complaint was that they had a tacky tarp up to cover the courtyard. I thought they were doing construction or something. When I opened my room door that's all I could see. I found out later it was for shade and to keep the birds out of the trees in the courtyard, but it really dampened the environment and enjoyment of the hotel for anyone 3rd floor and up. Request a 2nd floor room if available. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Good location, Friendly staff, Clean!"
Hotel Mazarin is a good choice if you want to be close to the action in downtown New Orleans. The rooms were very clean, the beds were comfortable, and the staff was exceedingly helpful. You are about 1 block or less from being right in the middle of Bourbon Street, so this can get a little rowdy, but maybe that's what you're looking for. Breakfast […] is kind of standard, nothing to write home about, but sufficient. Be prepared for a difficult drive to/from the hotel, as there could be huge amounts of people that don't care about being in the middle of the street, and parking is going to cost you (no parking at the hotel unless you get a valet). There were public parking lots around the area, but I wasn't able to find one within walking distance with luggage that was any cheaper than the hotel's valet service. "The Best Of The Best"
The Hotel was great. Upon arriving I was greeted at the street by the Hotels friendly staff. "Wonderful hotel with great breakfast bar"
We could not have been happier in the French Quarter than at Hotel Mazarin. I used to live in New Orleans, so I am familiar with the area. I looked hard on the internet and could not find a better location with better reviews for its continental breakfast. The reviews did not lie. We never even used our car. Everything we wanted to do was within walking […] distance or a streetcar ride. The rooms are luxurious and the staff friendly and helpful. We loved the courtyard and the breakfast buffet. You could hardly call it "continental." It had everything from eggs, grits, bacon, sausage, fresh fruit, cereal-and it was all delicious. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great location but terrible hotel staff service"
The location was ideal in the French Quarter but our interactions with the hotel staff was less than great. When asked for a roll-away bed, the front desk gave us a lot of attitude, even though we requested it through Expedia and were charged triple occupancy for the reservation. Once we convinced the staff to bring a roll-away bed, housekeeping simply […] knocked on the door and literally dumped the bed in the doorway and walked away. We had to call housekeeping again to bring linens, and when they did, they just dropped it on the bed and tried to leave without making it up. When asked for an extra pillow, the housekeeping staff actually rolled her eyes, argued, and finally gave in and came back with an extra pillow for the cot. In addition, the room was made up for guests that were not actually staying in that particular room (as seen by the card from the manager tailored to those guests---not with our party---and it was clearly a mistake). Overall we never truly felt welcomed in the hotel, which is a shame because the valet and bellman were so polite and courteous, and the hotel itself is beautiful and wonderfully located in the city. The attitude and lack of professionalism of the front desk and housekeeping, however, left a damper on the stay which would lead me not to recommend the hotel to my friends. A note to Mazarin: do your job and always be courteous and professional with your guests in every aspect---you made us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome in your establishment.
