They ran out of regular coffee in the rooms but accommadated us anyway. Had a problem with the morning waitresses in the resturant but after talking with the manager about it, the problem was fixed. The night crew at the desk was very helpful with anything encluding directions. The hotel was fine for one night. Pretty noisy, though, between planes overhead and cars on the street (even on the 4th floor). They could invest in more soundproof windows. One small annoyance was that we asked at the desk when the free King Street trolley starts running because we needed to get up King St to our next hotel (for a conference). We were transferred to the nearby Crowne Plaza. The accommodations were good but we were charged 20$ per day for parking. Additionally the usage fee for WIFI was 9.95$ per day I feel that this is a "ripoff" as I have stayed all over the country and Europe and almost alway have free WIFI.

While the hotel was clean there are things in need of repair. Had to wait at check-in while there were only 3 people to check in and 3 employees at counter. Paid in advance for breakfast and then had problems getting it. The breakfast was not very good the service very slow. We ended up going to a cafe up the block and getting something to eat. We should […] not have had to pay twice for the same meal. The shuttle was late going and coming back. There was standing room only on the return we had to stand or wait another 45 minutes for the next one. My family stays with Holiday Inn 10 or more days a year. The hotel has easy access via free shuttle to Metro stations , and there are several good local restaurants in short walking distance. Giant brand grocery store actoss the street which we used for light breakfast food each day. Room was clean and everything worked, and staff was very friendly and helpful. Would stay there again if back in the area.

The service at this hotel left a lot to be desired. When we checked in and headed to our room, there were 5 maids in the hallway sitting and talking in front of our door. I enjoyed my stay here. The staff was attentive and the food was good at the hotel. There is even a grocery store directly across the street of the hotel, so you can get your own goodies! It is also a good location to visit the National Harbor area. The taxi ride was reasonable. Very economically and comfy.

We booked late for a competition at the Gaylord Convention Center. This hotel was in a beautiful, historic area. The surroundings were safe. MANY places to eat and shop. The staff was accommodating and helpful. I would stay again in a second.

This hotel is off the beaten path located in a residential and light corporate area but convenient to airport and downtown Alexandria via hotel shuttle (shared with another hotel nearby) and makes a couple of runs every hours. Great price, great location. Room was in Ok shape only (i.e., door nob broken in the bathroom door). Only a partial complement of towels. The garage is a pain with half of the parking spaces hard to squeeze into because of the columns. Still, a good value overall.

I am temporarily using a walking cane. When your site said this hotel has limited parking, I asked the person assisting me if I was too late to secure a parking space? If so, I could book another hotel. She said I was fine. When I arrived, the garage was CLOSED due to construction. I had to park three blocks away! There was a shuttle to bring me back […] to the hotel. But the fact that I informed them of a late night check-in after a very long work day, luggage and a cane were too much. Not one staff member offered to take the vehicle for me or even assist with my luggage. The first room they gave me was directly across from the VENDING and ICE machines! Through the door I could hear both machines as if they were inside the room with me! A lady from the cleaning staff (felt sorry for me) and called the front desk for a new room assignment. She then, took me from the third floor to the fifth floor for the new room. Once in the shower I noticed these long black hairs on the wall tiles and in the tub (this concerned me because I'm bald). The same hair was on the toilet , in the sink and on the bathroom floor. As I turned down the bed for the night, I noticed more long black hair! At that point, I turned the covers back up and lay on top of them (fully clothed). Needless to say, I did not sleep. I lay there contemplating what I should do. But I was entirely too exhausted to fight! This was by far, one of the worse hotel experiences I've EVER had outside a third world hotel stay! Read more

Got a good deal on the room and it was adequate. Only complaint was that the room wasn't completely clean(toenails on bathroom floor, a few hair strands in shower, and a personal clothes hangar on entryway floor.) Everything else was in order and we would stay again if the price was right. Staff was nice. No other complaints.

The work out room, pool and parking garage are closed for maintenance. Yes, the parking garage. You have to park on the street, which, in crowded Alexandria. Lots of parking restrictions especially during weekdays can make this challenging. We always found a spot. The breakfast was ample but not remarkable. Staff was fine. Room was boring but clean. Towels weren't soft, TV a bit small, no convenient outlets for the iron. Breakfast staff were very polite but food was poor. Eggs always runny, coffee watered down, etc. It's what you'd expect from a big chain.
