"Awful experience"
Choose somewhere other than here! Nice location, gardens and rooms are ruined by shockingly bad reception staff. They failed to honour pre-booked and confirmed hotel pickup and were then argumentative in an expensive 15 minute phone call from airport arrivals; ended up having to find own taxi. Dismally poor service from check-in staff; only one member of staff working, the others behind the counter preoccupied with their own concerns. Even the one-working staff openly prioritised incoming phone calls to serving the waiting guests. Rude, off-hand and entirely unhelpful staff for simple requests like an iron or help with organising tours. Nothing in mini-bar and no food or drink available (apart from water) within the hotel grounds or nearby to hotel, except from hotel restaurants. Mistake made by staff with final bill resulted in a phone call from reception staff to us in the airport taxi, once again with unprofessional, argumentative and entirely unacceptable attitude. Beware of the in-house tour company, Cobra travel; mandatory hidden extras revealed after payment may make the price EIGHT TIMES the one quoted for tours, such as to the pyramids.

"The Dirtiest room i ever used"
I worked in the tourism and hotels in Egypt and abroad many years but the 1 night in this hotel was shock. My room was the worst room a traveller can expect from 60 Euros per night room in Cairo. the workers told me that the owner dont spend any money in the maintenance, the basic features and the garden of this hotel would help to create great experience for the guests but ZERO maintenance and cleaning would make the experience of guest catastrophic.

"STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL"
Mercure should remove their name from this hotel or seriously remove the management for the lack of service and understaffing. Breakfast was really really bad and unclean. Wifi is really poor an only in hotel lobby no wifi in room, room was dirty an of poor quality an the surrounding areas are dangerous for couples or any tourist as the locals GRAB you for the trade.

"Lovely staff"
A nice hotel with friendly staff. Good breakfast buffet and restaurants available for dinner, although I would recommend to go outside the hotel for restaurant food. Giza/Cairo is big so cab is a recommendation. The hotel offer full day private driver for a good price. Over all a lovely time!

"Great Hotel"
I have stayed at the Mercure many times and am never disappointed. The Main reason I keep returning is because of the wonderful staff. I am always treated with respect and kindness and when I have a problem{often} they are there to help. Id would like to thank Ghada Makhlouf guest relations and Kareem Adel for all their kindness. Overall, good facilities and location. Staff are friendly and very helpful. Gym, spa and swimming pool are very good. There is also a currency exchange and gift shop on the ground floor. The hotel is a 20 minute walk away or a 5 minute taxi ride away from the giza pyramids complex. The view of the pyramids from the rooftop restaurant is breathtaking. All shops and restaurants are a 10 minute taxi ride away which is good/ bad.

"Don't waste your money on privileged rooms."
Room was dirty, food on table and bench. The balcony hadn't been cleaned. Poor room service in that we had to call a few times to get anything and at times room service did not show up.

"Nice hotel close to the pyramids"
Staff are lovely and will do anything for you, the hotel is a little tired around the edges. We stayed in June and the hotel was quite empty, most people only stay a few days while visiting the pyramids. The pool is very deep, there is a baby pool but this is knee deep on an adult just to be warned. However it is great to get in after a morning of looking at the pyramids in the heat. If venturing outside the hotel make sure your shoulders and knees are covered, as although tourists go to visit the pyramids, there are not many tourists walking around and you can attract unwanted attention.

"Great choice close to the Pyramids"
The hotel was of the highest standard with comprehensive facilities and friendly and helpful staff. The room was very comfortable and extremely clean. The bed was also comfortable which is important when sleeping in a hotel room, where I often struggle to sleep. Only very minor criticism would be the limited opening hours for the roof-top shisha bar, but overall an excellent hotel.

"Worst front desk ever"
I booked 1 room garden view with 2 beds non smoking. They gave me 1 room 1 bed, steet view smoking. I went back and forth 3 times with the fron desk, met with the manager in duty until I got what I booked. Last day in the hotel, no hot water, they keep saying soon, had to leave the hotel. Bad expereince, not coming back to this hotel again.

If you are looking for a 5 star hotel (as rated) avoid it!!! This is an ok hotel, great if you are looking to sleep only. Bed linen was not changed and I haven't had face towels for 2 days. Breakfast was not the best either, no signs to explain what the food was. Room looking very dated and the carpet very stained.

"Stay away from the hotel taxi"
Nice location close to the Great Pyramids of Giza, if that's what you're in Cairo for. Otherwise it's a bit remote. Good standards of the room, but the furniture feels a bit dated. One drawback is that the official hotel taxi has no shame in scamming you. They will offer to take you to the pyramids and back for 200 LE (grossly overpriced), and connect you to a guide and horse riding when you get there. Don't believe for a second that you're getting a good offer, even though the horseback ride is nice 500 LE is far too much to pay for it. They will also try to take you to Papyrus and Perfume "museums", which are really just overpriced shops. Don't go there, and if you do don't buy anything for more than 20% of the listed price. I learned all of this the hard way!

"Not great hotel as it advertise itself!"
I hate to comment negatively. Normally I just leave it if it is minor. I was Disappointed by the staff who turned me away from attending the Party on New Year day though I booked in hotel few days before. They also tried to refuse entry and seat in the club the next day about which I complained to the club manager of the hotel. Imagine being on my own in strange country for a holiday on new year eve, I just rushed in to my bed room. My overall experience was not great. The food was not impressive and funny enough some of the staff collect the forks and spoon from your plate while using it, I wonder if it was discouraging you from going to buffet again! There was barely meat on the buffet. I booked for single double bed room but given a family room of 3 beds. The room was crowded by the beds. The tv wasn't working and I have to call. I really wanted to return to my home as early as possible. The only positive thing I can say is the bar man who serves their expensive charged drinks was friendly and smiles often. I wouldn't recommend to any of my friends.

"Not worth the money"
Tasteless breakfast, dirty rooms, doors that require kicking to open, traffic noise and staff that don't seem to care. I was so disappointed with this branch of the Mercure. The two good things about it were, location and the concierge who was very friendly and helpful. I definitely would not stay there again.

"Beautiful hotel with majestic view of the Pyramid."
Stayed for one night due transit in Cairo on our way to Alexandria. Should have stayed longer due the journey from airport is quite a distance, quite tiring. Greeted by friendly staff, Hana at the reception who is always helpful. Generally all the staff are friendly and helpful. Had unpleasant food experience during our dinner at Pyramid Cafe but after our explaination, the FB Manager apologized and refund the portion that is not edible. In return they also serve us a plate of fresh cut fruits as compliments. Honestly, we enjoyed our stay very much.....

"Cheap for a reason"
Check in was 2pm however my room wasn't ready til 3:15. When I finally got my room they had just finished cleaning it although it was hard to tell. When the cleaning crew closed the door on the way out the lock bolt for the door fell off. I then went to go onto the balcony and the door handle pulled off. Several other items in the room were also in need of maintenance. Don't bother paying for a pyramid view because you won't get one. Another hotel and some trees were blocking my view. The morning breakfast was pretty disappointing with not much to choose from. Overall I figure I got what I paid for. I had a cheap place to stay for 1 night that was close to the pyramids. If I had been planning on staying longer and seeing more sites then I would've definately paid a little more and stayed somewhere else.

"Good Hotel within walking distance of the Pyramids"
The hotel is lovely, with internet in each room and WiFi in the lobby. It boasts gymnasium facilities, a large bar and three restaurantes, as well as a little swimming pool for splashing around with a pleasing area for sunbathing. The staff are very friendly and helpful and overall it is a pleasant place to stay. We had a room facing the garden and there was no traffic noise whatsoever. A room facing the Pyramids costs a little more, but you may experience some traffic noise, as the road outside is quite busy. I doubt you could find anywhere in Cairo that isn't busy! It's a city of 20 million people and jaw-droppingly crowded and bustling. There are very few shops or amenities nearby, and only one restaurante that we could find. It's basically on a road filled with hotels and not much else, but it is within walking distance of the Pyramids!

"Hotel reception was not good"
Hotel reception was not good. We were asked to wait for long time to get out room ready. When we reached, we were told it will be ready in few minutes. So in the meantime, we went to Egyptian Museum and return back after couple of hours. But still our room was not ready and had to wait for more than 45 mins. There is not even some apology or kind words from the reception.

Reception staff were a bit average, not always the most helpful. We had an amAzing waiter at the Romeo and Juliet restaurant, he was fantastic to us. Only 2 of the 3 restaurants were open. Nice view of pyramids from hotel. Biggest concern was you were given a complimentary bottle of water in your room which was never replaced during the stay - the tap water over there is not ideal to drink/brush teeth etc

"A great stop to see the Pyramids"
The hotel itself is a perfect hub to see the Pyramids. Giza itself is not a particularly nice place but as a white tourist in Egypt you expect to get constantly harassed whenever you are near a tourist monument. The staff we great they could not have been better, helping get taxis and so on. The tours/drivers offered by the hotel are a bit on the pricey side (by Egyption standards) when compared to a normal metered taxi but almost worth it to avoid the hassle. We took one our driver was good and explained things as we went along. We still were ambushed into riding camels and all this other stuff at the actual pyramids - but this is almost unavoidable. Set your price and stand your ground. Don't allow yourself to be passed from one guide to the next as they all want a slice of the pie. You may also unexpectedly end up at a papyrus factory and have the discomfort of telling the staff that no you don't want to buy all their souvenirs........ Also go to Dasshur it's much more chilled than the famous Giza Pyramids. Back to the hotel, it's a great Oasis away from the craziness that is Giza. Buffet Breakfast is very good too. Would recommend this hotel if you are wanting a night near the Pyramids.

The hotel is in very good location close to the pyramids and sphinx , near from 6 October city with its huge mall ( Arab's mall ) , and the dream park theme park , far from the Cairo down town , the lobby and rooms furniture and decorating is almost of 4 stars hotel not 5 one and the food too - we only tried the breakfast buffet - and also the cleanse of the rooms . The only 5 star thing was the reception , they are very friendly and helpful ., but the overall it was a good experience

"Very disappointing - 3 stars maximum"
Arrived early in the morning and booked a room the night earlier to guarantee my reservation. I have also asked concierge to book a car from airport to the hotel. Now the bad and disappointing part, 1. I was picked up in a van and charged 400 by the driver. Quoted amount 280 by Sayah (concierge) 2. Filthy room, dusty, leftover food and stains on the bar counter, mouse in the room! 3. Moved to another room – as dirty as the first one. 4. Moved out – asked for taxi to Le Meridian – charged 2000 as night rate!!!! For 3 min ride. I have booked Le Meridian next door – what a difference from the check in to amazing room.

"Great hotel for couples/family"
Great experience over all, staff were very friendly and the view from the hotel was beautiful. Only downside is no wifi in room, and room service took a little too long.

"Great Stay, I would recommend it to anyone."
Lost my wallet while I was there and the staff were really good for trying to help me out by letting me use their computer and phone. I had a great stay there and would recommend it to anyone.

"Excellent for couples"
Best view of the pyramids, many options in food and the breakfast buffet is the best. Also the service in general is good.

O hotel realmente está longe de ser bom. Há muitos fumantes, a internet sem fio está somente na recepção. Está próximo às pirâmides... pelo preço está razoável.

Я с мужем отдыхали в отеле неделю (31 октября по 7 ноября 2015 г).Мы жили в номере privileg.Отель соответствует 3*. Уборка в номерах была каждый день. В номере был бесплатный проводной интернет. Вид был отличный(пирамиды впечатляют!).Русских телевизионных каналов нет.На стойке регистрации с нами говорили неохотно. Завтраки были однообразными и уже на 3 день нам надоели.В период дождей с крыши текла вода и была вероятность подскользнуться.

Chambre confortable, bien situer près des pyramides de Gizah. Déjeuner inclus bien garnit. Seul la piscine est un petite déception. Elle est beaucoup plus petite de ce qu'elle en a l'air.

"Hotel adequado mas com quartos pequenos."

"Ansprechendes Hotel im Bungalow Stil"
Ideales Hotel als Ausgangspunkt zur Besichtigung der Pyramiden. Es bietet sich auch eine Fahrt mit dem Taxi in die Stadt an : Besuch des ägyptischen Museums oder der Zitadelle.
