The room was spacious and well maintained, but it is obvious that the facility is a little old. It was raining and we had to take our baggage from one building to another to find the room. This seemed a bit odd for a place that rains a lot.

The hotel was nice and clean. And the employee's were most helpful, and polite. I even washed a load of clothes. We enjoyed the restaurant, for dinner and breakfast the next morning.

This place is cheap, in every sense of the word. The accommodations are tacky, and look old. The staff is very concerned with making you pay a lot of money for everything, though the facilities are poor - Internet is expensive, etc. However, if you just need a place to stay, it was good enough to sleep in.

The airport shuttle its not entirely free. You have one way to the hotel and one way to the airport. Any additional rides are $10 NZ. Pay the $10 and use the airbus shuttle between the airport and city center. A taxi from the airport to the city is $80 NZ. No a/c either.

Great shuttle with luggage trailer, you will load your own bags, No elevator, will carry bags up large flight of stairs. Basic breakfast (toast) but decent room and great low price.

I placed most items abve the hotel ranking but one drawback was the stale smell in the hallway from lack of ventilation. Thankfully this did not cary over into the room. With some improved ventilation and a bit more variety in the breakfest menu this hotel could make 4 stars. The screen infront of the kitchen door has a latice with brown paper backing […] - it should be turned so the brown latice is visable. The very accomodating car rental next door was a big plus and positive experience too. I would certinly use both again. Read more

After landing late in Auckland we called the hotel for shuttle pick up. It took calling twice in a 45 min-1hour period for them to finally pick us up. We got a 4 hour sleep and took the first shuttle back to the airport. Not real impressed and would have stayed some place else.

The good: Relatively inexpensive. Friendly staff. Clean sheets. Plenty of space in the bathroom. Nice walk-in shower. The airport shuttle operates 24/7. Quick (~5 minutes) and easy access to the airport if you drive yourself. The fuel stations in the area do not gouge like many stations near airports do here in the U.S. The bad: Tree work in progress […] upon arrival. The work was very loud and it blocked the entrance to the main parking lot. Forced to use secondary parking lot with tight parking spaces. Staff did not apologize or otherwise make up for the annoyance and inconvenience. Extremely tight parking spaces. Building seemed old. About a 3 foot by 1 foot section of the carpet in the room was ripped, giving the impression that the building is not in great condition. No air conditioning in the room. (Fan provided, though.) CRT television with poor reception. Room doors did not close completely and therefore lock on their own, so you had to make sure to close it when you left or else you left your room open. All shops in the area close at 5pm. Do your souvenir shopping before you arrive or you will be forced to do so in the airport. Breakfast not open until 7am, so if you have an early flight, then you do not get the breakfast. Not a particularly scenic area. Read more

I'm torn whether to give this hotel a good review or not. Our room ended up being really nice and the hotel seems to be making several improvements. I know this because I saw both an old room and a new room. When we checked in we were given a key to a room that was older and hadn't even been cleaned yet. When we told them at the front desk and showed […] them our print out from expedia that we had paid (the extra couple dollars) for the premium room - they apologized and gave us our new room. That room was very nice, clean, and modern looking. Our night there was relatively uneventful as we were just staying the night before catching a flight. The staff was very helpful in telling us what bus to take when we wanted to go to a movie and the tv in the room also had a movie channel - so we had enough to keep us busy on the rainy day. At breakfast, again we needed our reservation print out to show that we had purchased the "hot breakfast" with our booking. The guy in the restaurant had to ask the front desk what that even meant but we ended up getting a nicely cooked breakfast. In the end, I would still recommend this hotel because it is cheap, close to the airport, and the staff were very helpful as long as you are polite, ask a lot of questions and most importantly have your booking information printed out. The hotel also was in the middle of renovations, so hopefully all the rooms will be as simple and nice as the room we had eventually. Read more

We would definately use Auckland Kiwi Airport Hotel again, but would ask if we may have a room away from the front door as unfortunately it was very very noisey and light so we had very little sleep!!!! Everything else was spot on, the car storage and shuttle service really great!!!

The Auckland Airport Kiwi Hotel is good value for money and provides good service. They picked me up and delivered me back to the airport at very odd hours due to my flight schedules and made sure that I had transport around Auckland for sightseeing and business appointments. We called for the shuttle at the airport, they drove right by us and didn't stop so we had to wait another 30 mins for them to come back and pick us up. Our drain in the shower didn't drain properly, so we would have to stop showering and wait to let it drain before continuing.
