My husband and I stayed here on a weekend getaway to St.Louis. We had no problems at all. The room was spaceous and looked great...everything was clean including the bathroom. There were some renovations going on in the stairway, but there was no noise and it didn't affect our stay in the slightest. The breakfast was ok, for the rate that we paid. The best part was the bar&grill that was literally connected to the hotel; it was great and so convenient. The location was perfect for us, since we traveled to both Six Flags and downtown St.Louis, it was near both areas. We found every location with our GPS. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone!

I looked around the lobby and didn't see anything. I was really only there for a bed to sleep in, for a business meeting the next day, so it served its purpose but if you are on vacation, I would definately stay somewhere else.

Indoor hotel pool was a little bigger than most hotel pools, and had lots of chairs and tables to hang out in. The indoor pool area had video games, and a play area for young children (3-5 yrs), very family friendly. The room we stayed in was just off the indoor pool area, however we had a choice between an indoor room access or an outdoor room access. The hotel is very close to an Irish Pub and Grill next door. The food there was excellent, as well as a really cool lady who made balloon figures at your table. She was worth the trip just to watch. The hotel was a little rundown, however there were men there everyday working on fixing it up, but not in the way or noisy. Well worth the money, and reasonably close to the Zoo, Six Flags, Downtown, and Magic House.

Decent hotel. Room was fine - the best part was the huge atrium with plenty of seating, a playground for kids, arcade games, pool, gym... the worst part was the clientele. There is a designated quiet time of 10pm - 7am, but there were NO controls on the noise after 10pm - there were still kids running around & yelling way past midnight. Woke up around 4pm w/ more noise - they were finally throwing a family out who's teenage kids were still running rampant. They really need to mention quiet time when you check in & have them sign an agreement or something - because as it stands, I won't be back just because of the noise.

We stayed here at the end of July for 5 days, 4 nights. It was clean & comfortable - nothing spectacular, but certainly livable at worst. The only negatives we found (with 2 young kids - 4 & 1) were that the pool was pretty cold and the lobby is not air-conditioned. I don't know if they pair these two together on purpose so that the pool feels nicer when it's hot out, but because there is still no sun to warm you up, it gets pretty chilly, esp at night. Other than that, it's quiet & our room's a/c worked well so we couldn't complain about that. We had a regular 2-double room, which didn't come with a microwave or fridge, but we were able to get a mini-fridge which are available on a first-come, first-serve basis, and a microwave is available for use in the lobby. The breakfast is decent - 2 types of cereal, quaker instant oatmeal, hard-boiled eggs, waffles, toast, biscuits & gravy, juice, coffee, tea & hot cocoa. It was the same every day we were there so I doubt there is much variation throughout the year. It's about a 20 min drive from downtown St. Louis, but very close to a lot of the places we wanted to go - the Magic House, Grant's Farm and St. Louis Zoo. Overall, I definitely recommend it for families with young children or someone just looking for a good deal!

The staff was more than helpful and the maintenance/manager was great! He was right there for whatever was needed. The hotel needs some updates but for the price it couldn't be beat. The indoor pool was nice for the kids, but our room was very small, and with kids you need room. The bathroom vent did not work and the it was hard to stay in the bathroom with no circulation of air. The room door had no barrier strip to keep the bugs out, so through the night we killed bugs from them coming in to the room. The beds were comfortable and clean. I was happy about that. My overall satisfaction for the price that we paid as a family for vacation would be a 2 on the rating scale for this hotel.

This hotel was a tremendous value and the location is superb. It's not fancy, but is very comfortable and my room was extremely clean. Although I was in town for the All Star Game alone, the hotel is more suited for families with a great indoor pool and playground. I was never disturbed by noise, though. The location is close to I-44 and Watson Road - all great ways to access STL. It is also easy to get to the Shrewsbury METROLINK station from this hotel. All-in-all, I was delighted with the stay and will book at this hotel again next year due to the value and cost savings.

Housekeeping was efficient and the room was always clean. Conveniently located near I-44, as well as restaurants and shopping centers. We could hear some noise between rooms (especially in the bathroom), but overall the hotel was quiet. The common area features the pool, arcade games, kids' play area, and a pavilion with tables and chairs for relaxing or playing cards. The in-room hairdryer was nice and powerful to dry a thick head of hair. The biggest drawback is that the pool is not heated, and since it is indoors it's rather cold.

We wanted to stay in one hotel all 4 nights we were in St. Louis. We all enjoyed our time at the hotel - the kids (6 and 8 years old) loved the pool as well as the small playground and arcade. They also loved the fact that there was a machine that you could buy sticky hands, etc from (oh the little things that make them happy!) We loved the fact that Wal-Mart is two minutes away from here and there are lots of places to eat very close too. I don't have one complaint about our stay here - the water pressure/temperature of water was great, the beds were comfortable, and the staff was friendly. We will absolutely stay at this hotel again anytime we go back to St. Louis.

It's fine. You get what you pay for. It could really stand some renovations, but for the price, it's fine.

There is no access control on the outside doors so anyone can enter day/night. MANY doors were damaged and had pry marks on the door/frame where people had forced the door open. My door actually had a very large chunk missing so that the catch was visibly exposed...I used my credit card to pop open the door. Obviously this hotel has unauthorized visitors staying in their rooms frequently...possibly homeless or people from the popular bar which is connected to the hotel. I didn't ask for a different room because the dead bolt & slide bolt worked fine & we checked in at 10pm & were leaving early. Aside from the creepy vibe that caused, I should note at no time did I feel "unsafe" while there. The indoor pool and indoor playground were nice and the breakfast was quite good. Very friendly staff also. Obvious security upgrades needed & carpet, shower, sink, etc could use some maintenance to increase appeal.

The room was a nice size and the bed quite comfortable. The water pressure and temperature were very good. The hotel as a whole was definitely a little outdated and some things were in need of repair, but nothing major. Overall, the room and service we received were great for the price we paid.

Room worked out well for what we needed. Hotel was easy to find and in a convenient area. Hotel was definitely older and could use some renovating. Lacked basic things in the room like a separate light in the bathroom and sink area and a fan in the bathroom to help with moisture. The only problem we had with our two night stay was the lack of ice from the 2 ice machines. Neither worked and the only explanation was that too many people needed ice.

My girlfriend and I have stayed in this hotel several times and have always enjoyed it. No weird smells or obnoxious neighbors have turned up yet, and until something goes wrong we will keep returning. You can't beat the value.
