We loved the Harbour Rocks-the location could not be beat as we were about a 2 minute walk to circular quay and to the harbour bridge. The area is full of great cafes, restaurants and lots of live music. The staff at the Harbour rocks was so friendly and helpful. We especially enjoyed Paul, who works at the front desk/bar and was an absolute pleasure. […] Our first evening we were too jet-lagged to go far and ate dinner at the bar, which was delicious as well. Overall, cannot recommend this boutique hotel enough! The rooms are a bit small but the hotel is in great shape. Love the staff and you cannot beat the location.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This lovely boutique hotel is so close to Circular Quay, you can walk there in minutes. If you're going on a cruise, you can roll your luggage down the street to the ship! The staff is super friendly and the hotel is nice size. The only criticism is that there is not elevator (lift). There is a luggage "dumb waiter" so you don't have to trudge your […] bags upstairs. If you have a problem with stairs, ask for a room on the first floor. It's worth it. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"A Rock's Beauty!"
Our family of three have just spent the New Years week at this hotel. The location was great, the inhouse restaurant & surrounding restaurants didnt dissapoint, the beds were so beautiful we slept in every day. Two things not so good was the Internet access - which we ended up using the free 3 hr offer from the Rendezvous Hotel across the road! Also […] the bathroom was verging on being too small. Other than that a great stay! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Had to change room because of smell ,no tv operation, noise,...Charged New Years rate for 4 nights and not for only 3 nights as required.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great tourist location in Sydney"
We enjoyed the hotel, especially for it's prime location. We arrived in Australia via cruse, which docked two blocks away. We were within walking distance of many great sites including Darling Harbour. Within an easy walk to bus, train and ferry transportation. We did have a problem with the AC unit making noise (which was never resolved), other than […] that everything was fine. Overpriced maybe, but everything in Sydney is overpriced... "Great location in the heart of the city"
Great boutique hotel in the Rocks area close to the key city attractions. Small but adequate rooms in a charmingly renovated building. Stayed here for 7 days exploring Sydney. At arrival a bottle of wine waited for us in the room. There is an on-site bar/ lounge and a breakfast restaurant with good menu. The hotel offers pre-payment of breakfasts which […] gives you a lower price, but you have to commit in advance how many breakfasts you want. I typically like to eat at local places to get a better feeling of the local atmosphere. House keeping was excellent Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Surprisingly, this hotel does not have an elevator. It can thus be difficult to reach your room or the restaurant in the basement if you have a physical disability. The hotel staff, however, were very helpful in taking baggage to and from our room. The walls of our room were painted black. This made for a dismal ambiance, particularly since the lighting […] in the room was not strong. We expected better for the price. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Still rocks, only a little less!"
I had stayed here before and had a fantastic experience. I realise now, that that was because I had the handicap access room, to the back of the hotel, away from the traffic and noise of the main street. This time, I had a room that not only captured all of the traffic noise, but had every passerby literally walking past the room window with every opportunity […] to peer into the room. Moreover, it was the weekend, so I also had to endure drunken serenaders. The staff are as fantastic as ever, but anyone booking should ask for a room away from the street. "The Place to Stay in the Rocks"
The Hotel was modern and great. We stayed in the Heritage superior queen room and had a view of the Sydney Opera house. The stay was comfortable and worth the cost. The location was great. A quick walk from the ferry and train station and opera house. It was ultra convenient. If I am in Sydney again this is where I am going to stay. The staff was very […] helpful. There was a luggage elevator, but no human elevator so you need to walk up stairs to get to your room. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Very cool and well decorated. Excellent coffee and breakfast. Rooms were on the smaller side for the price, but comfortable. I wish hotels wouldn't charge for internet.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Great location in the heart of the Rocks. Booked Superior Heritage room but it was located on ground floor at street level and a lot of street noise at night prevented a good nights sleep. The en suite was the smallest I have ever come across; the staff informed me that due to the old building the original en suites could not be altered. For a superior room it was very small. Breakfast was ordered for our first morning; we arrived at 9.30 and there were no tables. When we were seated 10 minutes later we immediately ordered our cooked […] breakfast. "Stylish hotel in excellent location"
Great to walk into - historic building restored in interesting contemporary style. Efficient check-in and check-out. Fresh bright room with partial views of nearby Harbour Bridge and Opera House, comfortable firm bed and excellent shower. Great location behind Museum of Contemporary Art and close to public transport and sights. A good restaurant.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Nice room, hard to check in."
No complaints about the facilities. However, when I arrived to check in the hotel was locked up, no one answered the door and when I phoned the hotel nobody picked up the phone. If it wasn't for another guest who already had a key who came back and let me in, I would have been locked out.Genuine Expedia guest review
Stairs are a little bit of a negative and size of rooms are a little small however the location and staff make up for that.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Harbour Rocks Sydney last week"
V disappointing. I was charged a high rate. The room was pokey, right on the street. Without proper curtains. The bathroom was tiny - could hardly move in it. The TV had v few working channels - most came up with Foxtel messages to upgrade the TV subscription. I had been precharged when I had specified to pay on the day via Expedia.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great Location, Funky Design, Adequate Room"
The location and cool design of the hotel can't be faulted. It makes a great first impression and has a great look and feel. The room was nice but there was a very small bathroom with little space to put anything and the curtains/blinds didn't do a great job of blocking out the sun.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Great location, but bathroom required renovating. No lift for a 3 storey building and central stair area lovely and light thanks to roof skylight but very warm walking up to the 3rd floor. Fold out bed wasn't ready upon our arrival and we had to ask for additional towels for our children in the bed.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Historic hotel in key location"
Inconvenient for parking and baggage - have to use public carpark down the street underground with no in and our priviledges at the hotel rate of $40 per day, otherwise $90 per day if you go in and out - have to bring baggage by yourself from carpark to hotel and inside hotel there are levels of steps to get to rooms. Very helpful staff and good room […] cleaning. Bathroom was very clean. Security of double doors from room to outside patio was weak and needs improvement. "Harbour Rocks Hotel review - 7 Aug 13"
Check out was slow - they said they would e-mail my receipt but nothing received so far. Not having an elevator is a bit of a pain - due to planning/heritage restrictions. I got an upgrade which was nice but the TV did not work properly and the bathroom is very basic and looks old - only a shower. Only shades and no curtains - would have been a pain […] if one wanted to sleep in. When in the lobby, I heard someone call down to complain and ask for curtains! Should have been higher spec. Good location. Trying to punch above its weight and somewhat overpriced for what it is. It is meant to be a boutique hotel but is not finessed enough. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Response by Harbour Rocks Hotel Sydney - MGallery Collection Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience at Harbour Rocks Hotel. I am disappointed to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations. At Accor Hotels, we strive to provide a superior service experience for every customer; therefore your feedback is very important to us. Please rest assured that we are taking the appropriate measures to address the problem and prevent future occurrence. I am a little perplexed as to your comments regarding curtains. All of the rooms have sheer curtains with a roller blockout. I apologise that you did not notice these. We are currently training 3 new staff members on the front desk and I would like to apologise for the delay you experienced on check in. Hopefully they will be up and running in no time and this issue will not recur. I hope that you will accept our apology and allow us the opportunity to show you this level of service is not indicative of the usual high standard at our hotel. Regards Managment
"LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION!!"
As we have stayed at Harbour Rocks several times before, we again found the Reception Staff so welcoming and accommodating, their service rates 10/10 in our view. However, their menu for Breakfast in their Restaurant leaves much to be desired. Their presentation lacks a lot, bircher muesli - I would rate 1/10!! it was syrupy with very little fruit, […] and tasted yuk!!. Service to the room, again was exceptional, we requested a single bed and had it delivered to the room with 5 minutes with a gracious smile. Location - So handy to all forms of public transport and walks around the Rocks and Circular Quay area and the Rocks Market precinct - we will be back!! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Noisy Rooms situated next to bar and restaurant"
It was noisy as the room was directly adjacent the restaurant and bar. Be prepared for a late night sleep otherwise you have to deal with noise coming though the walls and the door. On the Saturday night it didn't stop until late in the wee hours.Genuine Expedia guest review

At Accor Hotels, we strive to provide a superior service experience for every customer; therefore your feedback is very important to us. Please rest assured that we are taking the appropriate measures to address the problem and prevent future occurrence. Unfortunately the Sydney Harbour Foreshore declined our request to double glaze the windows during the redevelopment, on heritage restrictions. I am aware, that in such a busy area, this is a serious issue and I have been in discussions with them in order to implement some kind of sound minimization works. They have been fairly sympathetic to our request, so hopefully a resolution should be shortly forthcoming. I apologize for the inconvenience this caused. Perfect short stay hotel, in the centre of Sydney close to most attractions. Beautifully renovated and presented it made a perfect base for our weekend break. The views from the room epitomised Sydney. The hotel was comfortable and opulent without being brash and 'over the top' I would definitely recommend to family and friends.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Great Style, Awesome Ammenities"
Style and location are the two top features of this hotel. It combines older architecture with a tasteful, modern aesthetic, creating a very comfortable and enjoyable stay. The bed was extremely comfortable and since I requested a quiet room away from the streets, I had some of the best sleep during my stay in Oz. The bathroom fixtures were terrific; […] the shower was instantly hot and the rain style shower head was excellent. I highly recommend you use the supplied shampoo as well. Another awesome feature is they do later room service, so if you head out late, you'll still come back to a made up room. Word of warning: there is no lift. There is a small utility lift for luggage only, so if you have trouble with stairs, either request a bottom floor room or look elsewhere. I found this to be a quaint, cool feature of the hotel, though, so I don't count it as a negative. The one negative is that there is no air conditioning in the hallways. As it was early May, it only reached mid 20's outside, but the hallway was already quite hot and humid. The air conditioning in the room worked great, though, so it didn't affect the comfort of the stay. Overall, I'd highly recommend to anyone staying in The Rocks area and will likely stay here again next time I'm down under. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Exceptional Service by Staff and Great facility."
Arriving at the hotel early and with my partner unwell and health deteriorating, they were extremely obliging and gave us use of all facilities hours before the designated time with an upgrade given at a very reasonable price. Later in the day staff were only too willing to assist with additional room service to us (even pointing us in the direction […] to get additional services from another facility). Restaurant service excellent. We can certainly recommend them to all 'as a friendly, helpful and courteous team' with great room facilities and so centrally located in 'The Rocks' area - naturally we will be going there again when next in Sydney.
