Bellagio The Strip

A short guide to The Strip

Glittering, larger-than-life gambling palaces dominate Las Vegas Boulevard South, better known as The Strip. Here, hotels are destinations unto themselves. Within a three-mile stretch, visitors can see the New York City skyline, the Eiffel Tower, an Egyptian pyramid, imperial Rome, a dancing fountain, and an exploding volcano. A monorail links several hotels and the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Very nice and big hotel and well situated. Room very comfortable. The water from the room es very expensive (US$8.oo) and the phone calls, they charge you US$10.00 per minute in the phone calls you made in the US. The theater is beautiful and the "O" show of Cirque du Soleil is wonderful. Don't miss the "Mystere" show of Cirque du Soleil, the David Copperfield magic show, and the Grand Canyon tour, they are great to see. Las Vegas is one big street, full of five star hotels with casinos and very nice and expensive stores. We had a lot of fun and a great time.

Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Oct 25, 2009

Overall we were satisfied with our room, except that the maid knocked loudly, and then proceeded to open our room after 10pm for "turn-down service". We were in bed asleep! We hadn't thought to put up the "Do Not Disturb" sign because we never imagined that the staff would still be turning down beds at that hour. The hotel needs to at least give guests the option of choosing an earlier or late service. Our toiletries were never replenished during our three night stay, except when we specifically asked for what we needed. Nor did we receive a newspaper except on specific request. For a hotel in this category, that shouldn't have to happen.

We stayed in the Penthouse Suite for two nights. The room was very clean and had great ammenities. We opted for the obstructed view of the lake (versus the back view) and was definitely worth it. Downfalls: expensive internet (although free in the lobby), room struggled to cool down in the afternoon, any extras were expensive, and the tap water turned yellow for a little while in the morning (became clear as we let it run). I would definitely stay here again.

After spending 3 nights at a cheaper hotel over the weekend, my wife and I went to The Bellagio to spend the rest of out week with some friends once they came into town. The difference was night and day over our previous hotel. My wife and I were happy with the service at of first hotel that I recommenced it in a review for it. Though after 3 days of a very smokey hotel it was great to be in a much better ventilated hotel. It might have been the assault on my senses but I could not even tell if anyone have even ever smoked in The Bellagio. It was a major improvement. Beyond that it had every luxury that you would come to expect from a "mega" hotel on the strip. I was super impressed with the pool. It also is just a very pretty place. I will admit we had some issues with check in and got a few "double standard" issues. I now know what to do next time but was I was sightly bit irked that some of this stuff was not told to me up front. The rooms were great. Every thing was modern and tasteful. In a odd observation both of us thought they carpet in the rooms had some extra padding in them. We both thought they were the softest floors we ever walked on. It also could have been from all the walking we did. That was the weird highlight for us. I will admit it was a bit more money then we like to spend. There is also no "budget" place to eat or shop at the hotel. Even the cafe was over priced in my opinion. It was the first place I stayed in Vegas that did not have a "budget" restaurant of some kind. Over all it a wonderful place. Just make sure you bring your wallet.

I have to say that after spending the first half of the holiday in The Luxor's pyramid suite we thought nothing could top that. The Bellagio was something else, our room was amazing and was situated near the middle with a lake viw that was stunning. The facilities were incredible and probaly the best sun loungers we have experienced at any hotel. The hotel is expensive but you are paying that little bit extra for class. Also it is positioned right in the middle of the strip so getting to the outlets and other hotels is handy and not too tireing. Defo worth paying that extra for the experience even if it's only for one night.

There is only one bellagio- sort of set the standard for higher end Vegas hotels. This makes a small problme- it's crowded because there's so much foot traffic through the place. You really can't go wrong. The original rooms- although a bit smaller are still adequate, numerous great restaurants to choose from, pool is very decent, really hard to find fault unless you are ublucky or very, very picky.
