Inside the hotel, it is fairly quiet, but right outside it is very noisy all night long with young yelling teens, two helicopters seemingly landing right on the building. (They didn't) Trucks, backing up sirens, passing cars echoed right into the sun rising. My room was on the second floor facing the street. (Do not take it: Room 200!) The curtain closed from the left side and right, but the middle section had no dark curtain, but only a thin white one. Neon lighting from close-by kept the room semi light, semi dark. The wireless internet connection was weak. I had to eventually go down to the lobby to use my lab top. And my pillows were hard. The bed was a full size, not a queen. Nice people there, but the hotel is rundown with need of improvements big time.

I was very pleased with my stay at this hotel. The front desk employees were very friendly and helpful. My room was much larger than I had anticipated and was clean. Good water pressure and plenty of hot water. A computer with internet access is available in the lobby. Breakfast was satisfactory but not a wide variety and little in the way of protein - milk/juice/coffee, a couple of cereal selections, bread/muffins/bagels, light yogurt, and boiled eggs (cold). The room is not individually climate controlled but my room was very comfortable. There was a coffee maker and mini fridge with 2 complementary waters in mine (also a variety of extra toiletries), a small but nice touch. It was on the front of the hotel on the sixth floor overlooking the street and you could hear some traffic noise and, more importantly, on the first night there were people yelling at each other very loudly on the street. However, I did not feel the noise was any louder than one would expect in a major city center and I had no problems falling asleep. The elevator is tiny and for claustrophobic types might be a bit much. I thought it was kind of neat, but getting in and out on the bottom floor is a little strange so I always entered/exited on the second floor. The hotel is is a great city center location near historic venues, shopping, good food, and night life.

This hotel is centrally located in the city and within walking distance to Independence Park, center city and even the Franklin Institute. It is an older hotel that was refurbished recently. Our room had two queen sized beds and extra room to move around. Our daily breakfast was very good. This hotel can be compared with smaller hotels you might find in Europe - quaint, with personality. Because of it's location, be aware that if you get the bigger room, it is located street side... and along with it comes the sounds/noises of the city.

Walking into the room, I was very impressed with the size and the cleanliness of it. I didn't expect it to have a 3+ star appearance since reviews I read from other people gave this hotel low ratings. Therefore, I was pleased initially on walking in. The few complaints I have are, first, the temperature of the room. I was staying with two other people and all three of us agreed that it was freezing in the hotel. We asked the front desk clerk if she could do something about it and she gave us a lackadaisical response. Nothing was done about that. The secondary complaint here is the attitude of the front desk employees. They were not very helpful or friendly-sounding when we called to ask questions or when we were trying to figure out how to use the elevator (which was very old and strange). They need to have more professionalism and patience with people. The last complaint is the water pressure. The water pressure in the shower was terrible. I think the faucet in the sink put out more water than the shower head. I'm not sure if this is due to the age of the hotel or something beyond their control, but it was my observation that this could probably be improved somehow. Aside from these things, if I were visiting the same area of town in Philadelphia, I'd probably stay at this hotel again if it were the same price or better.

Also, there's this great sushi restaurant next door and next to that is a delicious Indian restaurant. My friends and I could walk to shops, boutiques, restaurants, and lounges nearby. The hotel was in a great location, staff was very friendly. The hallways and stair way are very cramped. The room is very basic for the price which is ok for a one night stay. The bed was very uncomfortable and the bathroom had a hole in the wall where little insects crawled out from. They tried to cover up the hole with towels but it was very unsightly and failed to keep the bugs out as we were greeted by a huge centipede. Didn't bother to complain as we were only in the room for a few hours.

We had an excellent stay! Staff was friendly and check-in and -out was speedy and easy. Hotel gives a reduced rate for the parking garage across the street, so that was a great surprise! Everything was very clean, but small. Didn't bother us at all, but the hallways and stairways are narrow, the sink and shower are small, and the room is big enough for the bed, dresser, and desk, but not much else. Two of us were only staying one night, though, so it was exactly what we needed! Area is great. Easy walking distance to convention center, lots of food, and Independence Park. Hotel is non-smoking so absolutely no stink anywhere! The small elevator everyone talks about was out of service while we were there, but walking up stairs never hurt anyone so it wasn't a problem. Would absolutely stay here again!

The stairs were very narrow and unstable and made it more than an inconvenience, if I had not already paid I would have left and found something else. I have a feeling the elevator has been broken for a long time, because the stairs were very worn out and dirty. Also, the rooms have no A/C and really floppy mattresses. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

This hotel was great, the staff was real friendly and helpful. The room had no ac or ceiling fan at it was hot and humid outside so it was slightly uncomfortable at night, the open window provided some relief. My daughter plugged her cell phone charger into an outlet we later realized did not work; we were charged a refundable fifty dollar deposit for items in the rooms refrigerator only to find it had two small bottles of water and nothing else; there was a coffee maker in the room and when i was prepared I turned it on only to find that it was not plugged in and from the dresser it sat on it's plug could not reach the near the floor outlet. After carrying the coffee maker around the room seeking another outlet I finally put it on the floor and plugged it in. The hotel served it's purpose; I only needed somewhere to crash over night and for the price I was alright with that.
