Yes, you will see in other reviews, that the rooms are a little small and there is only one elevator, but honestly, for the price you get it at, the rooms are very nice and has everything you need in it for staying to sleep. So I was very happy with the hotel, the staff was extremely pleasant and informational. There was only one thing... I saw hair […] on the bathroom walls above the door, but it didn't ruin my stay. We are laid back people, so we laugh at the silly things then talk trash about what we are given. So I recommend this... the downside, is having to pay for the parking in the parking garage - which is the only place you can park, and you have to pay every time you leave the garage, but hey... "Nice hotel, good location."
Room was clean, but small. The hotel is in a good location for walking to South St, historic sites, and shopping areas.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Ok, but not great"
The shower did not work properly; was charged unannounced $2 / day + tax for a safe on my credit card -- for a one night stay ... not amused of course .. cannot recommend this place.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"The cozy Roadway"
My friends and I enjoyed our stay in this little hotel so much we wished we could stay more nights. Its location is prime, service people are nice and new rooms are awesome. Our room in particular had the coolest shower setup my girlfriend and I had ever seen, highly recommended. For a center city hotel at such an affordable price the roadway surpassed […] my expectations. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"It has what you need for 1~2 nights"
We had a visit to Thomas Jefferson Univ. for an interview. We stood a night and the room was clean with fairly new furniture. The only down side is that if you need a window and are claustrophobic, the room was a little small. Overall, we like the cleanness of the room and overall hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great downtown location with no frills"
Very satisfied. The hotel is a place to stay where you do not need any facilities except for a very clean comfortable room with free wifi, fridge and coffee maker. Visiting Philadelphia, the best $ deal for central location.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"A comfortable bed at a reasonable price"
Finding a reasonably priced hotel in central Philadelphia can be a challenge, but I found the Roadway Inn to be a nice alternative to the big, higher end, higher priced hotels, while being a comfortable walking distance to the Pennsylvania Convention Center and other central city destinations. It's an older property but recently remodeled. What it lacked […] as far as your typical hotel amenities (breakfast, room service, gym), it made up for with a comfortable bed, good in-room WiFi service, TV, refrigerator, microwave, and coffee. My room didn't have a thermostat, but I found the room was never too hot or too cold. Even with the grittiness that comes from being in the "inner city", there were a lot of people enjoying a number of good restaurants, bars, clubs, and shops near the hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. If all you need are basic accommodations at a fair price, I would definitely recommend Roadway Inn Philadelphia. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Nice place in the center of Philly"
The hotel is not big. But it's location is really great! Near the City hall, Kimmel center and lots of neat resteraunts. And it's not far from Reading market and China town as well. The room here is clean and full of light. Maybe a little bit noisy.Genuine Expedia guest review
Good location, clean room, the WiFi did not work!!!! You have to pay 12.5 $/ a day for parking !!! I had to wait for the reception lady to check me in !!! She just left the front desk and went out!!!Genuine Expedia guest review
Great location comfortable accommodations. Parking lot across the street with a great deal for hotel guests.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
liked the hotel very much stayed on the first floor thought it would be noisy but it wasn't also the room had no windows loved that I hate when the sun comes into the roomGenuine Expedia guest review

"good for what it is"
Stayed for one night and the only problem we had was that the room was a little hot. No thermostat to change the temperature. The staff was very nice and the room was very clean upon arrival. Is a small quaint place but for the cheap price it was great! Would definitely go back if I ever need to go back to philadelphia for a quick stay.Genuine Expedia guest review
The elevator is really small and I even doubt there will be some fat people may cannot get through the elevator door. The room itself is ok.Genuine Expedia guest review
"close to Jefferson Hospital wife in hospital"
No was to control the air conditioning. The bathroom sink has no overflow built into it so it gets air bound and water goes down very slow. the shower has no place to put the soap after one soaps up. and the dead bolt doesn't go ito the door jam This is for room 402.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"worst place ever"
The staff was terrible, the fridge did not work, the manager was rude and the area was in a terrible part of downtown. The ac was on too high and no way to turn it down.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel was situated in a very ideal location in Center City. The room was clean, spacious, and minimally yet nicely decorated. The hotel was shockingly nice considering the deal I paid for it. The only drawback is that there is a single elevator for all 7 floors.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Thin Walls, Basic Amenities, Good Location"
Good location downtown with a cheap (with hotel validation) parking garage across the street. Room was big, with fast internet. Walls, however, were paper thin. Could easily hear conversations and next door's TV. Good for listening in on other people, but not when you're trying to sleep! Hotel is just a lobby and rooms (no place for breakfast or to […] relax outside of your room), and no air conditioning. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Woudn't Pay Full Price"
I got a great deal on this, and it would not be worth a full payment to stay. The walls are thin, and the room was tiny. It had great decor, but the tv would not have working sound for some of the channels. The front desk lady was friendly and helpful, but she was the only staff member for the entire hotel so when I called she was not able to help me. […] Also, there is no food and drink on premise. "Inexpensive, No Frills, Nice"
It was a mid-day decision to stay overnight in the city. After a quick web search, the price and location of this hotel caught my attention so we figured we would give it a try. Everything is very clean. The bed and linens were very comfortable. The room, simple but nice. The shower is small as are most of the doorways but no big deal. Also some loose […] tiles on the bathroom floor but again, I wasn't expecting the 4 Seasons. For the price, conveniently centered location in the city, discounted parking price, cleanliness and comfort of the bed- I'd definitely stay again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great deal, great location"
My room was so small that the little table almost touched the bed even though they were on opposite walls. But everything was clean, comfortable and recently-renovated. The hotel is within easy walking distance of mass transit as well as lots of restaurants and cafes. Everything I wanted to see was at most a 30 minutes walk.Genuine Expedia guest review
Great!! The only downfall is that you have to park across the street in the garage.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not Very Comfortable"
Hotel is pretty small and very cumbersome. Rooms are not well ventilated and you donot have acess to tempeture control. Vents are situated right above the head of the bed so you have a draft over your face all night long. The room we stay in had some sort of vent above the entry door so the hall light shine straight into our room all through the night. […] And last in the morning hour when we try to shower midway the water shuts off completely we were left with soap and had to wash off with a little bit of cold water that was running from the bathroom sink, we contacted the hotel front desk and two hours later still no water but by then it was time to check out. When we reach the lobby we ask the attendant about the water and she said she "shut off the water by accident" very casually as if it was amusing.Dont think we will be staying here again. For the price, the room was comfortable with modern furnishings. Staff accomodated my request to check-in early. It included the convienence of a microwave, refridgerator and coffee maker. "Amazing Location, Great Renovation!"
Don't be alarmed when you see the front of this quaint little hotel. Rodeway Inn just not really make you feel warm and fuzzy, but then you walk into a brand new lobby and find the rooms all renovated with flat screen TV's, etc. The room was perfect, clean and quiet. Front desk woman was very nice and helped in every possible way she could. Dozen's […] of great local restaurants within a block or two, centrally located... I will stay here again. Loved the stay, the facility I was going to was within walking distance. The neighborhood was businesses. The hotel personnel were gracious and helpful, the room very clean and inviting. I believe there was renovation going on but it in no way impeded the staff to do their jobs nor the guests to get around. When asked the staff made restaurant recommendations. "Nice hotel close to the historic district of Phill"
Nice clean. On the downside staff didn't make effort to check us in earlier, so we had to browse the city for three hours before that.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great location, excellent choice for a weekend!!"
We stayed for a weekend, we got there actually a few hours before our check in so we asked if we could leave our luggage until then and they were very kind holding it so that way we had time to explore the city without our luggage. I liked our room, it had everything we needed and was very comfy, we felt like home. Definitely we will come back.Genuine Expedia guest review
Great location with numerous restaurants close by.No need for car with excellent public transportation. A good walk will get you anywhere. Little noisy in late evenings due to local pubs. Not for party poopers. Take the train from airport for $7 and get a good breakfast for $ 5 at Jessie's CafeGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Clean hotel but it could be better"
There's no thermostats in the room so any time you wan to have the temperature controlled you have to speak with the front desk. Also the staff could be friendlier.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Better than we expected"
I usually don't bother leaving reviews but really wanted to point out that this hotel was much nicer than we thought it was going to be. If I had to criticize anything it would be that the elevator was very small, as was the room itself - but clearly newly renovated. The room decor was crisp, clean, and modern. Only had a shower stall, but also very […] modern with dual shower heads, body jets, and digital temperature reading. Walnut Street has plenty of restaurants, and being in the heart of Center City means there is plenty to see and do. I would safely recommend this hotel and definitely stay there again. "noisy..could hear TV in other rooms/street noise"
I would not stay here again..very small rooms, too noisy inside and outGenuine Hotels.com guest review
I booked the Rodeway Inn for an overnight stay while I searched for an apartment in Center City, Philadelphia. While I liked the overall appearance of the hotel there were some things I did not like. Discussed below are both the pros and cons in a nutshell. The staff was courteous enough to hold my luggage while I went apartment hunting before and […] after I checked-in so that was great and a big help to me. The room was cleanly for the most part, except for the sheets. I do not think they were dirty but they were white with gray stains on them. Not a good look. The room was also freezing the entire night! I called the front desk several times and asked them to turn on the heat but they never did although they kept saying they would. Granted it was summer, but it was raining and chilly outside. When I woke up in the morning I was cranky because of how cold it was and did not want to leave the bed because of the coldness. I ended up leaving to go out into the rain because the room was so cold. I would not stay here again and certainly would not recommend it to anyone. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Convenient, clean & affordable"
The hotel was still under renovations when we stayed, and they were working in the lobby so it doesn't look so inviting at first. But on the bright side, there wasn't any loud construction or anything really in your way of going in and out the hotel. The staff could be friendlier bit they were helpful, and weren't rude in the least. The night time front […] desk guy did offer us pizza since he bought an entire pie. The room was clean and comfortable, and we were even upgraded to a king room because the shower in the smaller room wasnt giving us any cold water. They switched us right away without any hassle. But we were sad when we realized the king rooms didn't have all the cool jets in their showers. They're probably still working on renovating this. All in all, we had a pleasant stay. It was completely affordable (I'm sure that'll change after renovations), comfortable , and convenient. I would definitely recommend this hotel. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Holy Cow the Difference"
Ok so we called and told the lady we would be checking in very late which was fine. We finally got to the location of the hotel at 8:30. Though we couldn't find it because according to the lady at the desk the sign was being fixed. So after 15 minutes of walking up and down the street we finally found the little hovel. We got in and did all the check […] in stuff and was then told we are on the 7th floor. There is no elevator to the 7th also. So we took the elevator to the 6th and walked up the last flight of stairs in the cramped and dangerously steep steps. Got in our room and was pleasantly surprised. The room itself was beautiful. Couple marks on the bedsheets but nothing major. I opened the fridge to find food still in it from the last tenants. So we went to dinner and came back eventually my gf got in the shower to find no hot water at all. This is a huge minus as all we wanted the room for was the bed and to shower. I got in quickly got a shower in the cold water knowing the next morning I would pray for hot water as I always shower in the morning. Luckily in the morning I got about 15 minutes of hot water. Anyway the bed was comfy being it was a foam/tempurpedic/idk. For the price it wasn't the best and it was a longer walk than the site made it sound from the convention center. It was clean and cheap. Parking also cheap and across the street.Building is old and cheaply renovated. The bathroom vanity was cut out to fit the toilet tank in the bathroom. Location good and cannot beat the price. If barebones is ok with you, this is your placeGenuine Hotels.com guest review

I loved that the tv and the appliances were modern and not at all from the like 1990s. I also found the price reasonable and the location was perfectly in the middle of everything. All in all, a very nice hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location for a good price"
Right in the heart of Philly, walking distance to City Hall, Liberty Bell and Independence Center. Comfortable place, very nicely decorated.
