The patchwork of tiny, cobbled streets houses many bars, good restaurants and buzzing nightlife spots. There is also a treasure trove of medieval churches. In its own piazza, the beautiful Santa Maria in Trastevere has shimmering golden mosaics and was probably Rome’s first Christian basilica, founded in 222 AD.

Really unfriendly staff at check-in. We were given a room, but there were a few problems with the room. (Unclean bathroom, shower handle was broken, smoke detector was covered by plastic film, no fire escape instructions & air conditioning was leaking water in the room - the carpet was actually wet) We then asked for another room - and were given one.

Forget what people say about the outside of the hotel, it may look like a rundown building but whats underneath is what counts. As you walk in your presented with an art deco type entrance. The service area members spoke english which was great. Breakfast included is a must they really do supply you with good grub. The room oh there's a delight we found to have a hidden kitchen and sitting area.

We found this Hotel to be great! We found the staff very helpful, always willing to help us to plan our days and nights out! The Hotel is very modern and quirky with unusual modern touches. The room was very comfortable. It is in the Tratasvere region of Rome across the river, but is only 100 yards from bus/tram stop which enables you to easily get to any location in the city.

A good location as plenty of life in the beautiful squares nr the Hotel. Also a massive local street market on sunday morning. Taxi to any of the center locations was only 6-19 euros. Our only criticsm was the room was cold at night and the weekend desk staff were not freindly or useful when asked for a restaurant location.

Having read the description and seen the pictures posted of this hotel my wife and I had high hopes... Unfortunately we were sorely dissapointed when we arrived. While the lobby area is fairly modern it is also quite tired and read for a revamp. Our room was ready for a revamp 10 years ago, although it was large (with a kitchen and living area) the bedroom area was tiny, the bed very old and uncomfortable. The one redeeming feature of the hotel is the attached cafe/restaurant where we had a suprisingly good dinner.

Lovely place. We would recommend to others and stay here again. Myself and my girlfriend spent 3 nights here. We could walk to all shops, restaurants in 10mins or less or if we didnt want to buses and trams were 1min walk away from hotel. Great location (for some quiet and close enough to everything) at a good price.

This Hotel is good for a family on a budget. We were a family of 6, 3 adults 2 children and 1 infant and were able to stay in the same room. The room had 5 twin beds, and the bathroom was very clean but only had a shower no bath tub, the beds were standard, but the carpet was very dirty. No one wanted to walk on it barefoot. The Hotel staff was very helpful and the lobby was clean. Another down side to this Hotel is the location, which is located about 30 mins from the airport and about 10 mins from downtown, but easily accessible by bus. The neighborhood is not so great but not unsafe either. This is a budget Hotel and not what you would expect a four star to be. I reccommend this Hotel only to a family on a budget and does not expect high quality.

I must start this review by saying how much I was looking forward to staying in this hotel. I am well travelled and I thought it would be great to stay in the hotel with the edge. The hotel is not central and I knew it - so I can't fault it on that. However you would have difficulty recognising this hotel as it was hidden away from the view amongst other residential buildings in a run down area of Trastevere. The upgraded room I was given on 8th floor was very poorly maintained (the piece of plastering fell out in the bathroom, the walls were scratched). There is also a major construction going on right in front of the hotel which starts at 0700 am - nice wake up call for the guests. Reception staff in the hotel is rude (when I called to get direction to the airport the man just put me on hold in the middle of the conversation and transferred to another colleague just because he became busy). This is supposed to be a 4 start hotel

The hotel is difficult to find, embedded behind other buildings off the main street. The hotel isn't very close to tourist attractions. The neighborhood does not have an abundance of choices for restaurants. Hotel furnishings are an attempt to be trendy but appear to be quite cheap. The breakfast bar was more extensive than most. The room and bathroom is much larger than comparable hotels in this price range. The hotel is good for a short stay.

If you are traveling with someone that you are not sharing a bed with I wouldn't recommend this Hotel...the beds are super small...nothing like we have here in the US. I also wouldn't recommend a high floor unless you like riding in super small elevators that feel like your in a box (2 people max capacity with no luggage)...so I would recommend taking the stairs. Ps. try to avoid taking taxi's in the area they will rip you off and add crazy surcharges, stick to buses, the tram or the train.

In a sea of antiquity, Hotel Ripa is a hip oasis. Rooms are spacious and cool. The restaurant and Riparte Cafe feature chill music and art installations. The staff is friendly and helpful. Don't be concerned about staying out of the city center, either. The #8 tram gets you there in ten minutes and should you experience a taxi/train/bus strike, as we did, no worries. Take a short walk to the happening Testaccio neighborhood across the river and enjoy the MACRO contemporary art museum and the nightclubs. We totally enjoyed our stay at the Ripa and were sorry to leave.

I think they should show what the other room looks like also and not just advertise that one room. The whole reason I stayed there was for the room cause it looked so cool. Also if you plan to shop and see Historical this place is not really close to anything. But it is close to Nightlife if you are just going to party.

Visserligen använde vi aldrig köket men möjligheten fannstill kaffekok om man önskade det. Vi blev glatt överraskade när vi kom till frukosten. Allt vi hade önskat fanns där tom. champagne.
