Hamburger Hof Hotel - Frankfurt

Absolutely great experience at the Hamburger Hof Hotel in Frankfurt!! I took a cab for 32 Euros (yikes) so take the metro/train for 4.5 Euros and the station is right across the hotel, next to the police station. The staff were absolutely amazing! They ALL know your name! The bar is open 24/7! The rooms are small but every inch is planned and designed […] to maximize the space. Very modern, new, clean and cozy. Breakfast is included and it was pretty good. The neighborhood is very safe, literally the hotel is in front of the police station and the train station is next to it. There is no Wi-Fi Internet but there is a free Internet at the lobby/lounge 24/7. The only thing I'd recommend is not to stay in a smoking room even if you're a smoker since the smell of cigarettes is pretty intense on the smoking floor. The non-smoking floors do not smell of smoke at all. I took the train to the airport for 4.5 Euros and it is 3 or 4 stations away. You can also take the train downtown or anywhere you want. I just stayed over one night in transit. It's a typical clean German hotel with a great breakfast spread. Room was kind of small, but who cares? Location is good, right next to the main railroad station and a few blocks from downtown.

Couldn't have made a better choice. The hotel was right across from one side of the train station and police department. Street was very quiet and safe. I booked this hotel because of the price and the images of the rooms online. The rooms were actually better than the pictures! As a single traveler I often get small rooms in the back of hotels (at least in Europe) and this room, while small with a single bed, was on the interior courtyard and very light and quiet. The room was really comfortable and […] the bathroom was beautifully and efficiently designed and decorated. It was apartment decor, not hotel decor. The bathroom was larger than my bathroom at home and had a large stand-up shower nicely decorated in grey tile with a sliding glass enclosure. For the price I was worried that the shower would be enclosed in one of those very small plastic shower stalls but it wasn't. It was really great. Each morning I could smell the bacon cooking for the breakfast that was included with the room. The breakfast and the bacon were really good. The hotel is on the Post Office side of the train station, the tamer side, and the area is fine. It was nice to have the quick food options of the train station for snacks, drinks, etc.. The train station also has a subway stop and many buses and trams that stop there, so it is easy to go to all parts of Frankfurt. All in all it was a great deal and I would definitely stay there again the next time I'm in Frankfurt. Read more

We flew into Frankfurt Airport and took the train to Frankfurt for an overnight stay. The hotel is located right across the street from the Frankfurt main train station -- perfect for our needs. Our party of 4 had 2 rooms -- one that faced the street and one that was in the back of the hotel. The room at the front of the hotel was noisy and quite bright […] most of the night. I highly suggest asking for a room at the back of the hotel if you like to keep your window open at night like we do in the summer. The other room smelled a little of smoke even though it was a non-smoking room. Apparently, people take their smoking breaks in the back courtyard. The hotel and rooms were modern and clean. Extremely convenient to train station, which is where we arrived (via DeutscheBahn) and departed (S-Bahn to the airport). The area around the train station isn't the greatest, but it's only a 15 minute walk to the historic area of Frankfurt. Very clean and newly remodeled.

For the traveler who needs a hotel near the Frankfurt train station, this one is ideal. Located right across the street on the north (quieter) side, it provides a clean, safe environment at a very reasonable price. Staff was friendy,helpful, and spoke excellent English. Also has an excellent free breakfast buffet.

Everything was great. Checked in super early, around 8:45am, & didn't wait for a minute at the reception. They said they didn't have enough fans, since the hotel was not air conditioned. Location was extremely convenient. Next to the Train station, with trains & subway to everywhere else in Frankfurt. You can almost get anything you want from the station well into the night. Walking around was pretty safe, until 1 am (when I usually come back from a long day of walking & photo shooting.)
