My wife and I stayed here in April 2013. We booked and pre paid thru Hotels.com. Conformation from Hotels.com said "all fees & taxes paid" when checking out we were told we owed another $100 for city taxes. They then charged our credit our card for that. Still fighting that. Room cost over $200/night. There is no breakfast as there is in many European […] hotels. I asked if there was coffee in the lobby. Lady at the desk said."Only the sun is free" Thanks for the sarcasm, sweety. We got free in-room wifi only because we paid for an upgraded room.Standard rooms pay extra for that. We asked about using the public hotel computer. Were told there is a $5 charge for each use. The only one available for the public is directly infront of the check-in desk where you must stand with your left shoulder actually touching the desk. Our friends had a standard room they had to keep their clothes on the floor. No storage.We tried to follow the custom posted in this hotel as in others of hanging up your towels each day if you wanted to reuse them. Good idea. The staff ignored that convention and just replaced every towel every day. Read more

I enjoyed the hotel. It is conveniently located near many museums. The hotel is also near a Hop On Hop Off bus stop (#8) not far from a major Casino. Many streetcars and buses stop nearby and there are plenty of shops around the area. The building itself is beautiful and allowed me to sleep with the windows open. They offer coffee and tea, bars of soap, […] lotion, shampoo, and even a bathrobe with slippers. The breakfast costs $15 to $20 (Euro) and the bottled water costs $5, but there are plenty of places to dine outside of the hotel. A wonderful stay! Read more

This was our second stay at the Bilerberg Hotel. Unlike our first experience, the room they assigned to us on this occasion was very small. It was a corner room more suited for single occupation. Very limited closet space, very tiny bathroom, and although they furnished a desk and two chairs, no room to stretch out. I did not like the NO Free Internet and the charge for using the lobby computer and internet. You would think that would be free to get your plane flight information. No dinning room per say, more of a bar. Still I would say it is clean and a good hotel

I did the reservation thru unpublished rate, i thought that the reservation included breakfast and free wi fi as a 4 stars hotel, however when we arrived to hotel we were informed that the breakfast wasn't included and the wi fi was paid.

This is one of my favourite hotels in Amsterdam. It is quaint, and well located for the museum quarter of Amsterdam. Although it is not in the centre of town, it is easily accessible using the frequent tram service which passes the end of the road.

This is a lovely, modern hotel in a fantastic location- the museum district- beautiful buildings and tree-lined residential streets right around the corner from the Van Gogh museum but just a short 15 minute walk to the canal boats, restaurants, etc. It's on the opposite side of town from the Central Train station but the public tram is clean, modern […] and efficient- just hop on and pay your fare. Charming boutique hotel in great location, quiet, beautiful neighborhood. Next to Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh. Short walk to Old City and interesting non-tourist Amsterdam in other direction. I traveled by myself to Amsterdam and was a little uneasy about the experience at first. However, this hotel was so nice and comfortable that it felt right at home. It was very modern and upscale so felt more like you were a guest at someones house rather than in a hotel. There was no free breakfast which was a downside (and the breakfast that offered […] was outrageously expensive), but there is a cafe just up the street you can go to instead. Great location, just to the south of the hotel are all of the tourist areas. Make sure to get a map in English before going here if you only speak English. The hotel desk workers are fairly helpful but didn't give the best directions. Don't rely on them for a good map or advice, just bring a travel book. My husband and I just got back from a week in Amsterdam.I would recommend this hotel mainly because of the location. It is 1 block from van Gogh and Rijks museums and a few tram stops, yet the hotel is in a lovely residential neighborhood. The hotel staff was very friendly and attentive. The hotel was quite attractive and our room very comfortable ( although we did upgrade to a larger room ). We were close to major museums and some great restaurants. Fabulous shops (out of my price range ) were just 1 block away. The staff were friendly and helpful. It was a great experience!!!

There were just too many issues to go back or to recommend this hotel to others: 1) the air conditioning didn't work (and it happened to be very hot in Holland at the time), 2) the guest room key maker didn't work, so every time I wanted to get into my room I had to ask somebody at the front desk to open the door for me, 3) the room was ridiculously […] small. I had booked and paid for two nights, but I left after the first night, that is how unsatisfied I was with the hotel. Were were pleased with all aspects of this hotel. The staff was very helpful and provided info on local attractions, museum and tram tickets. This saved us not only time but money. The locatons was great, walking distance to museums, restaurants, shopping and trams. It's a pretty hotel, old world charm with modern amenities on a tree lined street. There […] was some loud street noise in the evening but it was quiet by 10 ish. We had breakfast each day. It was a bit expensive but very nice; buffet style with many choices. The little pancakes were my favorite. Be sure to ask for a discount for advance breakfast reservations. When it was time to leave they called a taxi for us with a predetermined rate for the airport. I chose this because of location near museums. Perfect neighborhood for that. Nice residential neighborhood, just a block or 2 from museums and canal boats. Room was ok, not great, small but tidy. Carpet seemed in need of more cleaning. Staff was helpful. Bathroom small, but that's what I chose for the price.

The location is outstanding in the Museumplein, away from the Red Light District et al, yet close enough to walk anywhere we wanted to go. If you are looking something away from the nightlife/ coffeehouse/ cheap restaurants, this is great! The only complaint was the airconditioning, which worked for three hours at a time and then shut off.
