"Good hotel, Great Location!!!"
Nice hotel in a very good location - less than 2 blocks from Van Gogh museum, shopping and eateries. Note... reservations are definitely needed for dinner in the evenings. Staff offered to make reservations but we didn't understand the importance. Take their advice! Cab from airport to hotel was 39 euros and well worth it. Would stay there again.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great location with ready access trams/buses"
Minutes to Van Gogh and Reich Museums. Minutes to public transportation to the rest of the city. Large grocery store, bakery and restaurants close by. The room was clean and one of the largest I have had in Europe. The only complaint I have was a 5 euro charge on the bill for the room bar which we never used and that I didn't catch at checkout. The […] public transportation from the central train station to the hotel ( Number 5 tram) was a snap and it was the only hotel we didn't cab to and from in four cities. If desires, you can take the bus from airport to a very short walk to hotel for about 4 euos. In Amsterdam, you can pay the drivers of the bus/tram cash for your ticket or get a 2 day pass. "Ideal location - museums, canal tours and shopping"
We arrived on a Rhine River cruise from Basel. A relatively short cab ride from the docks took us to the hotel. So many things we like to do in a city were close at hand. We stayed for three days and three nights and yet still felt like there was more to see. Perfect weather (late September) helped. The Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh museum are not to […] be missed. Although these two museums were almost next door, we enjoyed walking the central streets and crossing canal bridges to find other points of interest (e.g., the Anne Frank house) and restaurants. Do pay attention to the bikes and scooters... They have the right of way and it takes some getting used to. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Location, Room, and Price Match!"
Hotel is made up of five adjacent buildings joined into one property. Nicely remodeled with large bedrooms. Very quiet area of the city after-hours, so rest is easy here. A/C and heating work well, without noise to keep room temp as desired. Windows open to outside, a real treat given the clean air of Amsterdam. Hotel is within 100 yards of all mass […] transit options; use tram day passes as fasted and easiest way to move. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Lovely hotel close to museums and shopping."
The hotel's location is perfect. Museums, parks, public transportation, bakeries, shopping (including a supermarket so you don't have to pay 5 euros for a tiny bottle of water) are all in walking distance. "Wonderful hotel in central location"
Friendly staff, great location, quiet street, spacious room with nice view. Breakfast was good, €15 with and €19 without reservation. Taxi ride to airport is about €40.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Cozy hotel near museums"
The best thing about this hotel is the location. You can't beat it for being close to the Rijks and Van Gough museums. It is also very close to the trams that run to downtown and the central train station. The rooms are a bit small, but for two people they are okay. I think the carpet is getting worn; otherwise, the beds, bathrooms, and service were […] all great. I have to complain about the wifi offered though. It was very slow even though we had to pay 17 euros for it. That was a big disappointment as I could not share photos of my trip without a great wait. Besides that the staff was very helpful when we had problems and gave us a lot of advice on traveling around the city. You should ask them about tickets for the museums before you go. "the hotel is very close to everything, great value"
The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. The people at the front desk will help you with anything. The hotel is walking distance tot he two most popular art museums. I paid for the breakfast in advance and it was more than worth it. You can take the bus and train anywhere but I chose to walk. At night I went to the hotel bar and the bartender is […] a great guy. Even though it might of been a three or a four star the staff and accomidations were more like a five star. I would go back again no problem. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great for art lovers"
The hotel is comfortable, the staff is very helpful, but the location is its strongest feature. You are simply steps away from the Rijksmuseum, and a few more steps away from the Van Gogh Museum and the Concertgebouw. I found the breakfast, however, to be overpriced.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Lovely street, walk to museums and Concertgebouw"
The beautiful tree-lined street is lovely to come back to after a long day walking in the city. Spend a whole day at the Rijksmuseum (just reopened after a ten year renovation). You can return to the hotel and then extend your activities by walking to the Stedelijk Museum (open late on Thursday), the Van Gogh Museum (open late on Friday, with music […] and drinks), and a concert any other night at the Concertgebouw (buy tickets on-line well in advance before your trip). Pick up some freshly made sandwiches, fruit, baked goods at the Albert Heijn Supermarket right underneath the new sloping grass meadow/roof next to the Stedelijk. Take the Connexxion bus #197 to and from Schiphol Airport for about 4 euros and get off at the Hobbemastraat stop, 3 minutes from the hotel. This is also the tram stop for trams #2 and #5 which go to Centraal Station. Goede reis! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"A Charming Hotel in a Great Location in Amsterdam"
From our arrival to our departure, the staff was helpful and friendly. Though we arrived much earlier than the hotel's check-in time, the staff found us an immediately available room with the same amenities as the room we had booked (a spacious superior room that included free WiFi). And the staff helped us arrange transportation to the airport on our […] early-morning departure. In between, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this beautifully appointed hotel, including a delightful light supper in the outdoor garden portion of the hotel's bar-restaurant. And of course there is the hotel's superb location in Amsterdam's Museum District, just steps from the Museumplein, the Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh Museum and much more. "Well-placed for museums shopping and transport"
Kind friendly staff who went out of their way to be helpful. A quiet boutique-hotel ambiance with a very good bar and snacks service and a comfortable lounge. "Don't stay at this place"
My wife and I stayed here in April 2013. We booked and pre paid thru Hotels.com. Conformation from Hotels.com said "all fees & taxes paid" when checking out we were told we owed another $100 for city taxes. They then charged our credit our card for that. Still fighting that. Room cost over $200/night. There is no breakfast as there is in many European […] hotels. I asked if there was coffee in the lobby. Lady at the desk said."Only the sun is free" Thanks for the sarcasm, sweety. We got free in-room wifi only because we paid for an upgraded room.Standard rooms pay extra for that. We asked about using the public hotel computer. Were told there is a $5 charge for each use. The only one available for the public is directly infront of the check-in desk where you must stand with your left shoulder actually touching the desk. Our friends had a standard room they had to keep their clothes on the floor. No storage. We tried to follow the custom posted in this hotel as in others of hanging up your towels each day if you wanted to reuse them. Good idea. The staff ignored that convention and just replaced every towel every day. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great option on a budget in Museum Quarter"
Room was small but well laid out and had every convenience needed. Nice breakfast available in the morning as well.Genuine Expedia guest review
I enjoyed the hotel. It is conveniently located near many museums. The hotel is also near a Hop On Hop Off bus stop (#8) not far from a major Casino. Many streetcars and buses stop nearby and there are plenty of shops around the area. The building itself is beautiful and allowed me to sleep with the windows open. They offer coffee and tea, bars of soap, […] lotion, shampoo, and even a bathrobe with slippers. The breakfast costs $15 to $20 (Euro) and the bottled water costs $5, but there are plenty of places to dine outside of the hotel. A wonderful stay! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Was as was expected. Good location.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This was our second stay at the Bilerberg Hotel. Unlike our first experience, the room they assigned to us on this occasion was very small. It was a corner room more suited for single occupation. Very limited closet space, very tiny bathroom, and although they furnished a desk and two chairs, no room to stretch out. My wife did enjoy the windows on […] two walls, however, so we remained without complaint. I would suggest before accepting a double room at this hotel to check it out. "A very nice hotel great access to museums"
The hotel was very nice and located in a great neighborhood. Shopping and the museums were nearby. Internet access is extremely slow and needs to be improved.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I did not like the NO Free Internet and the charge for using the lobby computer and internet. You would think that would be free to get your plane flight information. No dinning room per say, more of a bar. Still I would say it is clean and a good hotelGenuine Hotels.com guest review
I did the reservation thru unpublished rate, i thought that the reservation included breakfast and free wi fi as a 4 stars hotel, however when we arrived to hotel we were informed that the breakfast wasn't included and the wi fi was paid.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Location was ok"
Except for the room everything else was ok. The room was really small and had a mini TV from 30 years ago and no were to put the bags. Not enough space to walk around the bed because the bags had to be on the floor next to bed.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"a refreshing change from the usual chain hotels"
This is one of my favourite hotels in Amsterdam. It is quaint, and well located for the museum quarter of Amsterdam. Although it is not in the centre of town, it is easily accessible using the frequent tram service which passes the end of the road.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Lovely Hotel in Great Location"
This is a lovely, modern hotel in a fantastic location- the museum district- beautiful buildings and tree-lined residential streets right around the corner from the Van Gogh museum but just a short 15 minute walk to the canal boats, restaurants, etc. It's on the opposite side of town from the Central Train station but the public tram is clean, modern […] and efficient- just hop on and pay your fare. The front desk is very helpful directing you to ethnic restaurants within walking distance or a local bakery where you can get coffee and a huge selection of goodies in the morning. Very classy. "Our stay at the Bilderberg"
We found this hotel absolutely brilliant. Stayed here for 2 nights while we explored and then went to see a concert, they did not mind us coming in late. Staff service was excellent, they would go out of their way to do anything for you and all members were very friendly and professional. Made it for breakfast one of the days and it was delicious. "A nice hotel in a great Amsterdam neighbourhood"
We are regular visitors to Amsterdam; we alowasy spend at least 6 days there and have been over more than 10 trips since 2006. So we are kind of picky about hotels and locations in and around Amsterdam. For this trip, to celebrate our 27th wedding anniversay, we chose the Bildeberg Jan Luyken because of its location and the fact it has only 60 odd rooms […] - we like small hotels. We are happy to report that from the moment we arrived at the hotel on a Tuesday and then checked out on the following Sunday, we were looked after very well. Our room was spacious, with a balcony/french doors overlooking the tree lined, quiet Jan Luykenstraat. The managment team had even left a bottle of wine and card for our anniversary. The whole customer facing team was fantastic, helpful and the hotel itself was spotless. If you like a smaller hotel with boutique style, in a lovely district of Amsterdam, we recommend the Bilderberg Jan Luyken. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Wife's Birthday Trip to Amsterdam"
Lovely traditional style hotel in a quiet, leafy part of Amsterdam with the Van Gogh Museumn and Reikmuseum within walking distance. Excellent transport links within walking distance and lots nice places to eat and people watch. The hotel staff very all very friendly and helpful.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very small room"
Our opinion of the hotel was very much coloured by the size of the room. This is quite the smallest hotel bedroom I think I have ever stayed in. It was very poorly designed, for example there were no drawers in which to put your clothes. There were a number of shelves but they were so narrow I had to fold over my ironed shirts in order to squeeze them […] in. To use the safe I had to kneel on the floor. There was no ventilation in the bathroom. On the positive side the bed was very comfortable (actually, too big for the size of the room). I would not recommend this hotel. "Very nice hotel, close to the museums."
The hotel was clean, comfortable and stylish. The staff were friendly, efficient and helpful. We didn't have breakfast as, at 19.50 euros we thought it was pricey. We had a very good brunch in town. The bed was extremely comfortable .Genuine Expedia guest review
Considering it's located just one block behind the Rijksmuseum this hotel is peacefully located in a nice residential street with tram stop just metres away at the top of the street. Nice room, very clean. The breakfast was extra but worth paying for, as it's plentiful and tasty, we paid nearly as much in a cafe for a very mediocre breakfast. You can […] purchase entrance tickets and tram passes at the hotel reception and the ladies on reception are full of handy tips as to where to eat locally and how to get around the city. It's worth getting a tram pass (48hr one is 12€) as you can see someone much more of the city. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
