Comfortable, quiet room in a great location. I would definitely stay here again.Genuine Expedia guest review
"the hotel is very close to everything, great value"
The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. The people at the front desk will help you with anything. The hotel is walking distance tot he two most popular art museums. I paid for the breakfast in advance and it was more than worth it. You can take the bus and train anywhere but I chose to walk. At night I went to the hotel bar and the bartender is […] a great guy. Even though it might of been a three or a four star the staff and accomidations were more like a five star. I would go back again no problem. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great for art lovers"
The hotel is comfortable, the staff is very helpful, but the location is its strongest feature. You are simply steps away from the Rijksmuseum, and a few more steps away from the Van Gogh Museum and the Concertgebouw. I found the breakfast, however, to be overpriced.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Lovely street, walk to museums and Concertgebouw"
The beautiful tree-lined street is lovely to come back to after a long day walking in the city. Spend a whole day at the Rijksmuseum (just reopened after a ten year renovation). You can return to the hotel and then extend your activities by walking to the Stedelijk Museum (open late on Thursday), the Van Gogh Museum (open late on Friday, with music […] and drinks), and a concert any other night at the Concertgebouw (buy tickets on-line well in advance before your trip). Pick up some freshly made sandwiches, fruit, baked goods at the Albert Heijn Supermarket right underneath the new sloping grass meadow/roof next to the Stedelijk. Take the Connexxion bus #197 to and from Schiphol Airport for about 4 euros and get off at the Hobbemastraat stop, 3 minutes from the hotel. This is also the tram stop for trams #2 and #5 which go to Centraal Station. Goede reis! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"A Charming Hotel in a Great Location in Amsterdam"
From our arrival to our departure, the staff was helpful and friendly. Though we arrived much earlier than the hotel's check-in time, the staff found us an immediately available room with the same amenities as the room we had booked (a spacious superior room that included free WiFi). And the staff helped us arrange transportation to the airport on our […] early-morning departure. In between, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this beautifully appointed hotel, including a delightful light supper in the outdoor garden portion of the hotel's bar-restaurant. And of course there is the hotel's superb location in Amsterdam's Museum District, just steps from the Museumplein, the Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh Museum and much more. "A Great Location for Seeing the Sights"
On a 4 day stay in Amsterdam we had a perfect location for access to all that Amsterdam has to offer.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Well-placed for museums shopping and transport"
Kind friendly staff who went out of their way to be helpful. A quiet boutique-hotel ambiance with a very good bar and snacks service and a comfortable lounge. Extremely clean bedroom, bathroom, breakfast room. The convenience for the museums was terrific and I would return to this hotel on another visit top Amsterdam. We would recommend the 'superior' […] room which we booked as it was comfortable and spacious. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Don't stay at this place"
My wife and I stayed here in April 2013. We booked and pre paid thru Hotels.com. Conformation from Hotels.com said "all fees & taxes paid" when checking out we were told we owed another $100 for city taxes. They then charged our credit our card for that. Still fighting that. Room cost over $200/night. There is no breakfast as there is in many European […] hotels. I asked if there was coffee in the lobby. Lady at the desk said."Only the sun is free" Thanks for the sarcasm, sweety. We got free in-room wifi only because we paid for an upgraded room.Standard rooms pay extra for that. We asked about using the public hotel computer. Were told there is a $5 charge for each use. The only one available for the public is directly infront of the check-in desk where you must stand with your left shoulder actually touching the desk. Our friends had a standard room they had to keep their clothes on the floor. No storage. We tried to follow the custom posted in this hotel as in others of hanging up your towels each day if you wanted to reuse them. Good idea. The staff ignored that convention and just replaced every towel every day. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great option on a budget in Museum Quarter"
Room was small but well laid out and had every convenience needed. Nice breakfast available in the morning as well.Genuine Expedia guest review
I enjoyed the hotel. It is conveniently located near many museums. The hotel is also near a Hop On Hop Off bus stop (#8) not far from a major Casino. Many streetcars and buses stop nearby and there are plenty of shops around the area. The building itself is beautiful and allowed me to sleep with the windows open. They offer coffee and tea, bars of soap, […] lotion, shampoo, and even a bathrobe with slippers. The breakfast costs $15 to $20 (Euro) and the bottled water costs $5, but there are plenty of places to dine outside of the hotel. A wonderful stay! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"wonderful hotel, great location, fine staff"
This hotel is absolutely wonderful. Lovely location, fine service and a terrific Dutch breakfast. The staff is very helpful.Genuine Expedia guest review
Was as was expected. Good location.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This was our second stay at the Bilerberg Hotel. Unlike our first experience, the room they assigned to us on this occasion was very small. It was a corner room more suited for single occupation. Very limited closet space, very tiny bathroom, and although they furnished a desk and two chairs, no room to stretch out. My wife did enjoy the windows on […] two walls, however, so we remained without complaint. I would suggest before accepting a double room at this hotel to check it out. "A very nice hotel great access to museums"
The hotel was very nice and located in a great neighborhood. Shopping and the museums were nearby. Internet access is extremely slow and needs to be improved.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I did not like the NO Free Internet and the charge for using the lobby computer and internet. You would think that would be free to get your plane flight information. No dinning room per say, more of a bar. Still I would say it is clean and a good hotelGenuine Hotels.com guest review
I did the reservation thru unpublished rate, i thought that the reservation included breakfast and free wi fi as a 4 stars hotel, however when we arrived to hotel we were informed that the breakfast wasn't included and the wi fi was paid.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Location was ok"
Except for the room everything else was ok. The room was really small and had a mini TV from 30 years ago and no were to put the bags. Not enough space to walk around the bed because the bags had to be on the floor next to bed.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Third time I've been there. Always a delightful experience. The staff is outstanding and the hotel is charming.Genuine Expedia guest review
"a refreshing change from the usual chain hotels"
This is one of my favourite hotels in Amsterdam. It is quaint, and well located for the museum quarter of Amsterdam. Although it is not in the centre of town, it is easily accessible using the frequent tram service which passes the end of the road.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"great location, the smallest room I have seen"
Extremely small room, small bed. The bathroom floor was the shower, tub, toilet. The location is excellent, close to museums and all interesting places.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Lovely Hotel in Great Location"
This is a lovely, modern hotel in a fantastic location- the museum district- beautiful buildings and tree-lined residential streets right around the corner from the Van Gogh museum but just a short 15 minute walk to the canal boats, restaurants, etc. It's on the opposite side of town from the Central Train station but the public tram is clean, modern […] and efficient- just hop on and pay your fare. The front desk is very helpful directing you to ethnic restaurants within walking distance or a local bakery where you can get coffee and a huge selection of goodies in the morning. Very classy. "Would gladly stay here again"
Charming boutique hotel in great location, quiet, beautiful neighborhood. Next to Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh. Short walk to Old City and interesting non-tourist Amsterdam in other direction. Room small but comfortable. Would have preferred plusher mattress and pillows. Staff terrific. Great breakfast buffet.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nothing bad to say."
We stayed for 5 nights. The hotel is ideally placed for a cultural trip -close to the Rijks, Van Gogh and Stediijk, and also for the centre, a very enjoyable 20 minutes walk. Quiet neighborhood. Decent restaurants within a 10 minute walk. Room was very clean and comfortable, the staff very helpful. Excellent breakfast with plenty of choice.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Wife's Birthday Trip to Amsterdam"
Lovely traditional style hotel in a quiet, leafy part of Amsterdam with the Van Gogh Museumn and Reikmuseum within walking distance. Excellent transport links within walking distance and lots nice places to eat and people watch. The hotel staff very all very friendly and helpful.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very small room"
Our opinion of the hotel was very much coloured by the size of the room. This is quite the smallest hotel bedroom I think I have ever stayed in. It was very poorly designed, for example there were no drawers in which to put your clothes. There were a number of shelves but they were so narrow I had to fold over my ironed shirts in order to squeeze them […] in. To use the safe I had to kneel on the floor. There was no ventilation in the bathroom. On the positive side the bed was very comfortable (actually, too big for the size of the room). I would not recommend this hotel. "Excellent location for sightseeing"
The hotel's situation could not have been better for visiting museums and nice eating places. A quiet neighbourhood with not much traffic noise. Very comfortable room with excellent bathroom. Helpful staff. Strongly recommended.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This hotel is in a good location to get to the sights of Amsterdam (including lots of the tram lines). We didn't have the breakfast because it was relatively expensive but staff pointed us to a nice bagel shop down the street.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Brilliant location, helpful staff"
Very Close to our favourite museums with easy tram access to nearby city centre and train station. Convenient for the bus from Schipol Airport. Helpful and friendly hotel with good rooms and good breakfast (with a good selection). Dated corridors and landings but other communal areas were comfortable and to the expected standard. The immediate area […] was relatively quite in the evenings but some good restaurants were within 5 minutes walk. Highly recommended for museums and high end shopping. "A short break in a great location and hotel"
A lovely well kept hotel which was excellant value for money. Very helpful staff who were always anxious to please.Location very close to the main attractions and museums. We had a fabulous time and made to feel very comfortable. We had booked a number of trips in advance through Expedia, but with a few problems. The round trip private airport transfer […] resulted in lack of communication as neither driver nor car was available to take us to the hotel. Taxi staff were not helpful and instaead we had to catch a bus!! Return trip by private car OK. We also booked an eveining dinner criuse but when we arrived for the event we were not booked in, but after some careful talk and the fact that the Blue Boat Co were not fully booked we were alloede to board. In spite of the above we enjoyed the break and would certainly return to the Bilderberg Hotel. A great city to visit ! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
We travelled as a family of 3 for a 4 day break, the bus from the airport stops just round the corner from the Hotel which was convenient as we didn't have too far to walk with luggage. Despite arriving early our room was ready for us. The hotel is in an ideal location, within walking distance of all the attractions or by tram/bus ride which can be […] picked up from the end of the road. The reception staff were very helpful, always willing to help and very informative. Our room was spacious, comfortable and clean, everything was replenished daily, despite having a third bed in the room there was still plenty of space. There was a varied choice for breakfast and the staff in the breakfast room were attentive and helpful. We hope to return to Amsterdam again and will definitely be booking the Bilderberg Hotel Jan Luyken when we do. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Enjoyed Amsterdam very much easy to get around we walked most of time just used canal bus and hired a bike. Recommend Museum Willet-Holthuysen on Herengracht beautiful 17th century house. "A central hotel with good facilities"
I was very pleased with the hotel in general. The staff were friendly and helpful. My single room was small but the bed was comfortable, the bathroom was modern and clean and it had everything that I needed. The position of the hotel, in the museum district, was ideal although there was a lot of noise outside the hotel from passers by on Friday and […] Saturday nights. The guests in the neighbouring room were also noisy after 7.00am. I did not eat breakfast in the hotel as I thought that it was rather expensive. Apart from these issues I liked it and I would certainly stay again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

We enjoyed our stay immensely. We had deliberately booked a hotel in the Museum Quarter because of what we wanted to see whilst we were in Amsterdam. Nice hotel in good location. Handy to museums and public transport.Genuine Expedia guest review
This is a mid-sized, modern, unpretentious hotel in a quiet street just minutes away from the main Amsterdam museums. The staff were friendly and helpful, and my room was excellently maintained on a daily basis. I can't comment on the food because I didn't have any meals at all in the hotel, preferring instead to eat in some of the various, though not […] abundant, local restaurants and cafes. "Great Hotel, Beautiful Surroundings but..."
we loved the hotel - it was clean, friendly and beautiful. It is a small hotel but with that said, it makes the stay more enoyable. The rooms wern't big but they were perfectly formed and if you're out and about all day then its the last thing to worry about. The hotel was very reasonably priced. The only downside was the location - I guess it depends […] on what you're after but we walked to the hotel from the train station which took us about 40 minutes - I guess that's largely down to the fact you have to walk over a fair few canals to get there but that made the walk all the more enjoyable. It would however be perfect for spending a lot of time in the museum quarter and it is nice to be away from the seedier part of town! In the evening we took a bike taxi to the hotel which was about 15 euros. Overall, its a great hotel and I would stay there again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Perfect for a discerning visitor"
Quiet location close to Rijksmuseum, van Gogh and Concertgebouw; just what we were looking for. The hotel is respectable and unpretentious and very well run within those parameters. It offers comfort but not luxury. Decent breakfast and a small bar but no restaurant. The staff are knowledgeable, always willing to help and, of course, speak excellent […] English. Other guests included American academics, French culture-tourists and Dutch business people. We would certainly choose the Bilderberg again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
