The room was cramped and one of the three of us had to sleep on a sofa bed for the three nights that we were there, the bedding for which we had to ask for. The place's walls and carpets have definitely seen better days (and several tourists) and the bathroom was the length of my legspan. Our trip to New York was excellent, provided you ignored our getting lost on the subway our first day and the hotel.

This hotel was a great find. The room was clean, the bed was huge, breakfast although not fancy allowed us to eat before we hit the tourist circuit and it was close to the subway. For New York it was also surprising quiet at night and as a bonus, we had a view of the Empire State Building. We will definitely stay here again!

Chelsea is a great NYC neighborhood and this is a good location close to subways and a very good selection of local restaurants and diners. The bed was huge, but it overpowered the room. Two people can't move freely. The breakfast was mainly starch and sugar but everything was clean. There's a very nice park nearby and Broadway South of 23rd St. has great shopping. I'd do it again if the price were right. The Landmark Wine shop on 23rd has a good selection of wine and premium sake.

Well I must say that I expected a hotel room that was small because of the reviews. Yes it was small but it was not that small. The room had a king bed and the fixtures were excellent! I'm 6'5 the only issues I had with the hotel was getting my luggage (3 bags) in and out of the small corridors. Heck its an old building but its well maintained and was just like any other comfort inns just on a miniature scale. Michael and his staff were nice and corteous! i'll stay there again especially since its right next to Jay-z's 40/40 club :)

The best feature of the hotel was the very comfortable King size bed. The room was very small but was very quiet with room darkening window coverings which made it very conducive to sleep. The room was also very CLEAN. The view from the window was awful(dark enclosed area with delapidated windows with trash hanging from them). The hallways were very narrow and claustrophobic and in need of renovation. The free breakfast was o.k. (lots of starchy sweet items) and two kinds of fruit (bananas and apples). The location was good for us as we could walk to our daughter's apartment from there. The location is also close to Union Square and other areas of interest. Good location-comfortable-clean-quiet room! I will stay there again.

Empire State Building.
