I must say I am very disappointed with this hotel. Definitely not a four star hotel even by European standards. Room was on first floor next to back door that has access to the dumpster which was consistently slammed from very early hours. I pointed this to the front desk person but we got nothing further than a: sorry. The bed mattress was very hard. […] The room was extremely small and the glass partition in the bathroom provided little privacy from the bathroom. Not a great way to start a romantic vacation. Arrived from overnight flight and Artus staff originally put me into a room on the ground floor by the elevator. I was a zombie but couldn't catch a nap with the noise of the elevator, so asked for a new room and the staff were great and put me upstairs in a much quieter location. The staff were friendly, spoke english well and were very helpful. Location in St. Germain is great, lots of nightlife around the hotel & within 10 minute walk. We are always a little skeptical when reading glowing reviews, however the Artus Hotel and more so, Sanjay their concierge, lived up to their reputations. The hotel is located in a wonderful section of St Germaine, with restaurants and shopping right there. The room was spacious by Paris standards, clean and modern. Sanjay is unlike any other concierge that we have encountered, in boutique hotels or large 5*. In advance of our trip, Sanjay recommended a restaurant which I booked directly on their website, and I asked him to reserve a restaurant that I had selected which could not be booked online. He made the effort to confirm both of those reservations and left us detailed map directions to each. Aside from being extraordinarily congenial, he called to make sure that we had not overslept the morning that we were leaving (as we had the day before). Overall a wonderful experience. Read more

Reviews we'd read of the Artus were virtually unanimous in their praise of the hotel and its staff, particularly Sanjay, the hotel's concierge. The buzz about Artus Hotel is 100% correct. My husband and I just came back from a week vacation and stayed at Artus. We chose the hotel for 2 reasons- location and Sanjay. I read all the comments about him and everyone of them is true. This is one of the many instances how great Sanjay is- we checked in Thursday which is his day off. We asked the concierge […] on duty if we can get reservations to Le Comptoir . When we got to our room the phone rang and it was Sanjay. They called him and told him about our request. He was able to get us a table the same night where it takes 2 months to get a reservation. Awesome!!! He was very helpful, he directed us to the right places we want to go. Hocine, the night concierge was also great. They made our stay easy and welcoming. Everybody greets you with a smile , they go out of their way to accomodate our requests and they all speak English. The location was great, all the bistros in our doorstep. Shops, Market and Metro are around the corner. It is a lively street . Eventhough it gets loud at night, we can't hear the noise in our room which is in the first floor at the back. We would definitely stay again and recommend this hotel to our family and friends. The Hotel Artus is located steps off of the fashionable Blvd St Germain on Rue de Buci, a street filled with lively cafes, restaurants and shops. The Metro (St. Germain de Pres) is very close. I have never felt compelled to leave a review before.....but this Hotel deserves the highest accreditation. The service was beyond wonderful; all of the receptionists and the concierge were polite, understanding, extremely helpful with recommendations, directions, and reservations for tickets and dinner. They were all multilingual and new all areas […] of Paris that we asked about. The rooms were that of a top class hotel ... Roomy, contemporary, and very clean. Three large windows in room with a veiw of our neighborhood. Bath rives and slippers for each guest; toiletries, a mini bar, free ice, power converters... The list of positives goes on and on!!! If I had to come up with a negative it would be the elevators. They fit only 2 people comfortably and maybe a suitcase; however our hotel turned that into a positive as they carried our luggage to and from our room and provided a wonderfully lit, winding staircase just outside our door. We did not try the breakfast as there is a small ship offering fresh fruits and croissants at the end of the block and numerous cafes around the corner. Read more

Absolutely loved Artus Hotel!!! The hotel staff was very responsive, even setting up reservations and printing maps to specific locations. The location can not be beat. It is walking distance to Notre Dame, The Louve, Musee D'Orsay and shopping and restaurants galore! I highly recommend this hotel for its central location, great staff and the rooms […] are wonderfully appointed. The only thing to note is that our room did not have a door into the bathroom, just into the toilet. There was a pull down screen that kind of covered the shower and vanity area. Another downside (which didn't bother us city folk) that may turn off some is the noise from Rue de Buci which gets a lot of truck and garbage truck traffic in the early morning. Read more

I think the nicest thing overall was the service. We went to the front desk for restaurant recommendations, and they nailed it every time. Their was one particular desk person that my wife couldn't stop raving about, but we forgot her name (she had blonde-ish hair) It's hard to put into words, but the hotel has a really good, bright, fresh vibe to it. This was a lovely boutique hotel - the rooms were spotlessly clean and the staff were really freindly and helpful (and spoke perfect English -helpful if your French isnt great!). This is a modern hotel in so far as decor is concerned so good for young couples. Very close to Saint Germain de Pres Metro stop which is on ligne 4 direct from Gare du Nord […] and the area is brilliant for beautiful boutique shops and restaurants as well as bars. Our room overlooked the front of the hotel but it was not noisy as there was excellent double glazing.
