Wyndham Lake Buena Vista Resort - Lake Buena Vista

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The location to Downtown Disney was fantastic. There was a shuttle every half-hour to the main monorail system at Magic Kingdom and from there you could get to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios. I have no complaints other than the front desk service could have been better.

It's an older hotel. If you're accustomed to staying at nice chains this one's rooms feel pretty nasty, but considering it was only $79 it's not bad.

The Wyndham is actually a hotel we've stayed at before. There is nothing special about it except for the location, right across from Downtown Disney. I'll definitely make sure that the extra fees that we were charged don't add up to a room at one of the Disney Resorts next time. Disney charges for the room and that is the end of it. Rooms were OK-average, clean. Low rates for the area. Doors open to outside. No balconies. Rooms were full of teenagers and young college age running all over, and noisy. This hotel was above our expectations. Parking was easy; the pools were beautiful; and the room was great. Nice view from rear-facing rooms. Everything functioned as expected. A/C was excellent; water pressure was excellent. (We were on the 5th floor.) There was a refrigerator in the room, and the room was clean. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The hotel is clean and in a great location. Right next to downtown Disney and within a block of restaurants. The staff was very friendly and extremely accommodating. They were very quick to accommodate our needs. Awesome pool and splash area for the kids, our daughter loved it. You really cant beat the price... period!!! They have a terrific heated pool, excellent restuarant and is just minutes walking to Downtown Disney!!!! Hotel is a little outdated, but it is such a deal!!! I cannot say enouh good things about this hotel.

The walls are paper thin so if you don't want anybody to know what you are doing you will have to be quiet. The housekeepers need to be retrained on how to clean a room. If your looking for a cheap hotel in Lake Buena Vista, this is it. The beds are dusty underneath but overall the hotel is good. The pools are good. Kids can eat with the Disney Characters on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The resort is walking distance, 5 minutes from Downtown Disney and offers buses to all the parks. The hotel states the check in is at 4:00 PM, but our room was not ready until 5:00 PM. On our second day the housekeepers forgot to clean our room. After complaining to the front desk it was taken care off . Overall the hotel is OK .

We really like the locations of the hotel, we stayed at this hotel about 5 years ago, it was call Sun Coast, I believe. We stayed in the Disney Tower last time, it was a very nice room. This time we stayed in the motel part of the hotel, it was clean, but it had a musty smell, which we finally got the smell from the room about the time it was to depart. […] The pool and the hotel part was great, clean and up to date, but the motel part really needs some upgrading. I would stay again, but I would probably stay in the hotel part of the resort, unless the motel part was updated by then. We are planning another trip next year and I would stay at this resort, it is close to everything, clean and the staff goes out of their way to be helpful. I did have an issue with the time shares in the lobby, I was sent to a lady to purchse my Disney tickets and she tried to discount my ticket purchase, but I had to attend a breakfast regarding a time share. I feel this is very tackie. After traveling all day the last thing your guest want is to be approched by time share individuals. Thanks. Read more

The hotel wasn't extravagant. It was just a decent hotel with the typical amenities. At first I was concerned that my room had two double beds, and I didn't realize how small they were. When I addressed my concern to the front desk my room was changed immediately to another room to better suit my needs. The second room was a handicap room and it wasn't […] the cleanest. Not really dirty but the corners of the room had hair and dust. It was fine though, considering that we wouldn't be in the room very long throughout our trip anyway. The best part about this hotel was the location: it's a 3 minute walk to downtown Disney. It really was all right there. Going to the Disney parks was really easy because they have busses that take you directly there for free. Also there were plenty if places to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner if we wanted to. So if you're not looking for luxury and you want a convenient place to stay while doing ither activities, where the staff is nice...this might be it. Read more

Had to call security for neighbors screaming at each other for over an hour at midnight. The security person knocked on their door and after being told that they were only "talking" left and the people were back to screaming before he took two steps away. Had to call security again a half hour later to shut them up. Needless to say the whole reason […] for a Hotel is to sleep and we didn't get any. They should stop paying their ineffective security people and use the savings to lower their rates. Read more

This was a family vacation (me, wife, 2 daughters both under 10 yo). When we arrived, the room was warm so I cranked the air up so it would be cooled off by the time we returned. When we returned later in the day, the room was still very hot. I called for it to be fixed. As I waited for the maintenance guy, we found more issues. The sliding door to […] the bathroom was broken, the enamel was peeling off of the tub, the fixture handle on the tub was broken, the cabinet door to the fridge was broken and the one that set us off was the when I went to unwrap a plastic cup to pour my girls a soda and it was full of mold and had toothpaste remnants on the bottom still. It had been used and rewrapped. DISGUSTING! So I called to complain and change rooms to be moved to the tower. The first lady I talked to stated there were no rooms available. So I asked to talk to a manager and low and behold, he magically found a room in the tower. Amazing how one just opened up in 1 minute! The manager was very gracious and apologetic and gave us a room with a great view. After packing everything back up, we moved to the new room. The room was much nicer and everything worked but it was still not very clean and it was very loud. Trust me, we are not hotel snobs, we just need a clean room to sleep, change and bath in. But the first room was disgusting and the whole experience was enough for my wife to state that she will never go back to that hotel. I would NOT recommend this hotel. Read more

I was a perfect location for Disney. They have a free shuttle to the park. The pool has a play are for the kids. We just walked across the street to Downtown Disney. The kids loved the Character Breakfast. You are at Disney with out all the busy stuff.

Really enjoyed my stay. The shuttle bus to the Disney parks was really convenient. I needed a room switch (from a king size bed to two doubles) upon check-in and the staff took care of it with no problem whatsoever. Highly recommend this hotel.

We were not in main building.. in one of the side buildings with outside access to our door. It could be noisy with other tourists and their passing by... yelling and playing. The stay was a 1 day transitional stay while our Condo was being cleaned. Everything was as advertised. Only issue we encountered is when we tried checking in prior to the 4 PM posted check in time. The first time we called at noon and we were told to call back in an hour. Called back in an hour and they said we must Pre Check in in person. Drove over […] and did the pre check in and by this time it was 2. According to the person at the check in nothing was available yet. Sat around for an hour and went back to check in and a different person said there were tons of rooms available and she immediately got us in. Felt like there were several inconsistent answers. I spent five days at this Hotel and only two elevators were working during that period. Cleaning services were done lately each day and the food was not good. Also, the time wasted in the resort presentation was not a good experience.
