It was clean and the people were really nice. The room was as described. The outside is dated and worn. Well worth the price. We stayed 2 nights and had no problems. The rooms were perfect for 2 people. Breakfast was simple but that's all we needed!!

The front desk staff was most gracious. When checking me in, it was discovered the type of room booked through Hotel.com was not available (Single Queen Bed, non-smoking) and my room was upgraded to a single King Bed, non-smoking room at no additional charge.

The guys at the front desk were great. Helped out with any problems and were very friendly. Rates were good, on line reservations were fine, other than it took a phone call to get my confirmation. On the negative side, housekeeping did not do much to freshen the room between our two night stay, e.g., no fresh towels, even though we put used ones on […] the floor, per instructions, no replenishment of coffee and sweetners/creamers, did not clean the sink or coffee pot. Also, we had problems with getting the room "keys" to work, the card-type. Had to have them redone a few times. we were on the bottom floor of two stories, and whoever occupied the above room was noisy, just walking back and forth multiple times, but certainly not the fault of the motel! The room was clean and quiet but it smelled stale and old. The carpet, although clean, was worn and needed to be replaced. We had to use febreze and a scented candle to freshen the room. Bed was comfortable but the pillows were lumpy--old, worn out. Breakfast +/- bare bones. Dont think we'll stay there again.

We just needed a place to lay our heads for a couple days while riding at Wolf Creek during the holidays. We love Durango, and the location was great. The beds weren't the most comfortable, and the walls were thin so a bit noisy. But for the price we paid, it worked for us! Would stay there again.

You get what you paid for. We only used the room for sleeping and did not spend much time there. Reservation said it had a microwave and fridge in the room but there was not. The room looked good at first view, and then after we showered we came out and found a small cockroach in the room by the door. The only reason I did not give all 5's was that the old condition of the carpet. Could use replacing. The bed was too firm for my needs but I would stay there again as it is a good value. The staff was helpful and the cleaning staff was top.

Walls / noise suppression very bad. Could hear TVs and conversations. Water pressure not stable. Would blow water out of sink in evening but would have low pressure in the morning. Hot breakfast was typical and kept well stocked. Room furnishings were Ok too.

Good deal for the price. It is older hotel in middle of town. All staff are very friendly. Free breakfast included muffins, pastry, fresh fruit, cereal and fresh waffles in a very nice lobby area. Not luxurious at all and towels were old but clean.

The hotel was reasonable for a lower end priced accomodation. It is in need of some general repair and maintenance. The room was clean except for a little mildew where the shower curtain rests against the tub. It is right next door to the Durango Brewery which is an awsome place for a great hand crafted beer.

As good as it gets for a "budget" hotel in Durango. Many of the lower priced places in this city are not listed or have been taken off the Expedia list for a good reason. This place is low on amenities but was at least clean and everything in the room worked.

My Family and I recently stayed at the Durango Travelodge for a quick-stop beginning with a 1:30am check-in and 8am checkout the next morning. The Hotel is obviously an old building and the staff does the best they can to make it look nice and it is clean. The main issue was the plumbing was very noisy when running the shower. At least the water was […] warm though. Continental breakfast was pretty much "par for the course" for hotels of this type and most everything was picked over by the time we arrived. There is a coffee shop though closeby so that was convenient. The only thing I am puzzled by with some of these old hotels though... When a toilet seat has peeling paint and finish on it, why not spend $10 and replace it? The past two older motels had peeling toilet seats which makes the whole bathroom look scarry. Stayed @ the Durango TL for 2 nights. Very happy with the accomodations and if you've ever tried to get a room in Durango during the summer, they run from the very high end [pricey] to the very low [shabby], with not a whole lot of choices in between. The TL is in the middle and I'm glad they're still around for those of us seeking comfortable, safe […] and clean rooms at a decent price. How else can I say this? This is a lousy, dirty, disappointing place to stay in the otherwise cool and quirky town of Durango. The room was shabby and dingy.. not overly filthy, but I had that distinct "not-so-fresh" feeling from the moment I walked into the room until I checked out. The big bad "no-no", though, was the housekeeping. After using a bathroom […] towel for showering, it was placed on the carpet next to the bed so that we could have a cleaner place to take our shoes off before getting into bed than stepping on the "carpet". The other bath towel was left on the bathroom floor. After returning to the room the next evening, we were shocked to find that both dirty towels had been hung back up on the towel rack with NO new/clean towels. The SAME FILTHY TOWELS were picked off the floor and hung back up as if we were expected to use them again. I took these dirty towels to the front desk to trade them in for clean, calmly explaining what had happened, and I received only a blank stare from the desk-agent. He told me they didn't have fresh towels and to come back in a couple of hours. Outrageous. At any rate, I know what to expect from a budget hotel experience.. and this was WAY below the threshold of acceptable. What a dump.
