Was a good place to spend the night, beds were very comfortable for my wife and myself. Stayed here because hotels are too expensive on the weekends in Galveston, wasn't very far at all from Galveston. Breakfast was a little more than the usual continental, had some microwavable breakfast sandwiches and pancake sausage sticks. Would stay here again for sure. Hotel was very close to interstate but not right beside it so noise level was very good, several eateries right around it also, as well as shopping centers.

Location is great. Room was OK. Nice TV, poor reception. Stayed 4 nites, had trouble with load adjoining tenants two of those nites. Management was unaware of one instance when it was going on in the parking lot for two hours...All in all it was Ok for what was a very good price.

It took forever for the desk clerk to check us in. There was a group before us and it took her close to 20 minutes to get them set up with room keys etc.... However, everyone was very nice. The rooms are pretty clean. This hotel is obviously dated. I guess they say that you get what you pay for. We decided to give it a shot after seeing some pretty […] decent reviews about the quality and value of the BeachComber. The motel was decent. The rooms were pretty clean, although definitely a 2 star property. Staff was nice. Walking distance to the beach (although not the part of the beach you would probably go to). All in all, I would stay there again.

The first nite we stayed could not sleep-due to too much traffic in and out in the next room cus they would slam door so hard it would vibrate the head board . and the fighting and yelling on and off, it was very uncomfortable. Did not feel safe.

I totally enjoyed the stay at the property. Very clean and wonderful front desk staff. Very good Continental breakfast. Beds are full size in a double room so be prepared. It is not that unusual on Galveston Island. The property is in good shape and you can tell the owners have done upgrades in room. It is a bargain I strongly recommend.

The staff were very helpful and friendly, but our "nonsmoking" room smelled horrible, there was a white crusty stain on the duvet, I found a beetle in the bathroom, and the walls were so thin that people on the landing kept me up all night. Location is pretty good, right by the seawall. I guess you get what you pay for.

The staff was extremely friendly and helpful upon check in. The room and bathroom were very clean, and we were very comfortable. Breakfast was a little disappointing because we were hoping for eggs or some kind of hot food, but there was a nice layout of breads, cereal, and pastries. We would definitely stay here again!

We only stayed one night..... thank goodness! We didn't have hot water in our shower. The front desk clerk came to the room and realized the water wasn't getting hot in the shower (even though it was getting hot in the sink) and he said that he would note the account but to wait a little bit since he just had a lot of guests check in. We waited and […] waited and the water never got hot. It never got hot the next day either. When we were checkin out, the lady said it was not noted the night before and she acted like she didn't really care at all. It was terrible customer service. The bathroom wasn't cleaned and the bed had boards that were sticking out from under it. We also tried to book online at $75 but called before to make sure we couldn't get a better deal directly and right after we called, the hotels.com website bumped up to the price of $89 which is what the hotel had quoted us. WILL NOT GO BACK. Read more

This is a great hotel for the price and the location is the greatest. It is one block from the beach, a Waffle House right next door and lots of places to eat and shop close by. The staff is friendly and helpful. I recommend this hotel and I will stay here again.

Room was cleaned and staff was courteous. Minutes away from the Sea Wall blvd and beach. Close to many restaurants which was very convenient. Overall I was happy with the deal.

The hotel was in a great location and very clean only thing the mattress was to hard it hurt me and my husband's back so bad we really couldn't sleep.

Room was clean. Staff was courteous. My only complaint is: It was Dec. 29, and, on probably one of the very few nights the room heater in Galveston was needed, it was not working well.

Better than I expected for a motel. Room had been refurbished. Because we didn't want to walk up stairs we were given a disabled room on first floor. Spacious shower/bathroom #107 Staff helpful, told us where to purchase wine, late night, so we could take on board with us. Good choice for breakfast with small but adequate area to eat.

We were very surprised when we walked in! It was huge had a safe, flat screen tv, microwave, and refrigerator. Enough pillows to satisfy anyone. The customer service was great and friendly! Will be going back there for sure and would recommend it to any one! It was well worth the price!

Close to beach, a great place to stay prior to cruising - they look after your vehicle for FREE until you return, and I don't hafve to pay over $80 for pier-side parking. Room was clean hotel just going through a remodel and up-date. Fridge, microwave and safe in room.

We got in late Friday night and were promptly checked in receiving a bottom room as requested. Room was clean, older but clean. Came with coffee maker, microwave and fridge. TV worked. Saturday breakfast was ready on time. Person in charge gave me a box so I could take breakfast back to room. Danish, muffins, oatmeal, bagels, toast, fresh fruit, 3 kinds […] of juice, coffee, flavored creamers. Very nice spread. WE DROVE TO GALVESTON FROM SOUTHERN ILLINOIS IN A CONVOY OF 4 VEHICLES. WE WERE ABLE TO LEAVE OUR CARS AT THE HOTEL WHILE ON OUR CRUISE WITH NO FEE. IT ONLY COST US $8.00 PER COUPLE (INCLUDING LUGGAGE) FOR THE CAB RIDE TO THE PIER. WE WERE ONLY 1 BLOCK FROM THE BEACH AND THERE WERE MANY RESTURANTS IN WALKING DISTANCE.

The carpet around the edges of the room and doors didn't look like it had been vaccumed in a long time. There were also bottle or can rings on the nightstand from the last person who stayed in the room. It looked like the housekeeper had just moved the phone to cover up the rings instead of cleaning. They were sticky. When I see that kind of dirt, which […] is so easily cleaned, I have to wonder if the bathroom was cleaned properly or they actually put clean sheets on the bed.
