I have stayed at this hotel a few times. The location is great for a vacation due to the proximity of the beach, the shops and the restaurants. The valet service is polite and friendly, could be a tad overpriced. The upkeep of the hotel has a little bit to be desired. This time when I arrived there was a pretty noticable unpleasant odor on the 8th floor. A day or two later it eventually wnet away or wasn't as noticable. Also, the last time I was here the room was in tip top shape, robes in the bathroom and lots of coat hangers in the closet. I thought things were getting better. This time I was in the same room and it looked like it had been robbed, no robes only two coat hangers, dishes missing, etc. Overall, the loaction and I get a good nights sleep and that is all I want. However those who are looking for more may want to look elsewhere.

Had a lovely stay at this hotel. The beach was a short walk away and beside the pool a water taxi passed by on a regular basis (which cost 13 dollar a day but you could get on and off as often as you liked on the same day). The staff were lovely and helpful in particular the guys outside doing the valet parking. It was a nice suprise to find the Galleria Mall beside us and we shopped there during the thunder storms! The only down point was having to pay 21dollars a day for parking in the hotel!

out of value="5""poor smell and bad elevators"
Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Jun 24, 2009
I have stayed at this hotel before and had a satisfied experience, so I decided to stay there again for a second time. I had a different experience the second time. First, I had booked a ONE bed queen/standard room and when i checked in, they put me in a room with two beds. I told them "i am staying by myself, what would I need two beds for? and i never asked for two beds" then they said "well we dont have any other rooms available and its a bigger room" this was not true. the room was DEFINITELY not bigger than the room I stayed in the first time that had a one bed. Then, as i took my room key and tried to take the elevators, i noticed that the three elevators they had were NOT moving down. There was a problem with their elevators. Of course, I just checked in so they tried to make it sound like it was a temporary problem, but no. The elevator problem lasted the whole three nights i had stayed there. Plus, the room they put me in (the room with an extra bed i did not ask for) had been right in front of the elevators..which was annoying. And by the second day, my room key did not work, so i had to take a very slow elevator back down to the lobby where there were also three people complaining of the same "room key not working" issue. So too many issues at this hotel, parking is really expensive here and unnecessary when you have the galleria mall parking lot right next door, the room i had also had a funny musty, old stale smoke smell to it, the doors dont close well unless you physically turn the handle latch. The only thing I enjoyed during my second time staying at this hotel was the chocolate chip cookie.

This is a very nice hotel for the money. However, they charge you for everything so be careful. Hotels.com did not have information pertaining to additional fees such as, required charges for parking and the money they hold on your credit card, for "just in case" charges. After checking out and being billed for additional charges, I have noticed that they have deducted too much money. Now I must deal with the hassle of trying to get my money back.

It's right next door to Galleria mall so there are plenty of shops and food/bar options. There's even a great spa just a block away. I felt very comfortable. The room had a separate kitchen and sitting area which made for a convenient and comfortable stay. My only complaint was the cost for parking - ouch!

We arrived early morning after getting off a cruise ship. Our room was not ready but they did hold our luggage while we took the water taxi around. Checked back at 2:30 and room still was not ready. Waited until 3PM and went up to our room. Coffee maker in room, but no coffee, asked the front desk for coffee, and said they could give us coffee at the snack shop. Does not do us good when the snack shop is not open early morning, as we had to catch a plane at 6am. Bedroom was nice, sofa in living room was not comftable, nice flat screen tv mounted on wall. No bath tub, just shower. Hotel needs updated, but you get a nice room for the price. Dishes were left in the dishwasher and not put back in the cupboards. Soap scum on bath room counter tops.

Room was awesome with balcony overlooking the inter-costal, full kitchen, king bed, flat screen tv on the wall, great food. Easy 9 minute walk to the ocean/beach. We only stayed one night but wish we had gotten there earlier to enjoy it more. They upgraided us to a waterfront room which was nice. We woke up to Three manatees swiming down the canal. It was a big one with what looked like two babies so that was really neat. The hotel was close to all that we wanted to do and see so the location was good for us. My only problem with the place was that there was some unfixed water damage in the bathroom. I was worried about mold, but we didn't have any problems breathing so I don't think there was any. Other than that, it was great. We will stay there again.
