Days Inn University Downtown

The hotel was a little noisy, but that is to be expected because of their proximity to the highway.The drains in tub were very slow and the bed too soft for my personal preference. The staff is what makes this hotel. Everyone on the front desk was helpful, corteous and friendly.The location made it easy to get everywhere i needed to be.

The hotel is nice enough, centrally located, but right next to a noisy freeway. If you are a light sleeper you may be bothered by the continuous stream of big trucks all night long. I wouldn't want to stay here on vacation but it was fine for a lower-cost 1 night trip.

Went to undergrad at UT so very familiar with Austin. This is, to be sure, NOT the best hotel in the city, but it is conveniently located to North Campus and even downtown, and is very affordable. Clean room and helpful, friendly staff. Right next to freeway, but not really a distraction. Continental breakfast was good: fruit, beverage choices, yogurt, cereal, pastries.Only downside was very loud fan in bathroom.

Outside needs some care and touch up. Room was clean and decently remodeled and updated. It was very nice being close to downtown but it is right next to I-35 which was not always bad. For the price it was a great place to stay. Overall a 3 1/2 stars.

VERY close to the interstate. Too noisy to sit round the tiny pool. Staff not particularly welcoming or helpful. Hole in bedcover but otherwise adequate room. Breakfast very basic. Would not stay there again.

Pretty much a good stay. All the Ice machines were broken, a double bad for summertime guest, otherwise, ok, would book again, but bring my own ice. Didn't try the 24 resturant next store, but it is convient.

We stayed because our son participated in USA football Team USA 17-U. It was great stay for the price. The noise was heard through the night but we knew that before booking. We have stayed there before. The restaurant was close and convenient.

GREAT location - you're in the city and everything is near. It is worth the relatively cheap money it costs. It is clean and conveniently close to the center of Austin on the main highway. Breakfast is minimal, but adequate, including bananas and apples. Quiet room, even though it faced the I-35. Strong (and noisy) A/C. The TV had zillions of channels, a few HD, but many a bit fuzzy.

My recent stay at Days Inn Univ. D.T. was perfect for what I needed for my recent business in Austin.. especially at the great price on Hotels.com. The staff was excellent and very accomodating. The location was perfect.. although a bit noisy being right "under" the freeway.. not so noisy that resting was a problem. The room was clean but a bit tight […] for 2 double beds. It is budget hotel, no doubt about it, but very clean, conveniently close to the University of Texas, with a bus stop just there at the front. The free breakfast is not fancy, of course, but quite good and frankly a nice thing to start the day (take a couple of apples and bananas with you for a mid-morning snack). The biggest drawback is that there's little choice for food around the hotel. You can walk or take the bus (a 3-minute ride--I didn't have a car) to the Fiesta supermarket and get excellent Mexican take out, but it's a little far and it doesn't feel super safe walking back from there after dark (though I didn't experience or heard of anything bad happening in the area during my stay). Hotel rooms were clean and fairly updated. Entrance to the rooms are from the outside and not from a hallway. Hotel is located very close to I-35 and there was construction going on all night on the interstate. It was noisy.

The place was so so. Room was comfortable but not worth the nightly rate. The 2 armchairs had heavy soil stains and the coffee pot was dirty so we didn't use it. Definately wouldn't make this place my first choice again.

It was not fancy, the furniture was shabby and crowded in, but the beds were comfortable, the bathroom and sink area were clean, and the price was low. There was an okay restaurant about eight blocks away, called Hornito's.

It was the only thing available in proximity to downtown for SXSW. I want expecting much, and was neither surprised or disappointed with my stay. The walls are paper thin but everything was pretty clean and comfortable. I would recommend it only as a place to sleep. Nothing more, nothing less.
