Other than being very hard to find the hotel was extremely comfortable. The bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept on. The only complaint I have is that the tv channel selection was less than good, no USA, food or A@E. Good decent hotel. Best thing about it was its convenient location by the Dutch Village. A little tricky to find. "Comfortable, clean, quiet. Bad for telecommuting."
A lovely hotel hidden away from traffic, but conveniently near shopping. Didn't have the breakfast so can't comment. The bathroom is clean, towels are plentiful, if not the softest I've had. Now the downsides: TV: a) there was no listing for what channel numbers were which networks. Just a listing of HBO movies. b) A number of channels programmed into […] the TV were just noise. no USA network, couldn't find the local FOX affiliate (multiple channels were mislabeled on the screen when changing channels). WiFi Internet: a) Slow. 3G on my phone can be faster (and I'm on AT&T...), albeit it was reliable. b) High latency. 500msec typical. 1500msec happened too. I called the front desk, explained our intention, reserved the room for another day, then informed them that the room had not been serviced, and they said they'd take care of it. They did not. It is such a nice hotel in a great location but the carpets in the hall and esp in our room was dirty and needs replacing. Also the lovely breakfast room has too big tables so it is hard to get around and the chair upholstery needs cleaning. This was my first pet only room to stay in, My dog could tell other pets had been in the room. I could not tell any pet had been there. We were located away from the lobby right by a exit door to the parking area. Loved the look of the place. Great whirlpool room. Good price. Indoor pool was nice but could stand to be heated in the off season. There was no elevator to the 2nd floor which was not information made readily available. The room was outdated. The air conditioner had 2 settings: high (freezing) or off (broken). "Great hotel for a family"
This hotel was fabulous! This was our third visit to Holland and our first time at the Country Inn. We figured at 2.5 stars that we might not be getting the "best" hotel. We were pleasantly suprised though! The beds were very comfortable with pillow top mattresses, clean carpets, updated lobby and very large breakfast room (which was like a banquet […] room where we could eat our own meals too.) The pool was warm and a fun activity for the kids when we weren't at the beach. The staff was so friendly and responsive to our needs! We also enjoyed the fresh-baked cookies, hot cocoa, and coffee always available in the lobby! Breakfast was filling with so many options from cheese and fruit to oatmeal, cold cereal, pancakes, waffles, bagels, and muffins! Everything was great and we'd stay again if we get the opportunity! Might be because this can be a touristy type area, but this does not qualify to me as a 2.5 star hotel. The carpets are stained, the bed was broken, the place smelled damp, broken tiles in bathroom, peeling wallpaper, uncomfortable desk chair...blah. There was mold in our bathroom and the bathroom door still had finger prints from the previous guests. There was vomit or coffee on the was near the trash can(gross!). We arrived late on a 95 degree day, and the air had not been turned on in the room. It took well into the night for the room to reach a comfortable temperature. The hotel was hard to find because the streets were not well lit, and entrance was not marked well. Otherwise, accomadations were ok. Four couples in our group stayed here for four nights during the 2012 Tulip ("stem") Festival. Rooms were clean and comfortable with wonderful beds. It is under new management and in final preparations for major refurbishing. This is reportedly the oldest and original Country Inn. Got a big shock when a dirty sofa with few big holes in the cushion covers glared at me as soon as I enter the room. Guess someone dumped it roadside and these guys picked it up.
