The lobby, restaurant and downstairs was closed for repairs. The floors were being sanded and stained so very strong fumes. On site restaurant was closed. Would have liked to have known this propr to booking and at least been give a discounted rate for the overall conditions.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location. Not ready for guests in May."
The hotel was under significant renovation during our stay which was not disclosed before we booked. The attached restaurant was closed as well as the lobby. The staff was very nice and the location is excellent. Otherwise, I thought the hotel was mediocre and I assume that during the high season people go there for the location and not the hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review
Went on a bicycling trip. The hotel is quite clean and tidy. Support staff is very courteous and helpful. Will definitely stay here again.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Going to get the updating that it desperately need"
Great location and a wonderful staff. Very nice inn keeper. Very helpful, patient and very accommodating.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Early Spring Getaway"
The Kelley House is clean and comfortable. The coffee served in the morning in the common room was delicious but the same banana muffins each day were not at all appealing, the cookies were all gone by 8pm when advertised as cookies from 7-9pm. The one really annoying aspect of our weekend was that our room was finally cleaned and fresh towels provided […] after we went looking for housekeeping at 5pm!! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Very nice hotel -great location for stay in April during school vacation week. The staff was very helpful and the muffins in the morning and cookies in the evening were great.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great stay !"
Great location, close to bus stop, right next to the water, shops and restaurants. The room was very large and the bed was incredibly comfortable.Genuine Expedia guest review
Love the history of the building. Location was great!! Friendly staff and loved cookies and milk! Hotel is noisy and many guests were quite loud! Coffee machines in room didn't work well! Food at News Cafe was not good!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We stayed in the off season when prices were very low. That said, despite most stores being closed, our location was still pretty good. It's right next to all of those cute little shops, again - 90% of which were closed for the off season. It was also right next to the Chappy Ferry. The customer service was impeccable and we loved the complementary […] cookies and milk at 7PM and the complementary coffee and muffins at 7AM. Well played Kelley House, Well played. "Heat Or Air (No in between)"
The free coffee & muffins in the morning were a wonderful way to start the day. With April's temperatures, the lack of having either air or heat controlled by the hotel not by the room meant a warmer than usual hotel room. With a room on the third floor the heat rising didn't help. Friday night leaving the windows open to get some cooler air helped. […] But on Saturday night the noise from the parking lot below until 2 am and the warm room made for poor sleeping and really rough on a person with an early ferry time and 10 hour drive the next day. Regarding cleanliness, found last guest's half used shampoo bottle in the bath tub and discovered some other "trash" items in the room under bed and in two drawers. "Full of charm and hospitality."
I had an extremely pleasant stay at the Kelley House. I would stay again in a heartbeat! The staff were pleasant, friendly and very gracious. The accommodations were excellent. My only wish is that there was a mini microwave in the room. The location is right in downtown Egartown and a short walking distance to shops, library, wharf, beach and lighthouse. "nice historic hotel downtown edgartown"
A red brick path behind the white picket fence leads to the front door and upon opening it , is a large open great room with an inviting fireplace and check in on your left. A staircase is on the right leading to the second floor with an overlook into the check in. Beautiful dark wood wide plank flooring is throughout this historic Captain's home. The […] back has an outdoor pool and picnic area where there is a gate to Dock Street and the Chappy and docks. Next door is a restaurant Newes from America with hearty fare for reasonable cost. "Clean rooms, good staff, great location."
If you want to be right downtown Edgartown and be able to walk to anything the Kelley House is your spot. Staff was always friendly and I would definitely stay there again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The front desk and housekeeping staff were friendly and helpful. We loved the hotel, especially for its close proximity to shopping, restaurants, and attractions. We ate at their "News" restaurant for dinner, which was lively, casual, and served great food. The only drawback was that he paint was chipping off the bathroom ceiling. That aside, the 2 […] queen beds were comfortable and the room was perfect for 3 of us. The gentleman at the front desk recommend an excellent bike rental, which we took advantage of and rode all over Martha's Vineyard. It was a fantastic way to see the island. "Beautiful Birthday Weekend"
Our stay was great. The location was right in the middle of Edgartown so we could walk everywhere. The staff was very friendly and did their best to help in any way. My only problems were that the beds were double beds and it was uncomfortable to sleep for two people (I did know this before I made the reservation) Our hairdryer wasn't working well and […] kept shutting off. The first day I asked for a replacement it didn't come to the room in time. before we had to leave. The muffins in the morning were good but we had the same ones every morning that we were there. Right in the center of town. Close to restaurants, shops and sites. When we arrived to our room there was classical music playing on the radio, very soothing after a long drive from NY. Staff was very helpful and friendly.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Lovely New England inn"
Expedia is displaying the wrong photo for Kelley House. I almost did not book because of it. Kelley House is a lovely, large building in nice area of Edgartown. Easy to park, walk to restaurants and shopping. Very accomodating, comfortable elegant inn style. No elevators, but accomodated me for first floor room due to knee pain. Had small water view. "Cozy, charming and convenient"
Great, convenient location in Edgartown. Cozy lobby with fireplace. Loved the warm cookies and milk every evening. Only not-so-great point was the noise factor on our last night (loud groups outside late into the night, and the walls are not thick, hence the four stars on comfort). "Charming hotel in great location, personal touches"
Kelley House is right in the middle of Edgartown - you are steps from everything. It was a charming old mansion with personal touches like muffins in the morning and fresh baked cookies in the evening - awesome! Our ground floor room smelled a little musty and the shower could have used a little extra scrubbing for mildew spots around the top and seams. "Kelley House very nice"
First room was HOT and when I was told there was no air conditioning but they could give me a fan (and by the way, not shut off the heat at all) that wasn't very good. It was 80 degrees in the room and since the heat wouldn't shut off, it was unlikely to get comfortable. I know it's an older hotel but it's not an inexpensive one, and 80 degrees is too […] hot. It was the young man at the desk who could use some training about how to relate to a guest. Turned out I mentioned this to the hotel up the road, which is part of the same ownership, and I was happily moved to a room in another area where the heat could be regulated. Plus it was closer to my friends who were there too, so it was a good situation. All in all very happy but still surprising reaction from the desk to a guest's concern about the heat being far too high. Have stayed there before and very much miss the young English woman who used to be at the front desk. She was just terrific and did the Kelley House proud. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Beautiful hotel in a beautiful location. Staff were friendly and accomodating. Within walking distance of shops and attractions. Would surely stay here again!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Good basic hotel"
We stayed over New Year. The staff were just great and had all the info about what was open and where to go. Room was clean and a good size but a little outdated - no flat panel TV here, a beige bathroom. Beds were comfy with good quality linens on them. Our room was on the ground floor and we could hear squeaky floorboards from the people in the room […] above every time they moved around - not enough to keep us awake but next time I would ask for a room upstairs. They had muffins and coffee in the lobby which has a fireplace, but there's no dining area or lounge area here. The location is great - right in the center of Edgartown Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Inn for romantic getaway"
We had an excellent experience at the Kelley House. Our room was not ready when we arrived, but the clerk at the front desk upgraded us to a larger room with a beautiful ocean view at no charge. The staff was very accommodating throughout our stay.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Panoramic view of the Edgartown Harbor."
We were greeted at the front desk by a female receptionist who was very friendly and helpful. She up-graded our room to a suite and we were so surprised, It was awesome!Genuine Expedia guest review
They went out of their way to make us feel at home. They made us a new batch of chocolate chip cookies (served nightly with milk) because the first batch was "crispy" and put out muffins before we left at 6am (even though breakfast doesn't officially start until 7pm). I recommend this hotel to anyone!!!!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Beautiful hotel with outstanding service. Cookies and milk before bed, and perfect coffee w/yummy muffins in the morning.Gorgeous furnishings in room and throughout the hotel. This inn was a great, comforting surprise, like visiting relatives. I'd stay there again. Hospitable staff, updated, clean modern rooms with the amenities you need.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Well kept hotel in the midst of downtown Edgarton a block from the harbor. Great location, friendly staff, nice amenities including delicious muffins every morning. Only downsides we observed were that parking is hard to come by (3 satellite lots with only a handful of spots each) and the room was NOISY. Snores, sneezes, flushing toilets, drunk people […] arguing in the hallways come through the walls, ceiling, and floors. With earplugs these interruptions were negligible but if you're sensitive to noises, be warned! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
