I have had positive experiences with the Days Inn brand, and expected this hotel to be fairly decent for it's location. While the room was clean and the beds reasonsonable, the motel set up with exterior room doors coupled with loud traffic made it feel like camping in a parking lot. "Not what I thought!"
Booked this hotel because comments stated they had a good continental breakfast. I would strongly have to disagree. There wasn't much of a choice and none of it looked appetizing. When we initially got to the room we put the key in the door and without pulling the key our the door just opened. Quickly that in order to actually close the door it literally […] had to be slammed! Got in the room and it smelled bad. Was supposed to be a non smoking room and it was but the room had a musty smell that as the night wore on made me sick. The pictures of the room made the room look MUCH bigger than it actually was and the bathroom was VERY small. Barely enough room to go in do business and get out. Very cramped. It was walking distance for the conference i attended at the Embassy Suites. There' was a slight smoke odor in the non-smoking room and room was cosy for two people-- and good quality for a basic hotel. The room was clean and the location of the hotel was in a nice area of town. To get to Seattle it was a 20 minute drive. The front desk told us that they would place in an area of the hotel that was quiet and it was just the opposite. The noise was non-stop all night and in the early morning hours. We stayed one night on the 3rd floor level and had room key problems and had to go to front desk two times get the room key to work so we could enter our room. The desk person said key problems happens to him 5 times a day. In the morning, we went to the lobby for breakfast and when filling a cup of orange juice, a layer of dead gnats were on top of […] the juice. Showed it to the desk person and they just put an out of order sign on the machine. The second night we were on the 2nd floor level and the room key did not work from the very first try. Another trip to the front desk and waited for a maintenance person to "fix" the problem and we are finally able to put our luggage in the room. We leave the room later and try once again to use the room key and once again the room key does not work. This time the front desk person gives us new keys and another attempt to enter room fails. Another trip to the lobby and the front desk person follows us to try keys for himself and room key doesn't work. We finally get into our room with the hotel master key and now have no room key so one of us must stay in the room at all times since we do not have a room key that will work. Wife and I plus our 9 year old grandson stayed Friday night at Days Inn. The check in clerk was friendly and able to complete the checking in transaction swiftly. We stayed in rm 213 which is on the side of the hotel facing a Subaru dealership. The room was extremely clean. Bathroom was spotless. The two queen beds were ultra comfortable. We also put remocon right on top of the night stand, but it seems to be misplaced in the room. Actually, there is no reason for me to hide remocon as you said. Moreover, we always provide individually packed shampoo, conditioner, and soaps in the clean room, but also additional supply is always available in the front door. We chose this hotel because hotels nearer Seattle were too expensive. The price was right, and most importantly, they were pet friendly. At least they said they were. We booked over the telephone through Expedia without any problems. When we arrived at the hotel, they tried to tell us that we could not stay because our dog was over 30 pounds. The gentleman […] passing along this info was not the clerk at the front desk, but instead a man who I presume to be the hotel owner who was just passing through. He was very unpleasant. I told the clerk that we were never informed of a size limit when we booked. We were very unhappy, of course, and asked for them to refund our money if they weren't going to allow us to stay with our dog. So the clerk went chasing after the (presumed) owner to ask what he should do. We waited about five minutes while they apparently debated the subject. Finally the clerk returned and reluctantly agreed to accommodate us. We got a room what seemed to be the pet wing. There was damage from a dog who had previously stayed there, and I remember waking a few times in the night a smelling cat urine. Nasty. Upon arriving the young man at the front desk was prompt and pleasant. The hotel is built motel-ish with room entries from the outside but don't let that deter you. The ruins are updated and decorated nicely. It is inexpensive because there are no fancy frills. Breakfast is simple but free. We ran into a snag in the middle of the night. We were freezing […] and the thermostat was blowing cool air. I walked to the office to get a blanket but no one was present. I assumed perhaps they were making round or something of the sort. I called the office from the office thinking it would forward. Twice. No avail. My sister finally joined me because my errand ran 40 minutes. She yelled (louder than I had) and a startled young man popped out from the "employees only" area. I explained what we were liking fir, twice.
