Silence surrounds this neighborhood’s main attraction: the Recoleta Cemetery. Many famous Argentines are buried here, including Eva Perón, the first lady whose life and ambition are dramatized in the musical Evita. Recoleta’s villas once housed the city’s elite. The Park Plaza Unique was a nice small hotel in an upmarket safe location. My room was good, though the bathroom was small with little storage. Staff members were friendly enough but not overly helpful. Internet wnet down after one day and their attitude was 'well it's broken' no interest in getting it fixed quickly. There was supposed to be room service but when I looked for dinner one evening no one answered my call, I went down to the restaurant myself to find it closed..it was 8pm...well within its supposed opening hours. The hotel is in walking distance to many attractions but taxis are very cheap and readily available. I would stay at the hotel again if I received a very good rate but in all honesty I would probably suggest looking at other options.

The front desk was extremely helpful and friendly. The room was good sized but the bath rooms are small and without counter space (we used the counter of the wetbar across the entry hall from the bathroom for our personal items). Forget the promotion for the included tango show: it is at a lesser-known theater in La Boca (across the city, and you must provide your own transportation). The front desk will suggest other shows with better offerings (including transportation) that are much closer.

This was my second stay at this hotel. The rooms aren't the most modern, special the bathrooms, and the noise from the hall invades your space. Nonetheless, the location on Alvear Avenue is can't be beat. The reception staff is extremely nice - but they put your credit card info at check-in on one of the old-fashioned multiple forms, and they unfortunately gave mine to another guest, by mistake, at their checkout. I've had to cancel my card and all that this entails. Just an unfortunate mistake, but it left a bad taste in my mouth.

Service was great. Attentive staff, very willing to help with local travel and sightseeing arrangements. The room was comfortably furnished, although the desk was much too small. The bed and couch were comfortable. The room was clean and well maintained, and housekeeping came twice a day (morning cleaning and evening turn-down) to tidy everything up and replenish supplies. I was quite satisfied with the hotel, which provided great value for the money and was in a very nice neighborhood as well. My only big complaints are the high charge for Internet ($14 for 24 hours, charged per computer and not per room), the low connection speed considering how high the price was, and the small, old-fashioned elevators which are very crowded and also cease to function when any door is left open (elevator doors on every floor must be manually opened and closed).

This hotel had European charm in the lovely Recoleta district. Our room was comfortable and well-maintained. We could walk to a number of attractions. The hotel staff made good recommendations for dinner and a bus tour (though it was longer than expected, and we had to leave the tour early for another appointment). Be sure you take your receipt with you; we had prepaid for breakfast, and the hotel staff did not know this. The elevators were slow, but usually available quickly.

Hotels.com website listed this hotel as a "european plan" which typically includes breakfast included in the total price of the hotel. The hotel staff informed us at Check In that breakfast was not included, even though it was served in the lobby. We did not eat breakfast at the hotel, it was an additional $10 USD for breakfast daily for each person. WE were very disappointed since our plan was to eat at the hotel. The staff was very uncooperative regarding the breakfast and any other requests we had during our stay. The shutter at the window did not work half way through the stay and it was inoperable and stuck half open, allowing no light into the room. Although the staff fixed it once and merely propped it on wood stakes, they never showed up to fix it the second time after the cleaning staff took the wood stakes down and the shutter closed once again.

My girlfriend and I spent 10 days in the Hotel to enjoy our vacation in the beautiful city of Buenos Aires. We found the location excellent not just for its proximity to the Recoleta area, but to all the major monuments, fantastic restaurants, and tourist destinations nearby. The staff is very attentive and will make great restaurant and entertainment recommendations if asked. Be mindful that the prices do switch between dollar and pesos quite often, and making international calls using the hotel telephone is very expensive, even if less than a few minutes as in our case. Overall, the Kempinski made our trip on of the best and would definately recomend it.
