Hotel was very comfortable. The cabbies to and from HP Pavillion were theives - eight mile detours for two mile rides. If the neighborhood was better at night, we would have walked.

The exterior door did not close tightly. The entry tile to the room was held in place by duct tape. The bathroom had wallpaper curling at the bottom of the wall and was not sure if there was mold (didn't look that close). There was no convenient outlets to plug in electronics ie. laptops, cell phone chargers, dtc.

We enjoyed our courtyard room and a delicious dinner and prompt and efficient rides to and from the airport. When we arrived at our room at 3pm-ish, I noticed we were next to the housekeeping headquarters, which I thought was odd as the hotel hardly seemed full. The radio was blasting next door and several employees were obviously enjoying the end of […] the day. As we had been traveling for hours, we were so glad to relax and we assumed the fun would be over shortly, which it was. However, at 5:30 am, we were proved incorrect. There was loading, dropping and banging noises in the room next door. The shoveling sound -like ice? or gravel for 20-25 minutes, then laughter and chatting- all off and on from 5:30 am- 8:30am. I tried the "front desk" button on our phone several times, which never answered. Then I used my cell to call, made contact and they said they would take care of it. We heard the admonishment and the noise stopped shortly after. I don't have a problem with people doing their work and having fun, however, when a hotel is hardly full, and at the earliest check-in time, we are put next to the noisiest room in the building, I have a problem. Common sense would dictate to keep guests away from the ins and outs of hotel management. I think some evaluation needs to be done on placement of guests. I wonder if the fact that we booked through hotels.com had anything to do with this. Read more

Furniture and bed coverings needed to be cleaned. Carpet was dirty. Only one cup from which to drink in a double room. Directions to the room were unclear and hotel did not have signage directing one to his room.

The worst, tired, overrated, misleading fake hotel (that should be a motel) I've ever booked from hotels.com. Go ahead and book it but you will be so disappointed when you have to sleep with the lights on. Also, make sure to bring your own bedding. There is a filth issue here. The room was small, and missing tiles in the bathroom, but clean and the bed was comfortable. Room service was quick and food was ok. No shampoo in the room. The grounds were maintained, but are getting run down and old. Iron had an anti-theft device that made it challenging to use. The room was clean and functional. There is a small desk to work on. The Internet connection was a bit slow, but usable. The workout room has 3 machines (treadmill, eliptical, and recumbent bike) and a multi-functional weight stack. The treadmill's belt was loose and wasn't smooth so I used the eliptical (worked good). This is a "hotel" that used to be a motel, they don't have an elevator and you have to go outside to get to your room. The rooms are kept pretty clean. I wouldn't suggest walking around the neighborhood. They just have 1 shuttle bus, so be prepared to wait if catching their shuttle from/to the airport.

Check out the liquor store a few blocks away on 1st St. They have an amazing specialty beer selection. Yeah, its a pretty dicey 'hood but thats part of the experience. Room has not been updated in decades. The carpet is old, dirty and torn. The furnishings and amenities are outdated and also seem dirty and drab. The motion sensor on the lights and outlets is a horrible idea. There was only one accessible out let to charge my computer and it was on a motion sensor. The front desk at tried to charge us for the rooms and said there was no record of payment through hotels.com. I pulled my paperwork out to show them, then they said it was just for one room. I again showed them I had paid for 2 rooms. They asked me when I made the resveration, it took some time to find. The last issue was they tried to charge $7,50/day […] for parking. I called the hotel he day I booked the room to ask the price of parking, they told me $5.00. I told them this and they agreed to the $5/day. Good location close to San Jose Airport and convenient for making connections. Hotel offered free shuttle service to the airport so we could easily make our early morning flight. The hotel was a little overpriced for the amenities offered. But the room was clean and ok for one night.

Far from renovated in 2008... Light from outside entered room from under door... Burnt Iron prints into carpets... Many homeless people wandering hotel grounds during day and evening... Did not make it a safe feeling. Food in Island Grill over priced. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Everything was pretty good. The rugs in the room need to be replaced. Not cleaned! That won't do it. Take them out and put new ones in. Other than that. It was good. I was in town alone for business.
