Hotel EXE Conquistador - Cordoba

We booked the El Conquistador based on its location in the old part of Cordoba and to its location to the Mesquita, and its ratings-they were right on. Staff was very helpful, and the breakfast buffet was delicious. Definitely staying here again when we return to Cordoba.

Best location in Cordoba. Staff is great, but hotel shooould hire more help to work at front desk. One front desk girl took care of everyone but she needed help. Beds are okay, if you are not too demanding, but they need a makeover. Perfect and beautiful bathrooms.

For a one-night stopover in cordova, it was fine, but it's not a hotel I'd stay in for an extended time. Our room was so small we literally couldn't get the chair out from under the desk (it was jammed into the bed). We had to play a game of Tetris with the minibar and desk just to make enough room to be able to walk around the bed. Bed was hard. Pillows […] were useless. Great location. Adjacent to the Mezquita. Hotel was nice and staff was pleasing. Rooms were OK. This hotel could easily be a 4 star hotel if they would upgrade their bedding. The only complaint I have is that the beds were old and hard. Good for 1 night & visit to Mezquita as it's right across the street. Pleasant staff, but cramped and very uncomfortable. Beds hard even by Spanish standards, coarse rough sheets, noise from kitchen kept us up for hours. Still, location is perfect for that 1 night stop in Cordoba. But not longer.

If you like sleeping in a sauna, stay at this hotel. The AC in our rooms was almost non-existent. When asked to change rooms, the other rooms were worse. Musty and old smelling...location is great but hotel needs a major overhaul... Look somewhere else...

The location was the best - so we were just down the block from the entrance to the Mezquita. That made it so convenient to get there by 8:30 for the free admission. Front desk was very nice at checkin, offered to park car and bring me up the keys, lent me their computer for a quick online check in lieu of making me pay for the lobby computer. We stayed while visiting the Cathedral or Cordoba. Location for that could not have been better. Also, centrally located in the city. Tour buses cannot come up to the hotel so will have to walk across the bridge (5 Min) to board a tour bus. We liked the hotel.

The location of this hotel is great. My room had a window with a view directly onto the decorated external wall and gateways of the Mezquita across a pedestrianised road. Yet it was quiet. Good value breakfast. Comfortable room.

Very nice hotel with a great location. We were upgraded to a junior suite with a view of the Mesquita which is beautiful at night with the lights. Wish we could have stayed longer. While breakfast seemed expensive it was the same price as everywhere else we stayed. We plan to return to Spain and will definitely stay at the Hotel Conquistador.

The hotel lobby is beautiful, and the staff are very friendly. The rooms were large and comfortable, and the free internet was fast. The breakfast buffet was not the best we've had, with a broken hot beverage dispenser, and somewhat fatty, lukewarm food. The hotel garage is about 2 blocks away, and one of the staff took us on a roundabout, terrifying […] ride to park our car (I was thinking I should have paid for the collision damage waiver insurance the entire trip). OK, this was the best deal of my entire trip around Andalusia. Number one about this hotel: Location, location, location. The view out of my window was the outside wall of the Mezquita - about 50 feet away. The hotel itself was rather nice. I had read reviews stating that it was run down and not up to expectations. There is a lovely garden off the lobby which offers a quiet, shaded area in the hot afternoon where you can get a drink and relax. Also, there is a parking garage underneath the hotel - with spaces for all the guests (something you can not count on from most hotels in Spain). We went to this hotel to spend a night away while I was staying in malaga with my fiancee, we drove there one morning (over 2h drive) and when we arrived they wouldnt admit my fiancee because he didnt have his passport (which we left in malaga for safety reasons) and he didnt have his wallet with him because he lost it in England just before flying […] to Spain. They were really rude to us and said he wasnt allowed in, even though i had the payment confirmation and my ID, it wasnt stated anywhere that all the guests needed identification and they didnt even apologise, they just said " he should have some sort of ID with him at all times" and they left us waiting there, we nearly drive back when we thought of phoning someone to scan his passport and having sent over. After all this hassle we were allowed in our room, we really thought that after all that trouble they would be nice to us. But the room was really small and had two single beds instead of a double bed as we required, they said there was no availability, the view of the room was amazing, straight to someone elses window, and there wasnt even toilet paper in the bathroom, we had to ask for it. Loacation could not have been better. Next door to the Mezquita/Catheral, easy access considering the narrow street one way streets and they have a car park. Reception was helpful, spoke english well and booked special events for guests. It has a cool relaxing central court protected from the sun and the outside world.
