My stay was not good. The hotel room was very hot and no Air conditioner were offer. The hotel room small and the other room that was offer to me was very noise and window in the room were with no way to be lock till complained was attend by hotel personnel who lock the window with a pice of wood

Hotel staff was very friendly, room service was great, good location to shop and lots of food options. Front desk reception was okay. You'd stand there for a few minutes before you were acknowledged. Rooms were tiny but cozy, overall okay. Not impressed but for the price, I'm not complaining & I would stay there again.

You can't ask for a better location. Just a few steps from the hotel door you will find metro enter. Puerta Sol is less that five minutes walk and Plaza Mayor. Cleanliness of room A ++.

I would recommend staying here, great location, right on the Gran Via and all the shopping places. Metro is right in front of the building. If you go out to the right and turn right into the opening you head straight into the Puerta del Sol, then you walk a little more and you get to the Plaza Mayor and other great locations. The room carpet is a little out of date but it is no big deal, the rooms are clean, bathroom is modern, and plasma TV. You have a heater and air condition switch in your room to control. Water in the vending machine is pretty cheap also, only 40 euro, good to get for the long days and refill. Everyone stays out late nights, so plan on staying out late and having tapas and paella. Prime location on the edge of Old Town...within steps of metro line...five minutes walking away from Sol..a few more to Plaza Mayor. The staff was helpful and accomodating.Because Grand Via is a major street and my room was on street side...you could hear activity throughout the night. Madrid never sleeps! But I've stayed on a pedestrian street in Old […] Town and it wasn't really any different. Police patrol the area constantly, just like they do in Sol. A neighboring street has prostitutes at night with police on either end and families walking up and down the street..so a bit of colorful atmosphere...which can be avoided if necessary...but isn't a threat or a problem. Across from the hotel and up and down on either side of Grand via are lots of good shopping venues...and restaurants within a minute or two in all directions. The only good thing in this hotel is that it is in the town center and close to every tourist spots in Madrid. While the hotel itself is very tired (worn out carpet, old wall paper), it was very clean. The hotel staff was awesome - very, very helpful. Everyone was extremely nice. The hotel itself is very centrally located - lots of things within walking distance and the Gran Via metro stop is right outside the door. I would definitely stay there again.

First I rented a double bed room. They gave me two separeted bed in a honey moon!! They did not changed and were very rude with u. Second, they turned off the airconditinig every night and it was the hottest days in Madri. When I asked to turn on the air, they told me to open the windows.

This hotel is a great location to access everythig in Madrid. If you don't want teh traffic to keep you awake and you don't mind not having a street view out your window, ask for a room in the back, it is quiet and easier to rest. The front desk was helpful, and very accomodating, let us have a late check out when we asked.

The hotel was very well located -right on the subway station and very close to Puerta del Sol, however I had problems in getting connected with their paid wi-fi. Took me quite a while. The room was very basic, with small single beds. No luxury at all - not even a mini-bar...

This is an okay hotel. Dont expect any type of "help" from the staff. We asked for ice and wine glasses--none available--but I guess that's what you get for 3 star hotel. Its a convenient location--but also a bit dodgy. Lots of ladies of night--but lingering around all day. Great for the price!

We were extremely pleased with the location. We took the metro from the airport to hotel for 1euro and hotel is literally like 20 steps away from stop! We walked everywhere!!!! Rooms were a little out dated but clean and comfy. It is a little noisy @ night( our window faced the main street) no big deal. Just so you know there are prostitutes around […] the corner from the hotel. They are not disrespectful in anyway, you know what they are because they just stand there men approach them they don't approach people or flaunt their business. The elevators were old, small and to get in you have to open a door to get to the actual elevator.Breakfast buffet was excellent. Staff was great! A somewhat outdated hotel, though reasonable facilites offered. Small rooms, common to the older buildings in central madrid. Rather hard beds and pillows, very small beds, tight for space and closet space. Friendly staff, couldnt be more central if wanted! Good breakfast, good special deal price.

Except for its location in the middle of the gran via I cannot say good words. It's an old crumbly hotel with rooms with no light, old furniture, and service of a 1star hotel... Even the area is a bit over rated unless you are really keen on being hustled by prostitutes when you come outside... My verdict is a big thumb down!

The hotel room was very noisy, we were on the sixth floor but we could hear traffic and voices in the street all night even with the windows shut. The room was also cold. Very convenient location as we could walk to all the major tourist sights. Also right beside the metro station.

A location perfect in the centre of Madrid, excellent for sight seeing, theatre and cinema enthusiasts. Check in was a little slow as was check out. On leaving the elevator on my allocated floor I was shocked by the state of the carpet in the common areas, threadbare somewhat dirty. I was however relieved when entering my room and seeing the much improved […] carpet. Rooms were nicely decorated however in most other hotels of 3 star the individual rooms tend to have larger beds rather a simple single bed. I did not take advantage of the breakfast offered and the room servise consisted of a menu for the local Telepizza. There vending machines available for coffee, soft drinks, crisps and sweets in the first floor lounge. In conclusion for the price I payed through Hotels.com I was happily satisfied however, their advertised, walk in price, is somewhat expensive for the standard. Read more

There is nothing special with this hotel apart from the location, you do not need to have a wake up call or set your alarm as you will be waken up once the day starts, due to the structure of the building you can here anything happening outside of your room, speakings, lifts, doors, so and so, all I can say is the location really good and thats it.

Booked 4 x twin rooms for 2 nights for stag do. Perfect for a base - super centrally located. Rooms clean but tired - needs refit all over and some staff are less than mulit-lingual. Please stay away from this hotel, it is absolutely terrible. probably the worst hotel i have ever stayed at and that includes a couple of hostels. talking of which hostel probably better describes this hotel...or even hostile! on check in they had the wrong booking and instead of getting 2 double rooms we got one twin room, after we got this sorted […] we got 2 twin rooms without not so much as an apology. the internet is extra which is a very high price for one hour or go for the daily rate which is cheaper but still 1/5 of the daily room rate! i did save some money here because we were told the internet was not working!! the rooms were the most basic rooms i have stayed in at any hotel. very dated with and not at all well maintained eg rotten skirting boards, dirty black grout, cracked and chipped bathroom wall and floor tiles (almost all of them!). the beds were thin and uncomfortable. the room was either 2 hot or too cold. the hot water took forever to come on. the only modern thing about the room was a flat screen tv stuck to the wall with wires trailing underneath. the safe was a joke! put in 1 euro, turn key to lock, key doesnt come out, turn key back to open, 1 euro disappears! a safe that doesnt lock but takes your money each time you open it!? 2 things i can say positive about this hotel. it was clean considering how dated it is, the maids do a good job of cleaning old badly maintained rooms. the location is on gran via which is the main tourist street. the downside of gran via is the constant traffic noise and the tramps and prostitutes everywhere. i could go on and on about how rubbish this hotel is but i dont have time and i think you probably get the idea by now.
