The mattress sheet was not set right on the mattress and kept coming off after a nights sleep. Needed better mattress sheets to properly fit the mattress. Pillows were too hard and others were too soft. Need to get a happy medium collection of pillows. When the TV is on it would be nice to have a guide channel or a guide button on the remote to see […] what is on. maybe it was just my stay being a weekend but loud music till 11pm , kids walking and talking very loud all thru the night , endless parade of obnoxious young drunk . If you want to party all night , yes this is the place but definitely not the place for relaxation .

When we arrived we were told that you had "over-booked" the hotel and we could not have the rooms we had prepaid for. My son and his wife were "upgraded" to a mini suite that had a bed that pulled down from the wall and had no electrical outlets in the bathroom (which was very inconvenient) instead of the King bed, patio over-looking the water room […] we reserved and paid for. They were able to move the next day but it did not leave a good impression of your hotel for future hotel needs. My husband and I were put in room 328 where the air conditioner ran on and off all night long. When it was blowing cold air it was blowing directly on me. It would blow for a couple of minutes and then shut off. It wouldn't come back on until we started to sweat--then it would come on and make a terrible noise. This went on all night long, every day. On the good side--your personnel couldn't have been friendlier and tried very hard to make our stay a good one. Read more

For the price it is great! Especially with the view of the bay. However, the music from Hulk Hogan's new bar/Restaurant next door is very loud and distorted. This was going on the last time I stayed at this hotel. It would not be so bad except that the PA system is shot and highly distorted. The hotel was clean. The staff was very helpful. The room we were in was comfortable and clean. Limited tv channels but that's not the reason we were there. The view from our balcony was BEAUTIFUL. The only complaint would be the loud music from the bar and beach area. Will definitely visit this hotel again.

Elevators need maintenance as the one to the right side as you enter from lobby shakes, more turbulence than some flights I've been on. When we got to our room we had a little issue. I called the front desk and they moved us to another room immediatley. The room was great. Very large. I didn't even have to argue with the management. Great customer service. Beautiful veiw. We will definatley stay again.

The grounds outside of the hotel were absolutely beautiful and breath taking. However, our room was just adequate, clean but nothing special. We couldn't shower (ran quickly out of hot water), full size beds only, and a small TV with NO high definition, so the pictures were "grainy," plus a black screen kept coming on, with cryptic lettering, very unusual. […] When I left, I explained some of the problems, and nicely, they gave my family and I, 3 $10 coupons for breakfast. Hogan's Restaurant attached to the hotel has very good food and a great atmosphere. It's a beautiful site, sitting on Tampa Bay, but a few miles away from downtown Tampa and Bush Gardens, where we were ultimately heading. Read more

I stayed there for business; I was there to take a 4-day class held at the hotel. About 1/2 the rooms face the bay and the view is nice. Of course, there is a pool, bar, restaurant and dock on the water. All of that gets old fast. The hotel itself isn't much of an attraction. I can't understand why anyone on vacation would stay there. Prices at Hogan's […] Beach (the bar/restaurant) are sky high and there is not an alternative located closeby. It is a 10-minute drive one way to Spruce St. to find a variety of food and shopping. Yeah, jet-skis are available for rent and you can fish from the dock, but sitting at the pool or bar seems to be the biggest attraction. Use it as a home base. Get directions to "civilization" Day 1 and bring a large cooler for your room. Plan your side trips; if the location works for you then go for it. I'm Floridian, born and raised. The hotel is very clean and the views are incredible. My room was a bay view which was really nice and exceptionally clean. Unfortunately, it faced a beach across the bay that held parties with live bands every night of the weekend until the middle of the night. It was extremely noisy. Once the weekend was over the noise quieted down. Also I was contaced […] directly through the hotel phone located in the room that my credit card info needed to be updated due to a hotel computer malfunction. I was told I could do it over the phone, but being suspicious I chose to walk down to the lobby's front desk. Once at the front desk I was informed that they were aware of such as scam and pointed to a sign that was tucked into a corner of the front desk warning guests that there was such a scam going on. I questioned the front desk personnel why I wasn't verbally told of such upon my arrival 20 minutes earlier and was told that it slipped their minds. Many young people were staying there and may not have been as wary as I and given valuable info over the phone to the perp. All in all I would say that my stay was very nice, but I wanted to share a few of the things that may be important to other travelers. Read more
